Abstract

Quantum-inspired stochastic differential equation (SDE) modeling seeks to extend the traditional framework of SDEs to incorporate quantum-mechanical effects, offering enhanced predictive capabilities for complex systems exhibiting inherent randomness. This paper explores a novel stochastic process that utilizes quantum-like phenomena, such as superposition and entanglement, to model randomness within SDEs. The core mechanism focuses on creating a dynamic representation of uncertainty, ultimately improving prediction accuracy. We present a conceptual framework and preliminary results demonstrating the potential of this approach to tackle challenging problems in diverse fields, including financial modeling and optimization.

Quantum-Inspired Stochastic Differential Equations (QSDEs)

Jincheng Zhang

This paper introduces Quantum-Inspired Stochastic Differential Equations (QSDEs), a novel approach to modeling stochastic systems by leveraging core concepts from quantum mechanics. Traditional Stochastic Differential Equations (SDEs) often rely on Gaussian noise, which can be a significant limitation when accurately representing complex, real-world phenomena. QSDEs propose a fundamental shift by incorporating superposition and entanglement principles to model noise, moving beyond Gaussian distributions. The core mechanism involves introducing a "quantum noise" term, denoted as *η(t, x, P)*, where *η* is a superposition of probability distributions dynamically adjusted based on the system's state *x*. This allows for a more nuanced representation of uncertainty, potentially leading to vastly improved simulations across diverse fields. We outline the theoretical framework, explore the key mathematical formulations, and discuss the potential impact of QSDEs on areas such as financial modeling, physics simulations, and control systems. The central claim of this work is that classical SDEs can be significantly enhanced by incorporating quantum mechanical principles.

Quantum-Inspired Stochastic Differential Equations for Reinforcement Learning

Jincheng Zhang

This paper introduces a novel approach to reinforcement learning (RL) utilizing stochastic differential equations (SDEs) inspired by quantum mechanics. Traditional SDEs employed in RL frequently suffer from computational complexity and reliance on approximation techniques. This work proposes a framework that directly incorporates principles of quantum measurement and superposition to generate SDEs characterized by intrinsic stochasticity. The underlying mechanism leverages the inherent uncertainty present in quantum measurements to drive policy optimization, potentially leading to more efficient and accurate learning. We formulate the SDEs using a representation that mimics quantum state evolution, introducing a novel operator that allows for controlled stochastic noise generation. The theoretical framework is presented, outlining the key equations and their implications for policy learning. The approach demonstrates the potential to bypass classical approximations inherent in existing SDE-based RL methods, offering a promising direction for enhanced performance and scalability. The core of the work lies in the reformulation of the stochastic differential equation, shifting from a purely deterministic approach to one that reflects the probabilistic nature of quantum systems. This results in an SDE that is fundamentally more amenable to efficient sampling and optimization.
