Algebraic Construction of Quantum Integrable Models Including Inhomogeneous Models

Anjan Kundu

Exploiting the quantum integrability condition we construct an ancestor model associated with a new underlying quadratic algebra. This ancestor model represents an exactly integrable quantum lattice inhomogeneous anisotropic model and at its various realizations and limits can generate a wide range of integrable models. They cover quantum lattice as well as field models associated with the quantum $R$-matrix of trigonometric type or at the undeformed $q \\to 1$ limit similar models belonging to the rational class. The classical limit likewise yields the corresponding classical discrete and field models. Thus along with the generation of known integrable models in a unifying way a new class of inhomogeneous models including variable mass sine-Gordon model, inhomogeneous Toda chain, impure spin chains etc. are constructed.

1 Yang-Baxter algebra and generation of quantum integrable models

Anjan Kundu

An operator defoemed quantum algebra is discovered exploiting the quantum Yang-Baxter equation with trigonometric R-matrix. This novel Hopf algebra along with its q → 1 limit seem to be the most general Yang-Baxter algebra underlying quantum integrable systems. Three different directions of application of this algebra in integrable systems depending on different sets of values of deforming operators are identified. Fixed values on the whole lattice yield subalgebras linked to standard quantum integrable models, while the associated Lax operators generate and classify them in an unified way. Variable values construct a new series of quantum integrable inhomogeneous models. Fixed but different values at different lattice sites can produce a novel class of integrable hybrid models including integrable matter-radiation models and quantum field models with defects, in particular, a new quantum integrable sine-Gordon model with defect. Algebraic Bethe ansatz for a discrete-state BCS pairing model

Jan von Delft, Rubik Poghossian

We show in detail how Richardson's exact solution of a discrete-state BCS (DBCS) model can be recovered as a special case of an algebraic Bethe-ansatz solution of the inhomogeneous XXX vertex model with twisted boundary conditions: by implementing the twist using Sklyanin's $\mathbf{K}$-matrix construction and taking the quasiclassical limit, one obtains a complete set of conserved quantities ${\mathbf{H}}_{i}$ from which the DBCS Hamiltonian can be constructed as a second order polynomial. The eigenvalues and eigenstates of the ${\mathbf{H}}_{i}$ (which reduce to the Gaudin Hamiltonians in the limit of infinitely strong coupling) are exactly known in terms of a set of parameters determined by a set of on-shell Bethe ansatz equations, which reproduce Richardson's equations for these parameters. We thus clarify that the integrability of the DBCS model is a special case of the integrability of the twisted inhomogeneous XXX vertex model. Furthermore, by considering the twisted inhomogeneous XXZ model and/or choosing a generic polynomial of the ${\mathbf{H}}_{i}$'s as Hamiltonian, more general exactly solvable models can be constructed. To make the paper accessible to readers that are not Bethe-ansatz experts, the introductory sections include a self-contained review of those of its feature which are needed here.

We show in detail how Richardson's exact solution of a discrete-state BCS (DBCS) model can be recovered as a special case of an algebraic Bethe-ansatz solution of the inhomogeneous XXX vertex model with twisted boundary conditions: by implementing the twist using Sklyanin's K\mathbf{K}K-matrix construction and taking the quasiclassical limit, one obtains a complete set of conserved quantities Hi{\mathbf{H}}_{i}Hi from which the DBCS Hamiltonian can be constructed as a second order polynomial.
