Abstract

The project "Quantum-Based Private Chatspace for Secure Organization" focuses on developing a secure communication platform tailored for organizational use. Leveraging quantum communication technologies, it aims to establish a chat environment capable of protecting sensitive information. The system will utilize quantum key distribution (QKD) to create and exchange cryptographic keys that are inherently resistant to eavesdropping, laying a solid foundation for secure communication. Key features will include end-to-end encryption, message integrity checks, and user authentication to meet enterprise-level security demands. The implementation of quantum security protocols will greatly strengthen data privacy and confidentiality, offering a cutting-edge defense against modern cyber threats. Furthermore, the project will involve a detailed assessment of potential security risks and rigorous testing to validate the system’s reliability and real-world applicability, thereby promoting advanced communication solutions in organizational settings.

Secure Chat Application Using BB84 Protocol

Ch. Jagadeesh, A. Eekshita, K. Jeswanth Sai +2 more

As quantum computing continues to advance, many of the encryption methods used in today’s chat applications may no longer be secure. Techniques like RSA and Elliptic Curve Cryptography, which are currently reliable, could be broken by quantum algorithms such as Shor’s algorithm, creating risks for private communication. To address this issue, the project presents a Post-Quantum Secure Chat Application designed to remain secure even in the future. It uses Quantum Key Distribution(QKD), specifically the BB84 protocol, to generate and share encryption keys safely. Since measuring a quantum state changes it, any attempt to intercept the key can be detected. In this system, the key exchange process is simulated using quantum tools. If interference occurs, errors appear, alerting the system. Once a secure key is established, messages are encrypted using quantum-resistant methods to ensure privacy. The application includes a simple web interface for real-time messaging, a backend for handling users and messages, and a quantum module for secure key generation. The results show that the system enables secure communication and can detect eavesdropping attempts. Overall, this project demonstrated how quantum-based techniques can improve cybersecurity and provide a future-ready communication solution.

Quantum Secure Chat System using Quantum Key Distribution and AES Encryption

Shivnarayan Sreeanand, Srivathsan B

In the era of quantum computing, conventional encryption methods are becoming more vulnerable to quantum attacks and more secure communication protocols are needed. This paper describes a Quantum Secure Chat System that facilitates real-time communication between two parties through Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) using the BB84 protocol and AES-GCM encryption to protect confidentiality and integrity. The system employs QKD for key distribution and mitigates eavesdropping attempts, whereby attempted interceptions alert parties that the key cannot be trusted. In conjunction, the system employs Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) to mitigate the risk of non-random and biased keys. From the front end perspective, the chat system has an intuitive interface built of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for two users to communicate in encrypted format. From the back-end, it has implemented a Django REST framework for QKD, AES encryption, and message decryption. Information about eavesdropper detection, quantum keys, cipher text, and decrypted messages is displayed to the user and aids transparency in the key exchanging and data encryption/decryption process. The system was robustly developed and tested with release candidates to establish eavesdropping detection, as well as the ability to manage encryption and decryption in an efficient manner. Furthermore, it provides evidence of a strong security capability between the combinations of QKD and AES as a solution to enable real-time messaging.

QUANTUM SECURE EMAIL CLIENT APPLICATION

P. Aravind Yallapragada Naga Sai Padma Sri

The rapid growth of digital communication has increased the need for highly secure email systems capable of protecting sensitive information from evolving cyber threats. Traditional encryption techniques such as RSA and ECC are becoming vulnerable due to advancements in quantum computing, which can potentially break conventional cryptographic algorithms. To address these challenges, this project proposes a Quantum Secure Email Client Application that integrates post-quantum cryptography (PQC) techniques to ensure end-to-end secure communication. The proposed system employs quantum-resistant encryption algorithms such as lattice-based cryptography, hash-based signatures, or code-based encryption to secure email content, attachments, and user authentication processes. The email client ensures that messages are encrypted before transmission and can only be decrypted by the intended recipient, thereby preventing unauthorized access, interception, and data leakage. Additionally, the system incorporates secure key exchange mechanisms resistant to quantum attacks, ensuring safe communication even in the presence of quantum adversaries. The user interface is designed to be simple and user-friendly, allowing seamless sending and receiving of secure emails without requiring deep technical knowledge. The application enhances confidentiality, integrity, and authentication in email communication, making it suitable for defense, banking, healthcare, and government sectors where data security is critical. By integrating quantum-safe cryptographic techniques, the system provides a future-ready solution that safeguards communication against both classical and quantum computing threats.
