Secrecy Performance of Maximum Ratio Diversity With Channel Estimation Error

Kyung Seung Ahn, Sung–Woo Choi, Jae-Min Ahn

In this letter, we analyze the performance of maximum-ratio combining (MRC) system with channel estimation error for physical layer security. The quantified measure for channel estimation error is the correlation coefficient between the true fading channel coefficients and their estimates. Exact closed-form expressions for secrecy performance including the statistical distribution of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), the secrecy outage probability and the secrecy capacity are derived. The analytical results are confirmed by numerical simulations.

Generalized MGF-based secrecy outage performance analysis over fading channels using mixture gamma distribution

Jinu Gong, Joonhyuk Kang

This paper proposes a novel method to provide secrecy outage performance in various fading environments using a mixture gamma (MG) distribution, which is well known to approximate numerous fading channel models. First, we derive the generalized moment generating function (G-MGF) and incomplete G-MGF (IG-MGF) of the MG distribution. Then, by applying those formulas, we obtain the exact and asymptotic expressions of the secrecy outage probability along with the corresponding lower bound and probability of the strictly positive secrecy capacity for various fading scenarios. Finally, the accuracy and effectiveness of all derived formulas are verified through extensive numerical experiments.

An Adaptive Transmission Scheme for Slow Fading Wiretap Channel with Channel Estimation Errors

Zongze Li, Pengcheng Mu, Zongmian Li +3 more

In this paper, we investigate the physical-layer security of slow fading wiretap channel with channel estimation errors. We aim to maximize the reliable secrecy rate under constraints of secrecy outage probability and reliability outage probability. To this end, we propose an adaptive (ADP) transmission scheme in which the communication rate and secrecy rate are adaptively adjusted based on the estimated imperfect channel state information (CSI) of the legitimate channel. The optimal solution is obtained by solving a single-variable maximization problem, where the objective function is log-concave. Numerical results are provided to verify our approach as well as to show the impact of imperfect CSI on the secrecy throughput.
