Quantum-Based Optimization for Topological Material Design
Jincheng Zhang
Abstract
Quantum-based optimization is gaining significant traction across various fields, and the design of topological materials presents a particularly challenging yet rewarding area. This paper investigates the application of quantum optimization algorithms to accelerate the discovery of novel topological materials with tailored properties. We introduce a novel quantum optimization framework that explores the vast chemical space of topological materials, guided by a quantum-enhanced search strategy. The core mechanism involves leveraging quantum entanglement and superposition to represent and manipulate material configurations, ultimately optimizing for specific topological properties such as robust surface states and topological invariants. This approach promises to overcome the limitations of classical optimization methods in characterizing and designing these complex materials. The potential impact of this research extends to fundamental physics, materials science, and the development of novel technological applications.
