Quantum Matter Temporal Order (QMTO)

Abstract
This paper introduces the concept of Quantum Matter Temporal Order (QMTO), proposing a fundamental shift in our understanding of materials science. Traditionally, materials have been primarily characterized by their spatial arrangements – crystalline structures, amorphous solids, etc. However, we posit that a crucial, yet largely unexplored, dimension of material properties arises from the *temporal* ordering of quantum states within a material. This temporal ordering is particularly relevant in systems driven by periodic perturbations, such as pulsed lasers or time-varying magnetic fields. We argue that these periodic driving forces induce and maintain specific temporal correlations among the quantum states of electrons and other excitations, leading to emergent and potentially novel physical phenomena. The underlying principle is expressed mathematically as: [O_t] where *O_t* represents the temporal order parameter, a quantity that quantifies the degree of temporal correlation within the system at a given time *t*. The exploration of this temporal ordering represents a significant advancement in materials research, potentially unlocking new materials with unprecedented properties and offering a pathway toward recognizing materials governed by time-dependent quantum dynamics. This framework offers a novel lens through which to understand and potentially control the behavior of complex materials, and represents a concept with significant potential for future research and technological applications. ---
