Quantum Memory Based on Entanglement
Jincheng Zhang
Abstract
This paper explores the feasibility and potential of constructing a distributed memory system leveraging quantum entanglement. The core claim is that quantum entanglement offers a pathway to realizing remote, high-capacity, and low-latency distributed memory, addressing limitations inherent in conventional distributed memory architectures. The proposed mechanism involves establishing a network of quantum processors, each storing a single quantum bit. Entanglement operations facilitate instantaneous access and manipulation of these quantum bits across vast distances, effectively creating a shared, distributed memory space. This approach contrasts sharply with traditional distributed memory, which relies on classical communication, offering the potential for significantly enhanced bandwidth and reduced latency due to the direct nature of quantum data access. This research outlines the fundamental concepts and challenges associated with this novel paradigm.
