Abstract

We present an "algebraic treatment" of the analytical Bethe ansatz for open spin chains with soliton nonpreserving (SNP) boundary conditions. For this purpose, we introduce abstract monodromy and transfer matrices which provide an algebraic framework for the analytical Bethe ansatz. It allows us to deal with a generic [Formula: see text] open SNP spin chain possessing on each site an arbitrary representation. As a result, we obtain the Bethe equations in their full generality. The classification of finite dimensional irreducible representations for the twisted Yangians are directly linked to the calculation of the transfer matrix eigenvalues.

Analytical Bethe Ansatz for closed and open gl(n)-spin chains in any representation

It allows us to deal with a generic gl(n)-spin chain possessing on each site an arbitrary gl(n)-representation. For open spin chains, we use the classification of the reflection matrices to treat all the diagonal boundary cases. The classifications of finite dimensional irreducible representations for the Yangian (closed spin chains) and for the reflection algebras (open spin chains) are directly linked to the calculation of the transfer matrix eigenvalues. As examples, we recover the usual closed and open spin chains, we treat the alternating spin chains and the closed spin chain with impurity.

Analytical Bethe ansatz for closed and opengl(Script N)-spin chains in any representation

The classifications of finite-dimensional irreducible representations for the Yangian (closed spin chains) and for the reflection algebras (open spin chains) are directly linked to the calculation of the transfer matrix eigenvalues. The local Hamiltonian associated with a given integrable spin chain needs to be computed case by case. A general formula is still lacking at that point. As examples, we recover the usual Hamiltonian and Bethe equations for closed and open spin chains; we treat the alternating spin chains and the closed spin chain with an impurity. We also compute the Hamiltonian and Bethe equations for the open spin chain model used in the context of large- N QCD.

The nested Bethe ansatz for ‘all’ open spin chains with diagonal boundary conditions

S. Belliard, E. Ragoucy

We present in a unified and detailed way the nested Bethe ansatz for open spin chains based on(super)algebras, with arbitrary representations (i.e., 'spins') on each site of the chain and diagonal boundary matrices (K + (u), K -(u)).The nested Bethe ansatz applies for a general K -(u), but a particular form of the K + (u) matrix. The construction extends and unifies the results already obtained for open spin chains based on the fundamental representation and for some particular superspin chains. We give the eigenvalues, Bethe equations and the explicit form of the Bethe vectors for the corresponding models. The Bethe vectors are also expressed using a trace formula.

Nonstandard Bethe Ansatz equations for open O(N) spin chains

Tamás Gombor

The double row transfer matrix of the open O(N) spin chain is diagonalized and the Bethe Ansatz equations are also derived by the algebraic Bethe Ansatz method including the so far missing case when the residual symmetry is O(2M+1)×O(2N−2M−1). In this case the boundary breaks the “rank” of the O(2N) symmetry leading to nonstandard Bethe Ansatz equations in which the number of Bethe roots is less than as it was in the periodic case. Therefore these cases are similar to soliton-nonpreserving reflections.

Nested algebraic Bethe ansatz for orthogonal and symplectic open spin chains

Allan John Gerrard, Vidas Regelskis

We present a nested algebraic Bethe ansatz for one-dimensional so2n- and sp2n-symmetric open spin chains with diagonal boundary conditions. The monodromy matrix of these spin chains satisfies the defining relations on the extended twisted Yangians Xρ(so2n,so2nρ)tw and Xρ(sp2n,sp2nρ)tw, respectively. We use a generalisation of the De Vega and Karowski approach allowing us to relate the spectral problem of so2n- or sp2n-symmetric open spin chain to that of gln-symmetric open spin chain studied by Belliard and Ragoucy. We explicitly derive the structure of Bethe vectors, their eigenvalues and the nested Bethe equations. We also provide a proof of Belliard and Ragoucy's trace formula for Bethe vectors of gln-symmetric open spin chains.

General boundary conditions for the and open spin chains

D. Arnaudon, Jean Avan, Nicolas Crampé +3 more

Two types of boundary conditions (‘soliton preserving’ and ‘soliton non-preserving’) are investigated for the and open spin chains. The appropriate reflection equations are formulated and the corresponding solutions are classified. The symmetry and the Bethe ansatz equations are derived for each case. The general treatment for non-diagonal reflection matrices associated with the ‘soliton preserving’ case is worked out. The connection between the ‘soliton non-preserving’ boundary conditions and the twisted (super-) Yangians is also discussed.
