Quantum Logic Gate Design and Optimization: Based on Topological Quantum Effects
Jincheng Zhang
Abstract
This paper explores the design and optimization of quantum logic gates leveraging the principles of topological quantum effects. The core claim is that exploiting these effects allows for the creation of quantum logic gates with significantly enhanced fidelity compared to traditional approaches. The central mechanism involves constructing quantum devices based on topological quantum effects, utilizing their inherent properties to perform logical operations. The novelty lies in the paradigm shift offered by topological effects as a new route for quantum logic gate design. We will detail the theoretical framework, focusing on the manipulation of Majorana zero modes (MZMs) – a key element of topological quantum computing – to realize fundamental quantum gates such as the CNOT and Toffoli gates. Mathematical formulations will be presented to describe the gate operations and the resulting fidelity, demonstrating the potential advantages. Furthermore, we will discuss challenges and future directions for the practical implementation of these gates.
