Excited State TBA and Functional Relations in Spinless Fermion Model

Abstract

The excited state thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations for the spinless Fermion model are presented by the quantum transfer matrix (QTM) approach. We introduce a more general family called T-functions and explore functional relations among them (T-system) and their certain combinations (Y-system). {}From their analytical property, we derive a closed set of non-linear integral equations which characterize the correlation length of $$ at any finite temperatures. Solving these equations numerically, we explicitly determine the correlation length, which coincides with earlier results with high accuracy.

THERMODYNAMIC BETHE ANSATZ EQUATION FROM FUSION HIERARCHY OF osp (1|2) INTEGRABLE SPIN CHAIN

KAZUMITSU SAKAI, ZENGO TSUBOI

The thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) and the excited state TBA equations for an integrable spin chain related to the Lie superalgebra osp (1|2) are proposed by the quantum transfer matrix (QTM) method. We introduce the fusion hierarchy of the QTM and derive the functional relations among them (T-system) and their certain combinations (Y-system). Their analytical property leads to the nonlinear integral equations which describe the free energy and the correlation length at any finite temperatures. With regard to the free energy, they coincide with the TBA equation based on the string hypothesis.

Equivalence of TBA and QTM

Minoru Takahashi, Masahiro Shiroishi, Andreas Klümper

The traditional thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations for the XXZ model at |Δ|⩾1 are derived within the quantum transfer matrix method. This provides further evidence of the equivalence of both methods. Most importantly, we derive an integral equation for the free energy formulated for just one unknown function. This integral equation differs in physical and mathematical aspects to the established ones. The single integral equation is analytically continued to the regime |Δ|<1.

The thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz approach to exactly solvable models in statistical mechanics and quantum field theory

R.M. Ellem

RSOS models and their associated RZMS scattering QFT models, this is certainly not the case, and here the corresponding TBA equations have been derived only in a few special cases. This shortcoming provides the primary motivation for the work contained in this thesis. After presenting a brief review of the various techniques for deriving the TBA equations associated with the ground state energy for the 0 lj3 perturbations of the minimal CFT models, attempts are made at extending these techniques to the derivation of the TBA equations associated with the ground state energy of the 0 i;2 and perturbations of the minimal CFT models.More recently, the functional relation approach for constructing the ground state TBA equations was extended to the derivation of TBA-like integral equations which correspond to excited state energy levels. In principle, this approach can be used to determine the complete energy spectrum of the perturbed CFT, but in practice this is a very difficult undertaking and only the lowest few excited states are rela tively easily to obtain. In the final chapter of this thesis, this approach is used to determine the TBA-like equations corresponding to the lowest three energy levels of a particular simple perturbed CFT, notably the non-unitary minimal CFT perturbed by its operator <^2,i-L ist o f P u b lic a tio n sThe bulk of the original research content of this thesis is contained in Chapters 4, 5 and 6, with some numerical results tabulated in Appendices B and C. A Riemann-Hilbert formulation for the finite temperature Hubbard model

Andrea Cavaglià, Martina Cornagliotto, Massimo Mattelliano +1 more

Inspired by recent results in the context of AdS/CFT integrability, we reconsider the Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz equations describing the 1D fermionic Hubbard model at finite temperature. We prove that the infinite set of TBA equations are equivalent to a simple nonlinear Riemann-Hilbert problem for a finite number of unknown functions. The latter can be transformed into a set of three coupled nonlinear integral equations defined over a finite support, which can be easily solved numerically. We discuss the emergence of an exact Bethe Ansatz and the link between the TBA approach and the results by Jüttner, Klümper and Suzuki based on the Quantum Transfer Matrix method. We also comment on the analytic continuation mechanism leading to excited states and on the mirror equations describing the finite-size Hubbard model with twisted boundary conditions.

Nonlinear integral equations for thermodynamics of thesl(r 1) Uimin Sutherland model

Zengo Tsuboi

We derive traditional thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations for the sl ( r + 1) Uimin–Sutherland model from the T -system of the quantum transfer matrix. These TBA equations are identical to the those from the string hypothesis. Next we derive a new family of nonlinear integral equations (NLIEs). In particular, a subset of these NLIEs forms a system of NLIEs which contains only a finite number of unknown functions. For r = 1, this subset of NLIEs reduces to Takahashi's NLIE for the XXX spin chain. A relation between the traditional TBA equations and our new NLIEs is clarified. Based on our new NLIEs, we also calculate the high-temperature expansion of the free energy.

TBA equations for excited states in the sine–Gordon model

János Balog, Árpád Hegedűs

We propose TBA integral equations for multiparticle soliton (fermion) states in the Sine-Gordon (massive Thirring) model. This is based on T-system and Y-system equations, which follow from the Bethe Ansatz solution in the light-cone lattice formulation of the model. Even and odd charge sectors are treated on an equal footing, corresponding to periodic and twisted boundary conditions, respectively. The analytic properties of the Y-system functions are conjectured on the basis of the large volume solution of the system, which we find explicitly. A simple relation between the TBA Y-functions and the counting function variable of the alternative non-linear integral equation (Destri-deVega equation) description of the model is given.
