Abstract

The goal of the artificial neural network is to create powerful artificial problem solving systems. The field of quantum computationapplies ideas from quantum mechanics to the study of computation and has made interesting progress. Quantum Artificial Neural Network(QANN) is one of the new paradigms built upon the combination of classical neural computation and quantum computation. It has great valuesfor theoretic study and potential to applications. In this paper an attempt is made to show how a single quantum neuron is able to perform thewalsh-hadamard transformation which is an important unitary transformation often employed in quantum computation. Keywords: Quantum computation, walsh-hadamard transformation, Quantum neuron, Quantum artificial neural network

The goal of the artificial neural network is to create powerful artificial problem solving systems. The field of quantum computation applies ideas from quantum mechanics to the study of computation and has made interesting progress. Quantum Neural Network (QNN) is one of the new paradigms built upon the combination of classical neural computation and quantum computation. It is argued that the study of QNN may explain the brain functionality in a better way and create new systems for information processing including solving some classically intractable problems. In this paper we have given an introductory representation of quantum artificial neural network to show how it can be modelled on the basis of double-slit experiment. Also an attempt is made to show the quantum mechanical representation of a classical neuron to implement Hadamard transformation.

Sitakanta Nayak, Shaktikanta Nayak

Quantum Artificial Neural Network (QANN) is one of the new paradigm built upon the combination of classical neural computation and quantum computation. It has great values for theoretic study and potential to applications. In this paper an attempt is made to show how a single quantum neuron is able to perform the XOR function which is unrealizable with a single classical neuron and has the same computational power as the two-layer perceptron.

Training an Artificial Neural Network Using Qubits as Artificial Neurons: A Quantum Computing Approach

Avinash Chalumuri, Raghavendra Kune, B. S. B. S. Manoj

Artificial neural networks (ANN) proved to be efficient in solving many problems for big data analytics using machine learning. The complex and non-linear features of the input data can be learned and generalized by ANN. In the big data era, enormous amounts of data arrive from multiple sources. A stage is expected to be reached where even supercomputers are likely inundated with the big data. Training an ANN in such a situation is a challenging task due to the size and dimension of the big data. Also, a large number of parameters are to be used and optimized in the network to learn the patterns and analyze such data. Quantum computing is emerging as a field that provides a solution to this problem as a quantum computer can represent data differently using qubits. Qubits on quantum computers can be used to detect the hidden patterns in data that are difficult for a classical computer to find. Hence, there exists a huge scope for application in the area of artificial neural networks. In this work, we primarily focused on training an artificial neural network using qubits as artificial neurons. The simulation results show that our quantum computing approach for ANN (QC ANN) is efficient when compared to classical ANN. The model with qubits as artificial neurons can learn the features of data using fewer parameters for a binary classification task. We demonstrate our experiment using a quantum simulator and optimization of the quantum parameters used in QC ANN is carried out on a classical computer.

Quantum Neural Networks: Evolution of Artificial Neural Networks in Quantum Domain

Ashwani Kumar, Manu Pratap Singh

Quantum Neural Networks (QNNs) represent a fascinating intersection of Quantum Computing and Artificial Neural Networks.Researchers explored combining quantum computing and neural networks in the 1990s and early 2000s.Quantum Neural Networks (QNNs) combine principles from quantum computing and artificial neural networks to potentially revolutionize machine learning.QNNs are neural networks that utilize quantum computing principles, such as superposition, entanglement, and quantum parallelism, to process and transform information. With Quantum Superposition QNNs can represent complex probability distributions, allowing for more nuanced modeling of uncertainty. While with Quantum Entanglement, QNNs can capture complex correlations between inputs, enabling more accurate modeling of complex relationships.Apart of that Quantum Parallelism facilitates QNN to process multiple inputs simultaneously, potentially speeding up certain computations.QNNs can potentially solve certain problems faster than classical neural networks.QNNs can also capture complex relationships and patterns, potentially leading to improved accuracy and can provide new insights into complex systems and phenomena.QNNs hold promise for advancing machine learning and solving complex problems.Ongoing research aims to overcome challenges and unlock their full potential.Quantum-Classical hybrid approaches were introduced, combining the strengths of both paradigms. This research paper presents an exploratory and critical survey of the current status of Quantum Neural Networks, Quantum Computing, along with the potential applications of QNNs in Artificial Intelligence.

Quantum artificial neural network (QANN) is one of the new paradigms built upon the combination of classical neural and quantum computations. It has great values for theoretic study and potentials to applications. In this paper, an intrinsic similarity of quantum theory and artificial neural network (ANN) theory has been highlighted and analyzed. The dynamic features of QANN are also discussed in details. As an application using dynamic features, a novel model of quantum neuron (QN) is described hereby with a focus on an operation function. Numerical results are illustrated to show that this the proposed QN model can perform a XOR function unrealizable with a classical neuron (CN). The model allows obtain a nonlinear mapping performed by two layers of classical ANN (CANN)

Quantum Neural Networks in Machine Learning: Problems and Prospects

K. Yu. Safronov

Despite rapid theoretical and practical progress, machine learning algorithms require large computational resources. However, new opportunities are opening up due to the advent of quantum computing devices that directly use the laws of quantum mechanics to bypass the technological and thermodynamic limitations of classical computing. Taking into account that artificial neural networks are actively used in solving a number of practical problems, with the advent of quantum computing technologies, the development of quantum neural networks for the implementation of quantum machine learning is very relevant. The article considers a quantum analogue of classical neurons that form quantum neural networks capable of performing universal quantum computations.
