Abstract

Enterprise adoption of quantum computing requires systematic roadmap design bridging the gap between current NISQ hardware capabilities and production enterprise workloads in finance, logistics, pharma, and manufacturing. Unlike prior quantum roadmap work addressing hardware milestones, enterprise integration roadmaps must address organisational readiness, hybrid quantum-classical architecture design, workforce capability development, vendor ecosystem evaluation, and total cost of ownership modelling. This paper proposes the Quantum Enterprise Integration Roadmap (QEIR) framework, a structured methodology for designing 5-10 year quantum adoption plans across four enterprise sectors. QEIR is validated through case studies of 12 enterprise quantum adoption programmes across financial services, pharmaceutical R&D;, supply chain optimisation, and energy grid management. Key results: enterprises achieving Enterprise Quantum Readiness Score (EQRS) > 0.70 realise quantum-enabled process improvements within 24 months; hybrid quantum-classical architectures reduce time-to-value by 58% versus pure quantum approaches; workforce quantum literacy programmes increase adoption success rate by 42%. The framework provides sector-specific roadmap templates and a validated EQRS assessment tool.

White Paper: Quantum Readiness-Strategic Imperatives for Enterprise Organisations

Antony Panteli

Quantum computing is becoming operationally relevant, presenting latent risks and opportunities for enterprise organisations. The timetable for large-scale quantum advantage is uncertain, yet cybersecurity, compliance, systems architecture and innovation are increasingly becoming evident. Data protected under current encryption standards may become vulnerable to quantum-enabled decryption, and regulatory expectations are beginning to reflect long-term cryptographic risks. This white paper defines quantum readiness as a strategic enterprise discipline focused on assessing exposure, preparing internal capabilities, and enabling structured engagement. It defines six capability domains where investment is required: cryptographic transition, workforce development, governance alignment, compliance frameworks, innovation acceleration, and ecosystem partnerships. Each domain is a lever for managing risk and enabling future participation in quantum-related developments. A phased implementation path is proposed based on three stages: Assess, Strategise and Operationalise. This model enables organisations to initiate internal diagnostics and planning, followed by capability building, pilot activity, and integration into governance structures. The approach supports proportional investment while maintaining flexibility in response to emerging technological and regulatory signals. Rather than requiring immediate adoption of quantum technologies, quantum readiness calls for precise planning, institutional awareness, and measured progression. To be better positioned to manage disruption and capture future value as the technology matures, enterprise leaders must act early to define their posture and build foundational capability.

Poshan Kumar Reddy Ponnamreddy

The convergence of quantum computing and enterprise resource planning systems represents a transformative paradigm shift in organizational computing architecture, fundamentally altering how enterprises address computational challenges across pharmaceutical serialization, supply chain optimization, and resource allocation domains. This article examines the architectural foundations of major quantum computing platforms, including IBM Qiskit, AWS Braket, Google Cirq, and Microsoft Q#, evaluating their strategic fit within enterprise contexts through detailed analysis of programming frameworks, hardware characteristics, and integration pathways. The quantum computing landscape has evolved beyond theoretical promise to demonstrate measurable utility in specific application domains, particularly combinatorial optimization problems that exhibit exponential classical complexity. Pharmaceutical serialization systems benefit from quantum cryptographic protocols, including Quantum Key Distribution and Quantum Random Number Generators, establishing information-theoretically secure supply chain traceability immune to computational attacks. The quantum-ERP integration implementation architecture will depend on hybrid architectures that combine the best of many platforms: AWS Braket allows access to hardware of multiple vendors, providing the ability to perform systematic performance benchmarking; IBM Qiskit offers established optimization algorithms with demonstrated enterprise applicability; Microsoft Q+ provides organized programming environments that can meet pharmaceutical validation needs; and Google Cirq allows quantum machine learning integration into existing analytics pipelines. The strategic plan leading to quantum-enhanced enterprise systems requires focused attention to the existing limitations of the Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum devices, error reduction mechanisms, as well as phased implementation methods that would add value step by step toward the future with error-free quantum benefit. Organizations positioning themselves at the quantum computing frontier establish competitive advantages in operational efficiency, cryptographic security, and analytical sophistication essential for success in increasingly complex global markets.
