FATEEV-ZAMOLODCHIKOV SPIN CHAIN: EXCITATION SPECTRUM, COMPLETENESS AND THERMODYNAMICS

Abstract

The sector of zero ZN charge is studied for the ferromagnetic (FM) and antiferromagnetic (AFM) version of the (ZN×Z2)-invariant Fateev-Zamolodchikov quantum spin chain. We conjecture that the relevant Bethe ansatz equations should admit, besides the usual stringlike solutions, exceptional multiplets, and a number of nonphysical solutions. Once the physical ones are identified, we show how completeness and the gapless excitation spectrum can be obtained. The central charge is computed from the specific heat and found to be [Formula: see text] (FM) and c=1 (AFM).

A Bethe Ansatz study of free energy and excitation spectrum for even spin Fateev–Zamolodchikov model

Subhankar Ray, J. Shamanna

A Bethe–Ansatz study of a self-dual ZN spin model is undertaken for even spin system. One must solve a coupled system of Bethe–Ansatz equations (BAE) involving zeroes of two families of transfer matrices. A numerical study on finite size lattices is done for identification of elementary excitations over the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic ground states. The free energies for both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic ground states and dispersion relation for elementary excitations are found.

Bethe ansatz study for ground state of Fateev Zamolodchikov model

Subhankar Ray

A Bethe ansatz study of a self-dual ZN spin lattice model, originally proposed by V. A. Fateev and A. B. Zamolodchikov, is undertaken. The connection of this model to the Chiral Potts model is established. Transcendental equations connecting the zeros of Fateev–Zamolodchikov transfer matrix are derived. The free energies for the ferromagnetic and the anti-ferromagnetic ground states are found for both even and odd spins.

The operator content of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic spin-1 Zamolodchikov-Fateev quantum chain

D. Baranowski, V. Rittenberg

The finite-size scaling spectra of the spin-1 Zamolodchikov-Fateev chain for an even and odd number of sites are presented. The operator content is given for free as well as toroidal boundary conditions. In the case of the antiferromagnetic chain the authors give separately the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic excitations.

Critical properties of the Izergin-Korepin and solvable O(n) models and their related quantum spin chains

S. Ole Warnaar, Murray T. Batchelor, Bernard Nienhuis

The central charge of the Izergin-Korepin model the corresponding quantum spin chain, and the O (n) model is calculated analytically via the Bethe ansatz. The calculation extends a technique recently developed for the Zamolodchikov-Fateev model. In addition critical exponents and the central charge for these models are obtained from numerical solutions of Bethe ansatz equations for finite systems. As a physical application the authors find the exponents v=12/23 and gamma =53/46 for the Theta -transition of polymers in two dimensions.

Bethe-ansatz type equations for the Fateev-Zamolodchikov spin model

Giuseppe Albertini

The eigenvalues of the Fateev-Zamolodchikov Z N invariant model transfer matrix are found for N odd. Their zeros in the complex plane of the rapidity variable are shown to satisfy a set of Bethe-ansatz type equations similar to those obtained for the integrable XXZ chains. The eigenvalue for a filled sea of (N-1)-strings gives the free energy found by the matrix inversion method.
