Abstract

This research announcement establishes the exact minimal observable realizations and underlying Hankel operator dimensions for an open four-qubit system governed by a finite-dimensional Lindblad master equation. We present complete numerical and algebraic validation showing that the minimal realization dimension (\(r_{\min }\)) undergoes a discrete structural transition between two distinct parameter values. Under exact rational arithmetic calculations evaluated over a finite field (\(\bmod\ 1,000,003\)), the system's output dynamics compress to a closed invariant subspace of exactly 21 dimensions at the baseline parameter state (\(a = 0.6\)), and expands to exactly 23 dimensions under a perturbed configuration (\(a = 0.601\)). This rank change rigorously indicates an exceptional parameter-space bifurcation. This post serves as an official time-stamped registration of these specific realization limits, verifying the exact dimensions of the observable manifolds prior to the publication of full derivation proofs and physical hardware tracking datasets.

Finite Realizations and Effective Memory in Nonlinear Quantum Filtering

Jacob Emerson

Nonlinear dynamics generate non-Gaussian states and operations, but they also make continuously monitored quantum systems difficult to track. A quantum filter performs this task by compressing a noisy measurement record into a set of evolving variables that predict future observables. For Gaussian dynamics, this compression is exact and finite. In nonlinear systems, conventional moment equations generally expand without bound, but the failure of one representation does not prove that every finite description is impossible. Here we formulate quantum filtering as a realization problem for general quantum input--output maps. We introduce the linearized observable Hankel operator $K_O$, which maps changes in the past measurement record to changes in a future conditional observable. Any finite-dimensional smooth filter forces $K_O$ to have finite rank, so infinite rank provides a coordinate-independent proof that no exact finite-dimensional filter exists. Applied to single-mode polynomial bosonic systems under continuous quadrature monitoring, this yields a sharp boundary: Gaussian dynamics and the measurement-aligned Conditional Momentum Moment class admit finite realizations, whereas dynamics outside these classes produce infinitely many response directions and admit no finite-dimensional smooth exact filter. Exact impossibility, however, need not imply large practical complexity. The singular values of $K_O$ quantify how many response directions matter at a chosen local accuracy, defining the effective memory of an observable. For the Kerr and Duffing oscillators, these singular values decay rapidly despite infinite exact rank, showing that infinite exact memory can coexist with low finite-accuracy complexity. The framework therefore separates exact realizability from effective complexity in nonlinear quantum filtering.

Algebraic structures of the Lindblad equation

Leonel Bixano, Guillermo López-Alvarez, Victor Alberto Cruz-Barriguete +4 more

We investigate the algebraic structure underlying the Lindblad equation for finite-dimensional open quantum systems. By introducing a suitable operator representation of the Liouville superoperator, we show that the dynamics can be formulated in terms of a closed algebra of Hermitian operators that is independent of the particular physical model. This formulation reveals that dissipative dynamics requires a substantially richer algebraic structure than purely unitary evolution, thereby providing a clear characterization of the additional complexity introduced by the Lindbladian. The resulting framework naturally leads to parametrizations of the dynamical map and to differential equations governing its evolution. We further derive recursion relations that enable the efficient construction of the algebra for systems of increasing dimension. Because the algebraic basis is universal, while all model-dependent information enters through a single set of coefficients, the proposed approach significantly reduces the computational cost of constructing the Liouville superoperator compared with direct methods. To facilitate the implementation of the method, we provide a Mathematica notebook containing a one-qubit example that can be systematically extended to an arbitrary number of qubits. The proposed framework therefore provides both a general mathematical description of finite-dimensional Lindblad dynamics and a practical foundation for efficient analytical and numerical implementations.

Exact finite-dimensional reduction of Wigner dynamics for open quantum systems using EGQPDs

Peng Guo

Abstract Simulating non-Gaussian quantum dynamics in open continuous-variable systems is notoriously challenging: exact methods scale exponentially, while approximations sacrifice non-classical features such as Wigner negativity. Here we introduce an exact finite-dimensional reduction that overcomes this curse of dimensionality. We prove that the algebra of extended Gaussian quasi-probability densities (EGQPDs) is closed under Lindblad evolution with linear jump operators, reducing the infinite-dimensional Wigner PDE to a closed system of ODEs that scales polynomially with the number of modes. A necessary and sufficient condition for closure is established: the algebra remains closed iff every jump operator is at most linear; otherwise the extended algebra with polynomial prefactors is required. We further show that the minimal number of Gaussian components defines a non-Gaussian rank—a discrete complexity measure monotonically non-increasing under the dynamics. The framework yields explicit ODEs for the component parameters, admits a rigorous density theorem and error propagation bound, and provides closed-form algebraic criteria for Gaussianity, purity, and entanglement. Seven numerical experiments validate the method across Gaussian and non-Gaussian states, entanglement decay, PT-symmetric exceptional-point dynamics, and complexity scaling, demonstrating machine-precision accuracy and exponential speedups over grid and Fock methods. The EGQPD framework provides a systematic, exact, and efficient toolbox for non-Gaussian open quantum dynamics.

