Entanglement, Measurement, and Information in a Topological Vacuum

Abstract

This is the sixth paper in a series developing a topological-medium frameworkfor physics. It is built on the two axioms and one initial condition of theearlier papers and adds none. The paper argues that the simultaneity of entanglement is not an additionalpostulate but a consequence of incompressibility. The compressed degree offreedom is barred from the radiative sector, leaving a single light cone andso permitting Lorentz covariance; the same degree of freedom is transferred toa constraint sector governed by an elliptic equation, which suppliesinstantaneity. One axiom, two consequences — and the worry that a rigid mediummust spoil covariance turns out to run the other way, since rigidity removesthe second light cone that would otherwise appear. The instantaneous channelcarries neither energy nor signal, for two independent reasons that arecomputed rather than stipulated. A closure event triggers both the collapse of the shared mode and the landingof a detection. From it, the discreteness of detection follows fromwinding-number integrality with no new assumption, and the Born rule follows atargument level from whole-quantum delivery together with ledger consistency, with the exponent an output of the energy density rather than an input. Thecircularity self-check is written out explicitly, since circularity is thestandard failure of derivations of this kind. The correlation tables — the full-amplitude cosine, the Mermin signs, thegeneral-angle GHZ correlations for N = 3, 4, 5, and the W-state tables in boththe occupation and the transverse basis — are reproduced by onesequential-collapse rule which was not altered between them. All of thesetargets were known in advance and are marked as correspondence-levelthroughout. An appendix carries one derivation end to end, including theattempt that failed first and why. Finally, the criterion that separates what can be equipartitioned from whatcannot is used to sort information into three layers by difficulty ofthermalisation, placing decoherence and topological protection as two cases ofone mechanism rather than two mechanisms. Relation to existing work is stated explicitly, including where this work isnot first: decoherence as the loss of correlational information is the standardpicture, and a derivation of the Born rule by a quite different route alreadyexists and has been tested. What is owed is listed at the end with itsstrength, and the two largest items are identified as one wall seen from twosides. All new derivations and numerical evaluations were AI-proposed andauthor-adjudicated, consistent with the disclosure practice of the earlierpapers in this series.

Where Is the Information? Entanglement as Relation Before Distance in a Projected Space

Frederic Requiere

Entanglement is usually met as a paradox: either something crosses space faster than light, or the outcomes were fixed in advance, and Bell's theorem forbids the second while relativity forbids the first. Within the informational framework, in which observable space is a projection of a correlation graph, the paradox rests on a hidden confusion between two distinct quantities. One is a coherence between the phase modes of the two particles, a factorizability F that runs from 1 for a classical pair to 0 for a maximally correlated one. The other is an informational distance, an arithmetic measure of how two elements differ, as real as the gap between two primes and needing no space. They are not the same number, and what binds a measured pair is the first, never the second. From the framework's phase structure, together with the standard two-level representation and the Born rule, the singlet correlation E(a,b) = -(1-F) cos(a-b) and the Bell parameter |S| = 2 sqrt2 (1-F) follow with no free parameter and no measured constant, so the violation |S| > 2 is a geometric consequence of small F. The full -cos, rather than the half of a product of marginal probabilities, is obtained from the joint amplitude, the direct signature of the projection being linear on amplitudes (Axiom 9). A local Haar-twirl lemma fixes the fully decohered fraction as the maximally mixed state, and a product of two locally isotropic (depolarizing) channels contracts the singlet's Pauli correlation tensor to a single factor, forcing the partially decohered singlet to be a Werner state with weight p = lambda_A lambda_B; the coincidence visibility then fixes p = 1-F, so the mixing weight is exactly the arithmetic factorizability; that is the bridge, derived rather than posited. Under decoherence F climbs toward 1 along an extension of the collective scaling law, F(N) = 1 - (1-F0)/sqrt(N) with N = 1 + n, and two distinct thresholds follow: the CHSH violation dies at a decorrelation count of order unity, while the entanglement itself survives to a count 9/2 times larger (a ratio of counts, not of times or distances). Throughout, the informational distance |Z_a-Z_b| does not move at all. Non-locality is therefore a property of coherence, not of a distance that shrinks to zero: the correlation never needed space to begin with. The informational space is not an interpretation added at the end; it is what the four opening questions require, and entanglement is the plainest evidence that it is there. All results are derived with zero free parameters and no measured constant; a self-contained standard-library verification script asserts every boxed result.

