Functional Integrals in the Strong Coupling Regime and the Polaron Self‐Energy

Гарий Владимирович Ефимов, Gurjav Ganbold

Abstract A general method of representation of functional integrals in the strong coupling regime is developed. This method is applied to the computing of polaron ground state energy at large coupling constant.

Path-integral approach to Cooper pairs and charged bosons

A. S. Alexandrov, S. G. Rubin

With the functional-integral technique, equations for the excitation spectrum of fermions with an arbitrary strong attraction are obtained. The evolution of the BCS excitation spectrum in the weak-coupling regime to the excitations of a Bose gas in the strong-coupling regime is discussed. To obtain the Bogolubov sound in the strong-coupling regime, four-particle correlations are taken into account. The functional integration allows a discussion of the excitations at a finite temperature and a controlled treatment of the problem of maximum attainable ${\mathit{T}}_{\mathit{c}}$.

Fermionic duality

Nicolas Sourlas

Duality transformations play a very important role in theoretical physics. In this paper I propose new duality transformations for fermionic theories. They map the strong coupling regime of one theory to the weak coupling regime of another theory. These transformations are based on the functional integral representation of the fermionic theories in terms of Grassmann variables and rely heavily on the properties of Grassmann variables. Potential applications include the study of the strong coupling phase of the two dimensional Hubbard model.
