Relation of The New Calogero Models and xxz Spin Chains

Abstract

We extend our previous analysis of the classical integrable models of Calogero in several respects. Firstly we provide the algebraic resaons of their quantum integrability.Secondly we show why these systems allow their initial value problem to be solved in closed form . Furthermore we show that due to their similarity with the above models the classical and quantum Heisenberg magnets with long rang interactions in a magnetic field are also intergrable. Explicit expressions are given for the integrals of motion in involution in the classical case and for the commuting operators in the quantum case.

Bethe Ansatz inside Calogero-Sutherland models

Gwenaël Ferrando, Jules Lamers, Fedor Levkovich-Maslyuk +1 more

We study the trigonometric quantum spin-Calogero-Sutherland model, and the Haldane-Shastry spin chain as a special case, using a Bethe-ansatz analysis. We harness the model's Yangian symmetry to import the standard tools of integrability for Heisenberg spin chains into the world of integrable long-range models with spins. From the transfer matrix with a diagonal twist we construct Heisenberg-style symmetries (Bethe algebra) that refine the usual hierarchy of commuting Hamiltonians (quantum determinant) of the spin-Calogero-Sutherland model. We compute the first few of these new conserved charges explicitly, and diagonalise them by Bethe ansatz inside each irreducible Yangian representation. This yields a new eigenbasis for the spin-Calogero-Sutherland model that generalises the Yangian Gelfand-Tsetlin basis of Takemura-Uglov. The Bethe-ansatz analysis involves non-generic values of the inhomogeneities. Our review of the inhomogeneous Heisenberg XXX chain, with special attention to how the Bethe ansatz works in the presence of fusion, may be of independent interest.

Integrable Heisenberg-van Vleck chains with variable range exchange

V. I. Inozemtsev

The review of recent results in the s=1/2 quantum spin chains with $1/\sinh^2(κr$ exchange is presented. Related problems in the theory of classical and quantum Calogero-Sutherland-Moser systems with inverse square hyperbolic and elliptic potentials are discussed. The attention is paid to finding the explicit form of corresponding Bethe-Ansatz equations and to connection with generalized Hubbard chains in one dimension.

Correlation Functions of Quantum Integrable Models: The XXZ Spin Chain

Jean Michel Maillet

A general approach to the computation of exact correlation functions of lattice quantum integrable models proposed recently is reviewed. It is based on the resolution of the quantum inverse scattering problem. The application of this method to theXXZ Heisenberg spin- $$\tfrac{1}{2}$$ in a magnetic field leads to multiple integral representations of its n-point correlation functions. For zero magnetic field, it gives a proof, in both the massless and massive (anti-ferromagnetic) regimes, of the formulas obtained from the q-deformed KZ equations (massless regime) and the representation theory of the quantum affine algebra $${\mathcal{U}_q}(\widehat s{l_2})$$ together with the corner transfer matrix approach (massive regime). We also discuss further problems, related in particular to long distance asymptotics of these correlation functions.

New boundary conditions for integrable lattices

V B Kuznetsov, M F Jorgensen, P L Christiansen

New boundary conditions for classical integrable nonlinear lattices of the XXX type, such as the Heisenberg chain and the Toda lattice, are presented. These integrable extensions are formulated in terms of a generic XXX Heisenberg magnet interacting with two additional spins at each end of the chain. The construction uses the most general rank-1 ansatz for the 2*2 L-operator satisfying the reflection equation algebra with rational r-matrix. The associated quadratic algebra is shown to be that of dynamical symmetry for the A 1 and BC 2 Calogero-Moser problems. Other physical realizations of our quadratic algebra are also considered.

Introduction to Integrable Many-Body Systems II

Ladislav Šamaj

Introduction to Integrable Many-Body Systems II This is the second part of a three-volume introductory course about integrable systems of interacting bodies. The models of interest are quantum spin chains with nearest-neighbor interactions between spin operators, in particular Heisenberg spin-1/2 models. The Ising model in a transverse field, expressible as a quadratic fermion form by using the Jordan-Wigner transformation, is the subject of Sect. 12. The derivation of the coordinate Bethe ansatz for the XXZ Heisenberg chain and the determination of its absolute ground state in various regions of the anisotropy parameter are presented in Sect. 13. The magnetic properties of the ground state are explained in Sect. 14. Sect. 15 concerns excited states and the zero-temperature thermodynamics of the XXZ model. The thermodynamics of the XXZ Heisenberg chain is derived on the basis of the string hypothesis in Sect. 16; the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations are analyzed in high-temperature and low-temperature limits. An alternative derivation of the thermodynamics without using strings, leading to a non-linear integral equation determining the free energy, is the subject of Sect. 17. A nontrivial application of the Quantum Inverse Scattering method to the fully anisotropic XYZ Heisenberg chain is described in Sect. 18. Sect. 19 deals with integrable cases of isotropic spin chains with an arbitrary spin.