Surprisal-Timed Collapse as filed is underdetermined: a proposition-level audit and the conditions for decidability

Alexander Sherrod

Surprisal-Timed Collapse (STC) was proposed as a deterministic modification of the Diósi–Penrose (DP) gravitational reduction model: a superposition reduces when the accumulated relative gravitational phase reaches unity, with no stochastic field, and the Born rule is said to follow from stationary phase of an informational path integral. We audit the filed proposal claim by claim, with each claim typed as physical, derivational, self-descriptive or mathematical, and each verdict drawn from a closed vocabulary fixed before the audit began. Six consistency obligations are tested: a defined reduction energy, operational no-signalling, an outcome rule, a time and frame standard, consistency with data, and consistency with radiation bounds. As filed, STC discharges none of the first four and not the sixth; the fifth is discharged only for a binding model of the free inputs. The reduction energy depends on a smearing length, a profile and a normalisation the text does not fix (published normalisations span a factor 8π); the two rate formulas the proposal quotes are mutually inconsistent by a factor of two; one natural reading of its locality referent permits signalling, conditional on a locally observable record of the reduction; it supplies no outcome selector, and the only recovered written version of its Born-rule argument is circular; and its exemption from spontaneous-radiation bounds is an assumption rather than a calculation. Under the audited assumptions, no qualifying experiment excludes the whole admissible domain, so the proposal is not falsified by data; the one exclusion found inside that domain is conditional on a rigid-nucleus density prescription, the normalisation and the coherent interval, and disappears if the zero-point spread of the nuclei enters the density. This is not a finding that the proposal agrees with experiment. For its proposed interferometric test, the forecasts made with the filed per-trace estimator are not reproduced, and that test is not viable as filed; other analyses of the same apparatus were not adjudicated. Three central ideas of the proposal have prior art. The filed theory is therefore underdetermined. We identify requirements that a decidable version of this framework would need to satisfy. We do not claim a falsification of the Born rule, a no-go theorem for deterministic collapse, or any experimental support for STC. The author of this audit is also the author of the original STC proposal. This is a self-audit conducted with adversarial AI assistance, not an independent external peer review. COSMIC PORTAILS

Horacio Villalobos Quezada

When two entangled particles are measured light-years apart and their results correlate without fail, the question almost everyone asks —and the one almost no one answers well —is “how did the information travel between them?” This work argues that the question is badly posed from its very verb: there is no travel. What occurs is coordinated manifestation of the same Hilbert space in two causally disconnected regions —the correlations do not move, they clothe themselves in geometry where the Hilbert space that contains them permits, in both places at once, because they never ceased to be a single thing. That reinterpretation is not merely a prettier way of saying the same thing: it brings with it a precise ontological piece, with a double foundation. First, between spacelike-separated regions there is no relativistic causality to violate, because there is nothing propagating. Second, no-signaling is preserved even when the Type 3 correlations are treated as geometric information in the strict sense. From this, six concrete restrictions are derived —independent conservations, membership in the same Hilbert space, Planck separation in a spacelike relation, sufficient purity, environmental conditions, preservation of Type 1 and Type 2 properties —that the program’s apparatus imposes without the need to add a single new assumption. The result is a complete harmony with quantum entanglement as it is observed experimentally, with the locality-loophole-closed Bell experiments as the paradigmatic case. But the harmony goes beyond entanglement at distance it confirms that any change or conservation is merely a product ofthe posibilities within a Hilbert space. And the work is careful, deliberately, not to over-promise: it announces no operative teleportation nor instantaneous communication —it traces the framework that any future technological operationalization will have to respect, and it declares honestly what it does not yet know. It is the fourth article of the program, and the first that looks, with its feet firmly on the ground, toward an application that will take decades. Six specific restrictions are derived (on the independent conservations of c and quantum change, membership in the same Hilbert space, Planck separation in a spacelike relation, purity of the Hilbert space, environmental conditions, and preservation of Type 1 and Type 2 properties) that the unified apparatus of the CNMC/FCF program imposes. The work establishes complete conceptual harmony with the experimentally observed quantum entanglement, articulating the locality-loophole-closed Bell experiments as the paradigmatic instance of the operatively distinctive phenomenon. Pending explorations are declared on the specific restrictions by type of correlation (G) and by macroscopicity of the system (H). The work inaugurates the decades-long project toward the future technological operationalization of the phenomenon, establishing the formal foundational framework that this operationalization must respect.

