Bethe equations `on the wrong side of the equator'

Abstract

We analyse Baxter's famous T-Q equations for the XXX ( XXZ ) spin chain and show that, apart from its usual polynomial (trigonometric) solution, which provides the solution of Bethe ansatz equations, there also exists a second solution which should correspond to the Bethe ansatz beyond . This second solution of Baxter's equation plays an essential role and together with the first one gives rise to all fusion relations.

On the algebraic Bethe ansatz for the XXX spin chain: creation operators beyond the equator

A. E. Kovalsky, G. P. Pronko

Considering the XXX spin-1/2 chain in the framework of the algebraic Bethe ansatz, we make the following short comment: the product of the creation operators corresponding to the recently found solution of the Bethe equations ‘on the wrong side of the equator’ [1] is just zero (not only its action on the pseudovacuum).

Families of solutions of the nested Bethe ansatz for theA2spin chain

G P Pronko, Yu G Stroganov

The full set of polynomial solutions of the nested Bethe ansatz is constructed for the case of the A 2 rational spin chain. The structure and properties of these associated solutions are more various than the case of the usual XXX ( A 1 ) spin chain but their role is similar.

A Q-operator for open spin chains I. Baxter’s TQ relation

Bart Vlaar, Robert Weston

We construct a Q -operator for the open XXZ Heisenberg quantum spin chain with diagonal boundary conditions and give a rigorous derivation of Baxter’s TQ relation. Key roles in the theory are played by a particular infinite-dimensional solution of the reflection equation and by short exact sequences of intertwiners of the standard Borel subalgebras of U q ( s l ^ 2 ) . The resulting Bethe equations are the same as those arising from Sklyanin’s algebraic Bethe ansatz.

On solutions of Bethe equations for the XXZ model

V. Tarasov

It is shown that solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations for the inhomogeneous arbitrary spin XXX or XXZ model satisfy certain identites which generalize those, recently obtained by K.Fabricius and B.M.McCoy, for solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations for the six-vertex model. Even in the last case, the given proof is simpler than the original one.

On generalized Q-systems

Abstract We formulate Q-systems for the closed XXZ, open XXX and open quantum- group-invariant XXZ quantum spin chains. Polynomial solutions of these Q-systems can be found efficiently, which in turn lead directly to the admissible solutions of the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations.
