Does the height of the quantum record plateau build monotonically with spin-flip coupling? A preregistered re-analysis of a flip-amplitude dose-response

Abstract

Preregistered re-analysis of frozen simulation rows. In a central-spin model, information about the central spin is recorded redundantly in its environment, appearing as a plateau in the mutual-information curve between the system and environment fragments; the plateau's height measures the record's strength. On the substrate of configurations whose plateau is intact at the reference dose of an earlier flip-amplitude dose-response study (36 configurations), this study tests whether the substrate-median plateau height builds monotonically with spin-flip coupling strength across six doses. A single deterministic pass; no new simulation.

Is the death of the quantum record plateau under coherence ablation a threshold event? A preregistered re-analysis of branch-ablation rows

Tristen Pierson

Preregistered re-analysis of frozen simulation rows. When the coherence between the two branches of a central-spin record state is progressively ablated, does the record plateau die at a threshold - most configurations losing it at essentially one dose, the survival curve falling in a single step - or does it erode gradually across the dose grid? This study judges that one functional on the frozen rows of an earlier branch-coherence ablation study (132 configurations, five ablation doses): whether plateau deaths are concentrated at a single onset dose. No new simulation.

What carries the quantum Darwinism record texture’s robustness to spin-flip coupling strength? Edge-level interventions on the flip couplings in a central-spin model

Tristen Pierson

Preregistered simulation study. An earlier study in this series found the redundant record plateau in a central-spin model robust to rescaling the spin-flip coupling amplitudes, but that sweep preserved the coupling graph. This study discriminates three candidate carriers of the robustness — the specific coupling pattern, the coupling graph’s connectivity alone, or generic mixing strength — by interventions that delete, reduce, permute, or remove flip couplings at matched total strength.

A collection of preregistered studies on how records form and persist: simulation studies of redundant information records in quantum toy models (central-spin and spin-chain systems) and of counting laws in causal sets, together with secondary-data reanalyses of human experiments on cooperation and on near-threshold visual perception. Each linked project carries its own preregistration; the registration of record for every study is the time-stamped, DOI-bearing registration linked from its project page. All study designs and analysis criteria were frozen before analysis.
