Condensate of low dimensional charged Bose disks in a uniform magnetic field

Abstract

The Bose condensation of a stack of low dimensional disks which is composed of a noninteracting charged Bose gas in a uniform magnetic field is studied. A statistical approach with density of states at noninteger dimensions are applied for the system. The condensate fraction of the disk system in a uniform magnetic field is calculated. The stack of low dimensional charged Bose disks is found not to share the condensate behavior of the traditional BCS superfluids.

Condensate of charged Bose disks with numerous holes in a uniform magnetic field

Sanghoon Kim

A stack of disks with numerous holes composed of a non-interacting charged Bose gas is modeled as a low dimensional disk. The Bose condensation of the net-like disk system in a uniform magnetic field is studied. Calculation of the condensate fraction of the net-like disk system showed that there still exists a non-zero condensate fraction at low temperature and in weak field.

Condensation of a charged relativistic Bose gas in the presence of a magnetic field

David E. Miller, P. S. Ray

The relationship between the two different ordering procedures taking place in an ideal charged relativistic Bose gas in the presence of a uniform external magnetic field B is investigated in an arbitrary number of spatial dimensions d. In particular the analytical form of the charge-density condensate ${q}_{c}$ and the magnetization density \ensuremath{\rho} are calculated as a function of B and the inverse temperature \ensuremath{\beta} for relativistic bosons without spin. In the small-field limit (B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}0) this system exhibits the complete restoration of the symmetry of the ideal relativistic Bose gas for all d at any finite temperature.

Bose-Einstein condensation in a constant magnetic field

Hugo Pérez Rojas, Leonardo Villegas-Lelovsky

We discuss the occurrence of Bose-Einstein condensation in systems of noninteracting charged particles in three and one dimensions and in presence of an external magnetic field. In the one dimensional, as well as in the magnetic field cases, although not a critical temperature, a characteristic temperature can be found, corresponding to the case in which the ground state density becomes a macroscopic fraction of the total density. The case of relativistic charged scalar and vector particles is studied. The results give support to the existence of superconductivity in extremely strong magnetic fields, and lead to the prediction of superconductive-ferromagnetic behavior in the vector field case, which might be of interest in condensed matter as well as in cosmology. Some features of the magnetization in the early universe are conjectured.

Bose–Einstein condensation of two-dimensional spin-1 Cooper pairs in a uniform magnetic field

Ze Cheng

Abstract Bose–Einstein condensation of two-dimensional spin-1 Cooper pairs in a uniform magnetic field is investigated within the framework of quantum statistical mechanics. We derive an exact analytical solution of two-dimensional spin-1 Cooper pairs in a uniform magnetic field, which involves a q -digamma function in mathematics. In two dimensions, it is found that the critical temperature and condensate fraction are monotonically increasing functions of magnetic field B , Landé factor g , and number density σ . Our investigation in two dimensions provides an example of the magnetic-field-tuned insulator-superconductor quantum phase transition.

Bose – Einstein condensation of magnetized charged scalar bosons revisited

Gretel Quintero Angulo, Aurora Pérez Martínez, Hugo Pérez Rojas

Abstract We study the effects of a uniform and constant magnetic field on the Bose–Einstein condensation (BEC) of relativistic charged scalar bosons. The condensation of magnetized charged bosons is usually discussed in the weak or strong field regimes separately, and in each case, the properties predicted for the condensate are different. Here, we develop a low‐temperature analysis suitable for any field that allows us to observe how the gas behaves for intermediate values of the magnetic field. We find that BEC may occur at finite magnetic fields, despite the gas becoming effectively one‐dimensional due to Landau quantization of the momentum perpendicular to the magnetic axis.
