Abstract

This paper explores the potential of quantum computing to address algorithmic bias in machine learning models. Current machine learning systems often exhibit systematic biases due to the data they are trained on, leading to unfair or discriminatory outcomes. We propose a novel algorithmic approach utilizing quantum entanglement to actively mitigate this bias by manipulating quantum states to counter correlated noise. The core mechanism involves the design of a quantum stabilizer that monitors and corrects correlated noise within the model, offering a fundamentally different approach than traditional bias mitigation techniques. We outline the theoretical framework, the proposed quantum algorithm, and preliminary experimental results demonstrating the effectiveness of this approach.

Algorithmic Bias Mitigation via Quantum Amplitude Amplification

Jincheng Zhang

Abstract: This paper explores the potential of quantum amplitude amplification (QAA) to address algorithmic bias in machine learning datasets. The inherent biases present within large datasets necessitate innovative mitigation strategies, and quantum computing offers a novel pathway to address this challenge. We propose a framework for leveraging quantum algorithms to directly correct subtle biases, potentially surpassing existing post-processing techniques. The core mechanism centers around utilizing quantum superposition to amplify subtle variations in data, effectively 'correcting' the underlying data distribution. The research will outline a theoretical foundation for QAA's application to bias detection and correction within machine learning models, examining its potential impact on fairness and accuracy.

Quantum Machine Learning: Noise Optimization Strategies

Jincheng Zhang

Quantum machine learning (QML) holds significant promise for accelerating and enhancing machine learning tasks. However, the inherent fragility of quantum systems to noise poses a substantial challenge to the successful implementation of QML algorithms. This paper investigates and proposes novel noise optimization strategies specifically tailored for QML. The core claim is to design a strategy capable of effectively handling noise within QML algorithms, ultimately boosting model training accuracy and robustness. The proposed mechanism leverages either the quantum decoherence principle to suppress noise or quantum entanglement mechanisms to mitigate its effects. We explore various approaches, focusing on adaptive noise mitigation techniques and incorporating error correction methodologies within the quantum computation framework. The presented framework aims to improve the reliability of QML algorithms and contribute to the development of practical, robust quantum machine learning systems. The research addresses a critical gap in the field by offering a systematic approach to noise management in QML, a crucial step towards realizing the full potential of this technology. The ultimate goal is to demonstrate that, with appropriate noise optimization, QML algorithms can achieve performance comparable to, or exceeding, classical machine learning algorithms.

Quantum-Based Feature Selection and Dimensionality Reduction

Jincheng Zhang

This paper explores the application of quantum computing to the critical tasks of feature selection and dimensionality reduction within machine learning. Traditional methods often struggle with high-dimensional data, leading to computational bottlenecks and potentially reduced model accuracy. We propose a novel approach leveraging the principles of quantum error correction and quantum entanglement to construct an algorithm capable of efficiently identifying and reducing the most relevant features. The core mechanism utilizes quantum machine learning techniques, specifically quantum feature mapping and feature extraction, to transform data into a quantum state that inherently captures feature relationships. This allows for a more effective selection process based on quantum interference and the exploration of complex correlations. We demonstrate, theoretically, the potential advantages of this approach over classical methods, highlighting improvements in both efficiency and predictive accuracy. The algorithm's design incorporates error correction to mitigate the effects of noise inherent in quantum systems, further enhancing its robustness.
