Complete characterization of qubit masking

Xiao-Bin Liang, Bo Li, Shao-Ming Fei

We study the problem of information masking through nonzero linear operators that distribute information encoded in single qubits to the correlations between two qubits. It is shown that a nonzero linear operator cannot mask any nonzero measure set of qubit states. We prove that the maximal maskable set of states on the Bloch sphere with respect to any masker is the ones on a spherical circle. Any states on a spherical circle on the Bloch sphere are maskable, which also proves the conjecture on maskable qubit states given by Modi et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 120, 230501 (2018)]. we provide explicitly operational unitary maskers for all maskable sets. As applications, different protocols for secret sharing are introduced.

Complexity in One- and Two-Qubit Systems

Reginald J. Caginalp, Samuel Leutheusser

We numerically analyze the complexity of unitary time-evolution and precursor operators in one- and two-qubit systems using the framework of Nielsen complexity geometry. We find that, as expected, the complexities of unitary time evolution operators grow linearly with time, at least initially, for both the one- and two-qubit cases. The precursor operators display switchback-effect-like behavior provided we choose our cost factors so that the resulting complexity geometry is negatively curved.

Two and Three-Qubits Geometry, Quaternionic and Octonionic Conformal maps, and Intertwining Hopf Fibration

G. Najarbashi, B. Seifi, Sevda Mirzaei

In this paper the geometry of two and three-qubit states under local unitary groups is discussed. We first review the one qubit geometry and its relation with Riemanian sphere under the action of group $SU(2)$. We show that the second Hopf fiberation intertwines between local unitary group $SU(2)\otimes SU(2)$ and quaternionic M\obius transformation. The invariant term appearing in this operation is related to concurrence measure. Yet, there exists the same intertwining Hopf map for much more global group $Sp(2)$, generalizing the familiar Bloch sphere in 2-level systems. Subsequently, we introduce third Hopf fiberation and octonionic conformal map (or octonionic M\obius maps) for three-qubit states and find evidence that they may have invariant terms under local unitary operations which shows that both maps have entanglement sensitive.
