Abstract

We present our recent results on the scattering length of $^{4}\mathrm{He}\ensuremath{-}^{4}\mathrm{He}_{2}$ collisions. These investigations are based on the hard-core version of the Faddeev differential equations. As compared to our previous calculations of the same quantity, a much more refined grid is employed, providing an improvement of about 10%. Our results are compared with other ab initio and model calculations.

Ultracold collisions in the system of three helium atoms

Elena A. Kolganova, Alexander Konstantinovich Motovilov, Werner Sandhas

The Faddeev differential equations for a system of three particles with a hard-core interaction are described. Numerical results on the binding energies of the 4He3 and 3He4He2 trimers and on ultracold collisions of 3,4He atoms with 4He2 dimers obtained with the help of those differential equations are reviewed. The results obtained for the hard-core model using the Faddeev equations are compared with analogous results obtained by alternative methods.

Ultra-low energy elastic scattering in a system of three He atoms

Differential Faddeev equations in total angular momentum representation are used for the first time to investigate ultra-low energy elastic scattering of a helium atom on a helium dimer. Six potential models of interatomic interaction are investigated. The results improve and extend the Faddeev equations based results known in literature. The employed method can be applied to investigation of different elastic and inelastic processes in three- and four-atomic weakly bounded systems below three-body threshold. 1

The system of differential equations in the momentum space for the three-body problem: Continuous spectrum

Ф. М. Пеньков, Werner Sandhas

A system of differential equations in the momentum space for describing three-body scattering is obtained. Preliminary calculations of the length of boson scattering on a bound bosonic pair are performed. The data obtained are in good agreement with the results of calculations of helium atom scattering on a helium dimer.
