Strontium Optical Atomic Clocks in KL FAMO Blue Detuned Lattice for Strontium Atoms and Project of a Continuous Active Optical Clock with Cold Strontium Atoms

We would like to report on a design of new type of optical atomic clock - a continuous active clock with cold strontium atoms, as well as on progress with lattice clocks in KL FAMO. The active clock design will use blue detuned optical lattice to provide the Lamb-Dicke regime in the optical cavity, where conditions for superradiance emission on the clock transition will be meet. Studies of the blue detuned magic wavelength for88Sr will be presented together with possibility to create a state dependence, blue detuned optical lattice.

Towards a Continuous Active Optical Atomic Clock With Cold Strontium Atoms

Marcin Bober, Sławomir Bilicki, Anahit L. Gogyan +7 more

We present a setup designed for an active optical atomic clock operating at the clock transition (1S0-3P0) with cold strontium atoms. The apparatus is designed for continuous operation, and it is designed for both 87Sr and 88Sr isotopes.

Open-source electronics ecosystem for optical atomic clocks

Piotr Morzyński, Sławomir Bilicki, Marcin Bober +4 more

Abstract We present an open-source hardware and software ecosystem for optical atomic clocks. We provide PCB schematics and fabrication files for manufacturing the most important electronic systems together with the required software. The boards are designed for an active bad-cavity superradiant strontium clock and a passive optical lattice strontium clock, but they can be easily adapted to other atomic species’ optical atomic clocks or ultra-cold atoms’ systems like magneto-optical traps or Bose–Einstein condensate setups.
