Different factorizations of the relativistic finite-difference Schroedinger equation and q-oscillators

Abstract

The concept of the one -- dimensional quantum mechanics in the relativistic configurational space (RQM) is reviewed briefly. The Relativistic Schroedinger equation (RSE) arising here is the finite-difference equation with the step equal to the Compton wave length of the particle. The different generalizations of the Dirac -- Infeld -- Hall factorizarion method for this case are constructed. This method enables us to find out all possible finite-difference generalizations of the most important nonrelativistic integrable case -- the harmonic oscillator. As it was shown (\cite{kmn},\cite{mir6}) in RQM the harmonic oscillator = $q$ -- oscillator. It is also shown that the relativistic and nonrelativistic QM's are different representations of the same theory. Thetransformation connecting these two representations is found in explicit form. It could be considered as the generalization of the Kontorovich -- Lebedev transformation.

Factorization method for Schrödinger equation in relativistic configuration space and q-deformations

R. M. Mir‐Kasimov

Review paper is devoted to the relativistic configuration space (RCS) concept, a version of the relativistic Quantum Mechanics in RCS, the generalization of the Dirac-Infeld-Hall factorization method in the framework of the noncommutative differential calculus natural for RCS, different versions of the deformed oscillators, emerging as the generalization of the harmonic oscillator for RCS. In the formulation of the Newton-Wigner postulates for the relativistic localized states the hypothesis of commutativity of the position operator components is silently accepted as an evident fact. In the present work it is shown that commutativity is not necessary condition and the alternative (noncommutative) approach to the relativistic position operator and localization concept can be realized in a framework of the physically as well as mathematically comprehensive scheme. The different generalizations of the Dirac-Infeld-Hall factorization method for this case are constructed. This method enables us to find out all possible generalizations of the most important nonrelativistic integrable case—the harmonic oscillator. It is shown also that the relativistic oscillator = q —oscillator.

The covariant linear oscillator and generalized realization of the dynamical SU(1,1) symmetry algebra

E. D. Kagramanov, R. M. Mir‐Kasimov, Sh. M. Nagiyev

An exactly solvable problem for the finite-difference Schrödinger equation in the relativistic configurational space is considered. The appropriate finite-difference generalization of the factorization method is developed. The theory of new special functions ‘‘the relativistic Hermite polynomials,’’ in which the solutions are expressed, is constructed.

Models of damped oscillators in quantum mechanics

Ricardo Cordero–Soto, Erwin Suazo, Sergeĭ K. Suslov

We consider several models of the damped oscillators in nonrelativistic quantum mechanics in a framework of a general approach to the dynamics of the time-dependent Schroedinger equation with variable quadratic Hamiltonians. The Green functions are explicitly found in terms of elementary functions and the corresponding gauge transformations are discussed. The factorization technique is applied to the case of a shifted harmonic oscillator. The time-evolution of the expectation values of the energy related operators is determined for two models of the quantum damped oscillators under consideration. The classical equations of motion for the damped oscillations are derived for the corresponding expectation values of the position operator.

Harmonic oscillators in relativistic quantum mechanics

F. Masafumi Toyama, Yukihisa Nogami

For the Dirac equation in one space dimension, we examine the possibility of harmonic oscillator (HO) potentials. A HO potential is such that it has only bound states and the energy levels are equally spaced. Regarding their Lorentz transformation properties, there are three types of potentials for the Dirac equation: vector, scalar, and pseudoscalar. HO potentials are possible for the scalar and pseudoscalar types, but not for the vector type. We show how HO potentials can be constructed by means of the ``inverse scattering method.'' We also examine the behavior of a wave packet in the HO potentials so constructed. The behavior is, in most of the cases, very similar to that of Schr\"odinger's coherent wave packet of the nonrelativistic harmonic oscillator.

Discrete Phase Space, String-Like Phase Cells, and Relativistic Quantum Mechanics

Anadijiban Das, Sourav Haldar

The discrete phase space representation of quantum mechanics involving a characteristic length is investigated. The continuous (1 + 1)-dimensional phase space is first discussed for the sake of simplicity. It is discretized into denumerable infinite number of concentric circles. These circles, endowed with “unit area”, are degenerate phase cells resembling closed strings.Next, Schrödinger wave equation for one particle in the three dimensional space under the influence of a static potential is studied in the discrete phase space representation of wave mechanics. The Schrödinger equation in the arena of discrete phase space is a partial difference equation. The energy eigenvalue problem for a three dimensional oscillator is exactly solved.Next, relativistic wave equations in the scenario of three dimensional discrete phase space and continuous time are explored. Specially, the partial finite difference-differential equation for a scalar field is investigated for the sake of simplicity. The exact relativistic invariance of the partial finite difference-differential version of the Klein-Gordon equation is rigorously proved. Moreover, it is shown that all nine important Green’s functions of the partial finite difference-differential wave equation for the scalar field are non-singular.In the appendix, a possible physical interpretation for the discrete orbits in the phase space as degenerate, string-like phase cells is provided in a mathematically rigorous way.
