Abstract

Quantum mechanics is one of the most significant scientific theories in modern physics, concerned with the behavior of matter and energy at the atomic and subatomic scales. By introducing concepts such as the quantization of energy, wave–particle duality, the uncertainty principle, quantum superposition, and quantum entanglement, this theory has fundamentally transformed humanity's understanding of the underlying structure of the universe. The importance of studying quantum mechanics lies not only in its ability to explain the fundamental phenomena of nature but also in its extensive contribution to the development of advanced technologies, including quantum computing, medical imaging, laser technology, secure communications, and nanotechnology. The objective of this article is to examine the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics and analyze their applications across various scientific and technological fields. This study employs a library-based research method with a descriptive–analytical approach. The required data were collected and analyzed through an extensive review of books, peer-reviewed scientific articles, and other authoritative sources in the field of quantum physics. The findings indicate that quantum mechanics, in addition to playing a fundamental role in understanding the subatomic world, constitutes one of the principal foundations for the advancement of modern technologies. Furthermore, the results suggest that the continued development of quantum technologies has the potential to exert profound impacts on scientific, industrial, and medical fields in the future. Consequently, quantum mechanics is not merely a fundamental physical theory but also a key driver of innovation and transformation in contemporary science and technology.

EXPLORATION OF QUANTUM MECHANICS IN EVERYDAY PHENOMENA

Dr.Shivaraj Gadigeppa Gurikar

Quantum mechanics, the branch of physics that deals with the behavior of matter and energy at atomic and subatomic scales, may seem like a highly theoretical subject confined to laboratories, but its principles are deeply embedded in our everyday lives. This study explores the profound influence of quantum mechanics on various phenomena and technologies that shape modern society. Concepts such as wave-particle duality, superposition, and quantum entanglement, though initially counterintuitive, provide explanations for numerous occurrences and innovations in our daily existence. One of the most visible impacts of quantum mechanics is in the realm of technology. Semiconductors, integral to devices like smartphones, computers, and televisions, operate on principles of quantum mechanics, enabling the development of advanced electronics. Additionally, quantum phenomena underpin technologies such as lasers, LEDs, and MRI machines, revolutionizing fields from medicine to communication.Quantum mechanics also plays a crucial role in natural processes, such as photosynthesis, where quantum coherence boosts energy efficiency in plants. In the biological realm, quantum effects influence senses like smell and vision, adding another layer to the complexity of life. Even the colors we see in objects or the efficiency of solar panels are outcomes of quantum principles at work. Beyond practical technologies, quantum mechanics challenges our fundamental understanding of the universe. Concepts like the uncertainty principle and quantum superposition disrupt classical views of reality, leading to new perspectives on causality and measurement. As quantum research progresses, its applications are poised to expand further, potentially leading to breakthroughs in fields like quantum computing, cryptography, and energy systems. This exploration emphasizes how quantum mechanics, despite its abstract nature, is central to both the technologies and the natural phenomena that define our everyday experiences.

A Review of Fundamental Concepts in Quantum Physics

Ornella Tshering

Quantum physics, also known as quantum mechanics, is one of the most profound and successful theories in modern science, fundamentally transforming our understanding of the microscopic world. It governs the behavior of matter and energy at atomic and subatomic scales, where classical physics fails to provide accurate explanations. This review paper presents a comprehensive examination of the fundamental concepts of quantum physics, including wave–particle duality, quantum states, superposition, uncertainty principle, quantum measurement, entanglement, and quantum dynamics. The paper traces the historical development of quantum theory, reviews seminal contributions from key physicists, and analyzes major theoretical frameworks such as Schrödinger’s wave mechanics, Heisenberg’s matrix mechanics, and Dirac’s formalism. A systematic literature review of 25 scholarly sources is conducted to highlight the evolution, interpretations, and applications of quantum concepts. A comparative analysis of classical and quantum physics is provided to emphasize conceptual differences and paradigm shifts. The discussion explores philosophical implications, experimental validations, and emerging applications in quantum computing, cryptography, and quantum technologies. Finally, the paper concludes by summarizing key insights and outlining future directions for research and education in quantum physics.

Study of Evaluation of Importance and Future Prospect of Quantum Mechanics and Understand of Universe

K. A. Hossain

Quantum physics is the golden child of modern science. It is the basis of our understanding of atoms, radiation, and so much else, from elementary particles and basic forces to the behavior of materials. But for a century it has also been the problem child of science as it has been overwhelmed by intense disagreements between its inventors, strange paradoxes, and implications that seem like the stuff of fantasy. To understand the universe, quantum physics explores the behavior of the smallest particles in existence like quarks, electrons, and photons and which revealing a world that defies our everyday experiences and expectations. On the other hand, quantum mechanics (QM) is a fundamental theory in physics that describes the behavior of matter and energy at the atomic and subatomic levels, where classical physics fails to apply. However, the phenomena observed in QM can seem nothing short of miraculous. Physicists are trying to explain miracles of physics of universe meticulously which governed by precise scientific principles and mathematical equations. It is serious to modern technology, as its principles as well as wave-particle duality, superposition, and entanglement form the basis for electronics, computing, and medical technologies. The truth of QM in a scientific context refers to its exceptional ability to accurately describe and predict experimental results, not a philosophical ‘absolute truth’. Interestingly, the scientific elucidation of creation through quantum physics does not refute and contradict spiritual or religious narratives, rather augments our gratitude of the universe’s complexity and towards Almighty or Creator. The Bible’s or Quran’s account of creation provides a spiritual and philosophical outlook, accentuating purpose and intentionality. The precise explanations of particle behavior and cosmic formation in quantum physics, offers a balancing view grounded in empirical evidence. The purpose of this investigative study is to explore the scientific reality of QM and its purpose to depict the technical advancement for the development of modern civilization along with understand of universe in more logical way.
