Abstract

Quantum-Accelerated Bayesian Inference for Material Design addresses the significant computational bottleneck in material discovery through the implementation of a novel quantum algorithm. Classical Bayesian methods, while powerful, are computationally intensive, particularly when dealing with vast material spaces. This paper proposes a quantum-enhanced Bayesian inference framework leveraging quantum annealing, aiming to drastically reduce the time required for material exploration and design. The core mechanism involves utilizing quantum annealing to efficiently navigate the complex landscape of material properties, thereby accelerating the discovery process. The benefits of this approach include reduced computational time, improved exploration of material spaces, and potential for faster iteration cycles in the design process. We present a preliminary analysis and simulation demonstrating the potential for substantial speedups compared to existing classical methods.
