Abstract

The general expression for the local matrix $L(θ)$ of a quantum chain with the site space in any representation of $su(3)$ is obtained. This is made by generalizing $L(θ)$ from the fundamental representation and imposing the fulfilment of the Yang-Baxter equation. Then, a non-homogeneous spin chain combining different representations of $su(3)$ is solved by a method inspired in the nested Bethe ansatz. The solution for the eigenvalues of the trace of the monodromy matrix is given as two coupled Bethe equations. A conjecture about the solution of a chain with the site states in different representations of $su(n)$ is presented.

Method for solving integrable A2 spin chains combining different representations

J. Abad, M. Rios

A nonhomogeneous spin chain in the representations {3} and {${3}^{*}$} of ${A}_{2}$ is analyzed. We find that the naive nested Bethe ansatz is not applicable to this case. A method inspired in the nested Bethe ansatz that can be applied to more general cases is developed for that chain. The solution for the eigenvalues of the trace of the monodromy matrix is given as two coupled Bethe equations different from that for a homogeneous chain. A conjecture about the form of the solutions for more general chains is presented.

Bethe ansatz equations for quantum chains combining different representations ofSU(3)

J. Abad, M Rios

The general expression for the local matrix of a quantum chain with the site space in any representation of is obtained. This is made by generalizing from the fundamental representation and imposing the fulfilment of the Yang - Baxter equation. With these operators and using a generalization of the nested Bethe ansatz, the Bethe equations for a multistate quantum chain combining two arbitrary representations of SU(3) are obtained.

A representation basis for the quantum integrable spin chain associated with the su(3) algebra

Kun Hao, Junpeng Cao, Guang-Liang Li +3 more

An orthogonal basis of the Hilbert space for the quantum spin chain associated with the su(3) algebra is introduced. Such kind of basis could be treated as a nested generalization of separation of variables (SoV) basis for high-rank quantum integrable models. It is found that all the monodromy-matrix elements acting on a basis vector take simple forms. With the help of the basis, we construct eigenstates of the su(3) inhomogeneous spin torus (the trigonometric su(3) spin chain with antiperiodic boundary condition) from its spectrum obtained via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz (ODBA). Based on small sites (i.e. N = 2) check, it is conjectured that the homogeneous limit of the eigenstates exists, which gives rise to the corresponding eigenstates of the homogenous model.

The nested Bethe ansatz for ‘all’ open spin chains with diagonal boundary conditions

S. Belliard, E. Ragoucy

We present in a unified and detailed way the nested Bethe ansatz for open spin chains based on(super)algebras, with arbitrary representations (i.e., 'spins') on each site of the chain and diagonal boundary matrices (K + (u), K -(u)).The nested Bethe ansatz applies for a general K -(u), but a particular form of the K + (u) matrix. The construction extends and unifies the results already obtained for open spin chains based on the fundamental representation and for some particular superspin chains. We give the eigenvalues, Bethe equations and the explicit form of the Bethe vectors for the corresponding models. The Bethe vectors are also expressed using a trace formula.

Matrix difference equations and a nested Bethe ansatz

H. Babujian, M. Karowski, A. Zapletal

The system of SU(N)- and U(N)-matrix difference equations are solved by means of a nested version of a generalized Bethe ansatz, also the called `off shell' Bethe ansatz (Babujian H M 1990 Correlation functions in WZNW model as a Bethe wavefunction for the Gaudin magnets Proc. XXIVth Int. Symp. (Ahrenshoop, Zeuthen)). To solve this new Bethe ansatz in the algebraic language analogous to the conventional case, a new type of monodromy matrices is introduced. They fulfil a new type of Yang - Baxter equations which simplify the proofs. Using a similar approach as for the conventional nested Bethe ansatz the problem is solved iteratively. The vanishing of the `unwanted terms' of the first level ansatz is equivalent to a set of second level difference equations. The solutions are obtained as sums over `off-shell' Bethe vectors. These sums are `Jackson-type integrals'. The highest weight property of the solutions is proved. The solutions are calculated explicitly for several examples of SU(N)- and U(N)-representations.