Scale-Invariant Open Quantum Systems

Carlos Argüelles, Gabriela Barenboim, Gonzalo Herrera +2 more

We develop a complete theoretical framework for open quantum systems coupled to scale-invariant environments. We show that such environments are universally described by unparticle baths characterized by a single scaling dimension $d_{\mathcal{U}}$. This work provides the proof of the uniqueness theorem, the formalism of the resulting non-Markovian dynamics, and applications to several physical systems. From the uniqueness theorem, we derive the non-Markovian memory kernels, the exact noise kernel including vacuum and thermal contributions, and a fractional generalization of the Caldeira-Leggett master equation for arbitrary $d_{\mathcal{U}}$. The scaling dimension governs a rich phase structure, including a thermalization transition at $d_{\mathcal{U}}=3/2$, the Ohmic boundary at $d_{\mathcal{U}}=2$, and a decoherence transition at $d_{\mathcal{U}}=5/2$ in the thermal regime, beyond which long-time quantum coherence is protected. Three realizations are studied. For the quantum Ising model at criticality, coupling to the energy operator in $(1+1)$ dimensions gives $d_{\mathcal{U}}=3/2$, producing $1/f$ noise, while the $(2+1)$D case yields $d_{\mathcal{U}}\approx1.413$ from the conformal bootstrap. In inflationary cosmology, massless scalar and graviton baths in de Sitter spacetime give $d_{\mathcal{U}}=2$, predicting linear decoherence growth consistent with the quantum-to-classical transition. For high-energy astrophysical neutrinos, the decoherence rate $Γ_{\mathrm{decoh}}\propto \mathcal{B}(E,T_{\mathcal{U}})L^{5-2d_{\mathcal{U}}}$ provides an observable signature of the scaling dimension. We also compare the framework with Caldeira-Leggett and Lindblad approaches, analyze the validity regimes, and discuss experimental implications for trapped-ion simulators, neutrino telescopes, and superconducting qubits.

Rigorous Differential Algebraic Closure Framework for Quantum Dynamical Systems: A Constructive Approach with Certified Computations

shifa liu

This paper establishes a comprehensive differential algebraic framework for constructing explicit solutions to quantum dynamical systems, including closed quantum systems, open quantum systems, and quantum field theories. We define thequantum dynamical closure KQDS and quantum field theoretic closure KQFT asdifferentially closed field extensions constructed through recursive adjunction processes that systematically incorporate quantum states, observables, Hamiltonians, evolution operators, measurement processes, and renormalization procedures.Within these closures, we prove that solutions to broad classes of quantum dynamical equations—including the Schr¨odinger equation, Heisenberg equation,Lindblad master equation, and Wheeler-DeWitt equation—admit unified representations that respect the underlying algebraic and geometric structures. The framework rigorously addresses quantum nonlinearity, measurement back-action,decoherence, and renormalization while preserving operator algebraic structures and quantum constraints. We provide detailed constructive proofs with complete mathematical rigor, deriving explicit solution formulas with certified error bounds and establishing convergence criteria in appropriate quantum function spaces. Comprehensive algorithms with precise complexity analysis are presented, including stability guarantees and adaptive precision control with mathematically certified error bounds. A rigorous validation framework employing interval arithmetic and operator-theoretic methods demonstrates the practical effectiveness of our approach. The work demonstrates that explicit analytic solutions exist within appropriately constructed differential algebraic closures, providing new algebraic perspectives on quantum solvability while maintaining consistency with established quantum theory. Extensions to quantum computation, quantum thermodynamics, and quantum gravity establish connections across physical disciplines while maintaining mathematical rigor throughout.

Canonical Tetrahedral Qubit-State Geometry in the TUS OS Triad

Mark Whitlock

Paper 1 of 11 — A General Theory of Answerability The eleven-paper TUS OS mathematical research programme Abstract This paper establishes an exact tetrahedral qubit-state geometry within the deterministic six-bit construction underlying the TUS OS Triad. For every lawful six-bit anchor A, the full-state-space maximin construction selects companions B,C such that the resulting triple has exact pairwise Hamming separation (4,4,4). Every such triple has a unique equidistant completion in the same six-bit state space, given by D = A ⊕ B ⊕ C. Under the normalised sign embedding, the four completed states have unit norm, pairwise inner product −1/3, zero centroid and rank three. They therefore form the vertices of a regular tetrahedron. The paper constructs an exact isometric representation of this geometry as four qubit Bloch vectors forming a tetrahedral symmetric informationally complete structure, while affine centring and common renormalisation of the original three-state face yield exact qubit-trine geometry. The analytical construction is verified exhaustively over the complete finite state space. The census covers all 64 six-bit anchors, 249,984 ordered anchor-conditioned candidate pairs, 41,664 unordered triples, 960 mutual-distance-four triples, and 240 completed four-state sets. The same geometric recovery is demonstrated in two frozen public TUS receipt packages. The result separates the mathematical completion from the protocol object. Only the three states (A,B,C) are emitted as active Triad starts; the fourth state (D) is a uniquely determined mathematical completion and does not become an additional receipt-bearing protocol member. The tetrahedral and trine constructions therefore provide exact qubit-geometric representations of an already-fixed finite classical structure rather than additional states or operations in the native TUS OS protocol. The claim boundary is explicit. The paper does not claim that TUS OS physically prepares qubits, performs SIC or trine measurements, exhibits contextuality or other nonclassical behaviour, or obtains quantum computational advantage. Its result is an exact finite geometric correspondence and protocol linkage between the completed six-bit Triad structure and canonical qubit tetrahedral and centred-face trine geometry.
