Abstract

Quantum Machine Learning (QML) offers a paradigm shift in computational capabilities, potentially unlocking solutions to complex problems previously intractable with classical algorithms. Geometric optimization, a core challenge in various fields, presents a particularly demanding scenario. This paper investigates the application of quantum algorithms, specifically leveraging quantum entanglement and superposition, to address geometric optimization problems. We propose a novel QML framework centered on the manipulation of geometric representations using quantum states, aiming to significantly enhance the efficiency and accuracy of solutions compared to classical methods. The core mechanism involves encoding geometric constraints and objective functions into quantum states, facilitating distributed and entangled operations for efficient exploration of the solution space. This research explores the potential of this approach to tackle problems ranging from shape optimization and surface reconstruction to logistics and resource allocation. We present a preliminary implementation of a QML-based optimization algorithm with a focus on demonstrating its potential for solving certain geometric optimization scenarios. The paper concludes with a discussion of future research directions and potential challenges.
