Abstract

We reexamine the Yang-Yang-Takahashi method of deriving the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations which describe strongly correlated electron systems of fundamental physical interest, such as the Hubbard, $s-d$ exchange (Kondo) and Anderson models. It is shown that these equations contain some additional terms which may play an important role in the physics of the systems.

EXACT SOLUTION OF AN ELECTRONIC MODEL OF SUPERCONDUCTIVITY

Fabian H. L. Eßler, V. E. Korepin, Kareljan Schoutens

We study the exact solution of a superconducting model of strongly correlated electrons in 1+1 dimensions. We explain the method of solution and explicitly derive the fundamental Bethe equations that determine the physical properties of the model in the thermodynamic limit. We also give explicit expressions for the conserved quantum integrals of motion in the model and prove a lowest weight theorem for the Bethe Ansatz states.

Thermodynamics of the Kondo model with electronic interactions

Shi-Jian Gu, You‐Quan Li, Hai-Qing Lin

On the basis of the Bethe ansatz solution of the one-dimensional Kondo model with electronic interaction, the thermodynamics equilibrium of the system at finite temperature is studied in terms of the strategy of Yang and Yang. The string hypothesis in the spin rapidity is discussed extensively. The thermodynamics quantities, such as the specific heat and the magnetic susceptibility, are obtained.

A NEW INTEGRABLE MODEL OF STRONGLY CORRELATED ELECTRONS WITH HUBBARD-LIKE INTERACTION

Xiangyu Ge

A new completely integrable model of strongly correlated electrons is proposed which describes two competitive interactions: one is the correlated one-particle hopping, the other is the Hubbard-like interaction. The integrability follows from the fact that the Hamiltonian is derivable from a one-parameter family of commuting transfer matrices. The Bethe ansatz equations are derived by algebraic Bethe ansatz method.

Integrabilities of thet-Jmodel with impurities

Zhan-Ning Hu, Fu-Cho Pu, Yupeng Wang

The Hamiltonian with magnetic impurities coupled to the strongly correlated electron system is constructed from the t - J model. It is diagonalized exactly by using the Bethe ansatz method. Our boundary matrices depend on the spins of the electrons. The Kondo problem in this system is discussed in detail. The integral equations are derived with complex rapidities which describe the bound states in the system. The finite-size corrections for the ground-state energies are obtained.

Models of Quantum Matter

Hans-Peter Eckle

Abstract This book focuses on the theory of quantum matter, strongly interacting systems of quantum many–particle physics, particularly on their study using exactly solvable and quantum integrable models with Bethe ansatz methods. Part 1 explores the fundamental methods of statistical physics and quantum many–particle physics required for an understanding of quantum matter. It also presents a selection of the most important model systems to describe quantum matter ranging from the Hubbard model of condensed matter physics to the Rabi model of quantum optics. The remaining five parts of the book examines appropriate special cases of these models with respect to their exact solutions using Bethe ansatz methods for the ground state, finite–size, and finite temperature properties. They also demonstrate the quantum integrability of an exemplary model, the Heisenberg quantum spin chain, within the framework of the quantum inverse scattering method and through the algebraic Bethe ansatz. Further models, whose Bethe ansatz solutions are derived and examined, include the Bose and Fermi gases in one dimension, the one–dimensional Hubbard model, the Kondo model, and the quantum Tavis–Cummings model, the latter a model descendent from the Rabi model.

Integrability of strongly correlated electron systems on open chains

Integrability of strongly correlated electron systems on open chains XIANG-YU GEIn recent years, there has been a strong increase of interest in models of strongly correlated electron systems in condensed matter physics, in particular in integrable onedimensional models.Examples of such models are the one-dimensional Hubbard model, the supersymmetric t-J model, the Hubbard-like model (Bariev's chain), the so-called extended Hubbard model (EKS model), the supersymmetric U model and the eight-state supersymmetric U model. The study of integrable open-boundary conditions for strongly correlated electron models is very important for physical applications, especially for gaining insights into the behaviour of more realistic systems. The important ingredient in Sklyanin's boundary quantum inverse scattering method (QISM), which has played a key role in recent advances in the study of lattice models with open-boundaries, is a new algebraic structure, the reflection equation algebra. In this thesis, a general graded reflection equation algebra is proposed and the corresponding graded (supersymmetry) boundary QISM is formulated. The formalism is applicable to all boundary lattice systems where an invertible i?-matrix exists. As applications, some important integrable boundary conditions for various strongly correlated electron models with quantum superalgebra symmetries are constructed, including:1.