Structure from Stability: A Reconstruction of Quantum Form and Its Limits

Valu Eria

For stationary, stable linear systems, quantum form (symplectic form, complex structure, Hilbert inner product) is not a set of external postulates but geometric architecture already carried by the classical action and its flow; read through a local projection, for which decoherence is the explicit candidate, only one postulate remains: that states are sections. The Born measure is not derived here. This is a foundations paper. It adds no new dynamics, and most of its mathematics is known; its contribution is to arrange known results inside one ontology and to check what that ontology can and cannot carry. The ontology has a static space of consistent configurations, a single actualized history, a many-to-one projection Π and a selection operator A, and was proposed to account for quantum structure, the arrow of time and the Born rule. Taking each claim to the smallest system on which it can be computed, we find that the natural explicit candidate for Π, a projection onto locally accessible degrees of freedom, is standard decoherence theory; we do not show that Π must take this form. For linear systems with stable dynamics the quantum structure the ontology presupposes is reconstructed from the classical action: the symplectic form from the boundary term, the complex structure from the flow, and the Hilbert inner product from their combination. Stability of the linearized dynamics, rather than positivity of the action's Hessian, is the condition for quantum form to exist. Given the section postulate, the topological invariants of the ontology become the integrality conditions of geometric quantization; under the preservation assumption of Proposition 1, a dynamics that couples subsystems admits a single value of ħ; and if topology fixes dimensionless constants at all, it can do so only at a boundary, the measured values being images under renormalization-group flow (an illustrated pattern, not a derivation). The hidden sector splits into a gauge part and a temporally accessible part, which exposes a dilemma for structural accounts of irreversibility. A global selection cannot signal under three stated conditions, the central one being that its criterion reads only unconditioned reduced states in the causal past; we conjecture that selection is triggered by redundant environmental records. A hypothesis that the history begins at a regular horizon is tested against the Einstein equations in homogeneous models. Each result is labelled as known, synthesis or conjecture. The code-backed checks are listed in Tables 2–4 and reproduced by the attached scripts (run_all.py, with assertions on the quoted values; tested on Python 3.11/Linux and Python 3.14/Windows). Of the original framework's three predictions, one coincides with standard quantum mechanics in its safe form, one is withdrawn, and one lacks a mechanism and is bounded by binary-pulsar timing. How to check this paper: every result carries a status tag (known / synthesis / conjecture / withdrawn / scoped numerical evidence) collected in the ledger (Table 1). Code-backed claims are listed with their IDs in Tables 2–4. Unzip scripts_v15.zip and run python run_all.py (a few minutes; --rederive also redoes the symbolic Bianchi IX derivation); it asserts the numbers quoted in the text and exits non-zero on any mismatch. Corrections are welcome.

Paper 12: The Twin Minimal Space Model — External Face of the Stable Species, the Exact Form of Measurement, Layer Resolution of Entanglement, and Vertex Deficits with Two Hidden Axes: Interface Emergence of Quantum-Like Behavior

