Uniqueness regime for Markov dynamics on quantum lattice spin systems

Nick Crawford, Wojciech De Roeck, Marius Schütz

We consider a lattice of weakly interacting quantum Markov processes. Without interaction, the dynamics at each site is relaxing exponentially to a unique stationary state. With interaction, we show that there remains a unique stationary state in the thermodynamic limit, i.e. absence of phase coexistence, and the relaxation towards it is exponentially fast for local observables. We do not assume that the quantum Markov process is reversible (detailed balance) w.r.t. a local Hamiltonian.

Quantum Markov Process on a Lattice

T. Hashimoto, M. Horibe, A. Hayashi

We develop a systematic description of Weyl and Fano operators on a lattice phase space. Introducing the so-called ghost variable even on an odd lattice, odd and even lattices can be treated in a symmetric way. The Wigner function is defined using these operators on the quantum phase space, which can be interpreted as a spin phase space. If we extend the space with a dichotomic variable, a positive distribution function can be defined on the new space. It is shown that there exits a quantum Markov process on the extended space which describes the time evolution of the distribution function. 1.

QUANTUM MARKOV FIELDS

Luigi Accardi, Francesco Fidaleo

The Markov property for quantum lattice systems is investigated in terms of generalized conditional expectations. General properties of (particular cases of) quantum Markov fields, i.e. quantum Markov processes with multi-dimensional indices, are pointed out. In such a way, deep connections with the KMS boundary condition, as well as phenomena of phase transitions and symmetry breaking, naturally emerge.
