Algebraic and analytic properties of the one-dimensional Hubbard model

Abstract

We reconsider the quantum inverse scattering approach to the one-dimensional Hubbard model and work out some of its basic features so far omitted in the literature. It is our aim to show that the R-matrix and monodromy matrix of the Hubbard model, which have now been known for ten years, have good elementary properties. We provide a meromorphic parametrization of the transfer matrix in terms of elliptic functions. We identify the momentum operator for lattice fermions in the expansion of the transfer matrix with respect to the spectral parameter and thereby show the locality and translational invariance of all higher conserved quantities. We work out the transformation properties of the monodromy matrix under the su(2) Lie algebra of rotations and under the -pairing su(2) Lie algebra. Our results imply invariance of the transfer matrix for the model on a chain with an even number of sites.

(4) symmetry of the transfer matrix for the one-dimensional Hubbard model

Masahiro Shiroishi, Hideaki Ujino, Miki Wadati

The SO (4) invariance of the transfer matrix for the one-dimensional Hubbard model is clarified from the viewpoint of the quantum inverse scattering method. We demonstrate the SO (4) symmetry by means of the fermionic L -operator and the fermionic R -matrix, which satisfy the graded Yang-Baxter relation. The transformation law of the fermionic L -operator under the SO (4) rotation is identified with a kind of gauge transformation, which determines the corresponding transformation of the fermionic creation and annihilation operators under the SO (4) rotation. The transfer matrix is confirmed to be invariant under the SO (4) rotation, which ensures the SO (4) invariance of the conserved currents including the Hamiltonian. Furthermore, we show that the representation of the higher conserved currents in terms of the Clifford algebra gives manifestly SO (4) invariant forms.

FermionicR-Operator and Algebraic Structure of 1D Hubbard Model: Its Application to Quantum Transfer Matrix

Yukiko Umeno

The algebraic structure of the 1D Hubbard model is studied by means of the fermionic R-operator approach. This approach treats the fermion models directly in the framework of the quantum inverse scattering method. Compared with the graded approach, this approach has several advantages. First, the global properties of the Hamiltonian are naturally reflected in the algebraic properties of the fermionic R-operator. We want to note that this operator is a local operator acting on fermion Fock spaces. In particular, SO(4) symmetry and the invariance under the partial particle hole transformation are discussed. Second, we can construct a genuinely fermionic quantum transfer transfer matrix (QTM) in terms of the fermionic R-operator. Using the algebraic Bethe Ansatz for the Hubbard model, we diagonalize the fermionic QTM and discuss its properties.

Yangian Symmetry and Quantum Inverse Scattering Method for the One-Dimensional Hubbard Model

Murakami, S, Gohmann, F, 村上修一 +1 more

We develop the quantum inverse scattering method for the one-dimensional Hubbard model on the infinite interval at zero density. R-matrix and monodromy matrix are obtained as limits from their known counterparts on the finite interval. The R-matrix greatly simplifies in the considered limit. The new R-matrix contains a submatrix which turns into the rational R-matrix of the XXX-chain by an appropriate reparametrization. The corresponding submatrix of the monodromy matrix thus provides a representation of the Y(su(2)) Yangian. From its quantum determinant we obtain an infinite series of mutually commuting Yangian invariant operators which includes the Hamiltonian. Conserved Quantities for Spin Models and Fermion Models

Eugenio Olmedilla, Miki Wadati

Based on the quantum inverse scattering method, we present a systematic method to derive the conserved quantities (conserved operators) for integrable quantum systems. For spin models and fermion models, we show that the transfer matrix is put into a product form from which we readily have a sequence of conserved quantities. In particular, we explicitly give higher conserved quantities for the one-dimensional Hubbard model.

The su(n) Hubbard model

Z. Maassarani

The one-dimensional Hubbard model is known to possess an extended su(2) symmetry and to be integrable. I indroduce an integrable model with an extended su(n) symmetry. This model contains the usual su(2) Hubbard model and has a set of features that make it the su(n) generalization of the Hubbard model. Complete integrability is shown by introducing the L-matrix and showing that the transfer matrix commutes with the hamiltonian. While the model is integrable in one dimension, it provides a generalization of the Hubbard hamiltonian in any dimension.

On integrability of the one-dimensional Hubbard model

A. Melikyan

We find a family of solutions to Zamolodchikov's tetrahedral algebra corresponding to the fermionic R-operator for the free fermion model of the difference type in one of the spectral parameters, construct an extension of the R-operator for a system of two spins satisfying the Yang-Baxter equation, and find the local charges. We also construct a twisted monodromy operator, which leads to the one-dimensional Hubbard model.