Noriaki Kihara

As the final paper of the series, this paper constructs the minimal system in which two composites coexist — the twin minimal space model — and examines how much of the behavior that looks quantum mechanical is derived as a reading of hierarchy interfaces in a discrete relational model that assumes neither amplitudes nor continuous time. External face of the stable species: The handles (hairs) by which a composite is observed from outside divide into three ledgers: the face fundamental wave ν0 = 1/(2√s) (the dominant line of the self-container spectrum), the parent-record line νobs = |k|, and the energy-like norm R' = √s. The exact identity ν0R' = 1/2 (the zero point) links the first two, and R' never appears as a line — it is readable from outside as the spacing 1/R' of the odd comb (the particle-level realization of the record theorem). The external face is a minimal-uncertainty quasi-rectangular wave packet that carries a built-in odd comb of spacing 1/R' and is localized within an extent 2R' (half-width × fundamental wave = 1/2). Construction of the twin system: The initial value Ω0² = 2ν1² = 18 is an even label and, by the classification theorem (Paper 5), cannot exist as a single state — being born as a pair is forced by parity (the first event requires no dynamics). The allowed lattice separations of the twins (each s = 9) are quantized to |Δ|² ∈ {2, …, 20}, and |Δ|² ≡ 1 (mod 4) is entirely forbidden. The relational classes (21 under B4 × swap) are completely separated once the branch (cos/sin) channels are read in addition to the fringe intensity data (intensity-only fringe data degenerates to 18 kinds as ordered data, and to 11 kinds under the operationally available unordered reading) — the scale marks of space are born as chord sets of equal-frequency shells. The exact form of measurement: Inspecting the two conditions for measurement (affecting the system; detecting the change), the detection of change requires knowledge of the prior state and regresses infinitely; in this model, however, the record of the prior state is absent by censorship, and the λ ledger is append-only (the monotonic increase theorem, Paper 6), so the regress is structurally cut. Measurement = an append to the record (absence → presence); "collapse" is the appearance of a record, and its irreversibility reduces to the same single bit as the arrow of time. Computing the first decay of the twins explicitly, the appearance of the reference wave (s = 1) promotes the information class of the record from interferometric to holographic — the measuring apparatus is generated by the event itself. We also show that the final-state statistics depend on the choice of measure (one-shot equal weight over configurations 60/61 versus sequential conditional counting 396/403) — measure bifurcation, with an exact difference of +0.00098. Layer resolution of entanglement: The self-spectrum of a single fragment lies on all-components-even vectors and is therefore identically invisible in the logical-wave (odd) sector — only counts and relations can be read (the relational-only readout theorem). The decay of one twin instantaneously rewrites the branching statistics of the other (total variation 0.774), but this shift does not depend on the twin separation at all, and the influence does not propagate through the space of the child layer — instantaneity is not a speed but a mismatch of levels. Since order and attribution do not exist in the final record, operational no-signalling follows. An entangled pair, being an even label, cannot become a single particle at the layer above (parity protection). The same map applies to two-path interference of a single wave packet. Vertex deficits and the two hidden axes: An exhaustive inspection of the record continuity rule across an event (that the parent's identity line persists in the cross spectrum of the daughter system) derives, as the persistence condition, a conservation law of position vectors v5 ± v3 = ±v9 (a momentum analogue), which holds for parents in the (2,1,0,0) orbit but fails for parents in the (1,1,1,1) orbit by exactly one unit (one axis / one quantum). Furthermore, in the bookkeeping of the excitation degree ε = (−1)Σ|k| there exists a second one-bit deficit independent of this one (specific orbits at s = 7, 9). The visible four-axis ledgers demand two invisible directions — R on the curvature side and Q on the bare-parity side — and intermediate displacements along the invisible directions, being unrecorded, are permitted (the licensing principle for virtual displacements). This licence virtually unlocks two-body splittings that are forbidden in the visible ledgers, and decomposes every decay into sequences of cubic vertices (multiple paths to the same final state). Finally, we organize the correspondence between the obtained structure and standard theory as a transport principle (a theorem is transported whenever the counterparts of its premises are verified), and state explicitly the candidate answers this model gives to questions that remain postulates on the standard-theory side (the measurement problem, the location of the cut, the problem of time, dimensionality, the measure), together with falsifiability (gravitationally mediated entanglement experiments, etc.). Bilingual edition (Japanese and English): Markdown, LaTeX, and PDF for each language, plus four figures (PNG). v0.3 (2026-06-12): Corrects Sec. 3.2 and the abstract: the twin pairs decompose into 21 relational classes under B4 × swap (not 18); intensity-only fringe data degenerates to 18 kinds (ordered) / 11 kinds (unordered, operational), and complete separation is recovered by the branch-channel readout. All other results are unchanged.

Entanglement

Stephen Mark Barnett

We have seen, in Section 2.5, how the superposition principle leads to the existence of entangled states of two or more quantum systems. Such states are characterized by the existence of correlations between the systems, the form of which cannot be satisfactorily accounted for by any classical theory. These have played a central role in the development of quantum theory since early in its development, starting with the famous paradox or dilemma of Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen (EPR). No less disturbing than the EPR dilemma is the problem of Schrödinger’s cat, an example of the apparent absurdity of following entanglement into the macroscopic world. It was Schrödinger who gave us the name entanglement; he emphasized its fundamental significance when he wrote, ‘I would call this not one but the characteristic trait of quantum mechanics, the one that enforces the entire departure from classical thought’. The EPR dilemma represents a profound challenge to classical reasoning in that it seems to present a conflict between the ideas of the reality of physical properties and the locality imposed by the finite velocity of light. This challenge and the developments that followed have served to refine the concept of entanglement and will be described in the first section of this chapter. We start by recalling that a state of two quantum systems is entangled if its density operator cannot be written as a product of density operators for the two systems, or as a probability-weighted sum of such products. For pure states, the condition for entanglement can be stated more simply: a pure state of two quantum systems is not entangled only if the state vector can be written as a product of state vectors for the two systems. In the discipline of quantum information, entanglement is viewed as a resource to be exploited. We shall find, both here and in the subsequent chapters, that our subject owes much of its distinctive flavour to the utilization of entanglement.
