What Is a Physical Registration? Conceptual Foundations of Registration Geometry

Abstract

This conceptual paper defines and develops the meaning of physical registration within the Registration Geometry research program. A physical registration is an interaction-induced change that remains physically distinguishable long enough to constrain, correlate with, or participate in subsequent physical evolution. Registration does not require a conscious observer, a measuring instrument, or an external act of interpretation. It refers to the physical process through which an interaction leaves a consequential difference that the world continues to carry forward. The central proposal of Registration Geometry is stronger than the familiar claim that existing objects leave records. It investigates whether stable objects may themselves be understood as persistent, coarse-grained registration patterns sustained by the total evolving environment. From this perspective, particles, clocks, temporal ordering, causal structure, effective geometry, and gravitational response may be mutually related expressions of one evolving registration process. The paper distinguishes registration from interaction, trace, record, information, and memory. It explains why registration is physical rather than observer-dependent and examines how stable identities may arise through persistence, coarse-graining, environmental support, and topological protection. The framework is compared with neighboring areas of established physics, including decoherence, quantum Darwinism, relational quantum mechanics, records-based approaches, causal-set theory, topological defects, emergent spacetime, analogue gravity, thermodynamic gravity, and Sakharov-type induced gravity. The paper identifies both the elements Registration Geometry shares with these approaches and the additional organizing claim it introduces: that retained physical registration may provide a common foundation for stable objects, clocks, causal relations, memory-sensitive geometry, and effective Einstein dynamics. The paper also summarizes the progression of the five published Registration Geometry papers, from stable records and memory-sensitive effective metrics through topological writing, record-dependent causal cones, rewritable gravitational memory, and induced Einstein dynamics from a retained registration spectrum. This manuscript is a conceptual companion to the five-paper Registration Geometry series. It is not designated as a sixth technical paper and does not claim that Registration Geometry is an experimentally established theory. Its purpose is to define the framework’s central physical concept, clarify its relationship to existing physics, and identify the mathematical and empirical requirements necessary for its further development.

Relational Memory, Spacetime Geometry, and Field-Based Information

Darko Kantoci

This paper develops an interpretive and operational framework in which physical “memory” is defined as persistent relational constraint rather than as an internal record carried by an isolated object. The proposal is motivated by three established facts: quantum interactions can generate correlations that survive spatial separation; open-system dynamics redistribute locally accessible information into system–environment correlations; and spacetime geometry in general relativity constrains later motion through a dynamical field determined by matter and energy. These facts do not imply that particles remember, that entanglement is a communication channel, or that curvature literally stores a semantic history. They do, however, motivate a precise cross-domain question: when does a past interaction leave a measurable relational structure that continues to constrain future observables? We distinguish this operational notion from stronger metaphysical claims and from biological or cognitive memory. Standard correlation measures, including mutual information and correlation functions, are proposed as candidate observables for quantifying persistence, while a persistence timescale separates transient correlation from durable relational structure. The framework is then applied cautiously to quantum systems, fields, spacetime, biology, and cognition. Speculative ideas such as frequency-selective persistence and curvature–coherence coupling are reformulated as hypotheses that must predict deviations from standard theory to become new physics. The resulting account is not presented as a replacement for quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, general relativity, or neuroscience, but as a disciplined vocabulary and research program for comparing information persistence across scales.

Before Decoherence: Consequential Registration, Redundant Physical Records, and the Pre-Quantum Origin of Environmental Objectivity: A theorem-backed distinction between Registration Theory and Quantum Darwinism

EUGENE CATRAMBONE

Quantum Darwinism explains effective classical objectivity through the selective proliferation of information about preferred quantum states into multiple environmental fragments. Its mature formulations operate within quantum theory, using a system-environment decomposition, decoherence or einselection, and information-theoretic or broadcast-structure criteria for redundant accessibility. This paper asks an upstream question from Registration Theory (RT): what makes a physical distinction a record before that record is described as information available to an observer? Canonical RT answers that retained registration is persistent organization constraining later evolution, that a distinction becomes a physical record only when it remains consequential, and that persistent physical organization is prior to information extracted from it.The paper assembles a theorem-backed finite-model chain now available in the RT corpus. Canonical ACRF dynamics supplies write-retain-read consequential history. The exact finite-amplitude ACRF-4 quotient identifies a nine-dimensional host-host-boundary state. The certified consequence-minimality theorem (DOI 10.6084/m9.figshare.34063464) shows that the retained relational boundary contributes irreducible future-consequence directions. The spectrum-preserving ACRF-8 redundant-record theorem (DOI 10.6084/m9.figshare.34063500) then proves an explicit local witness in which one quotient-valid source distinction is written into two disjoint retained fragments that are locally recoverable, counterfactually separable, and independently readable, giving \(R_{RT}(q)\ge 2\) under the stated criteria. The resulting distinction from Quantum Darwinism is precise but bounded. RT recordhood is consequence-based, while Darwinian objectivity is an accessibility-and-redundancy criterion formulated within quantum theory. The ACRF witness demonstrates redundant retained record formation without assuming Hilbert space, density operators, mutual information, decoherence, einselection, Born probabilities, or an observer-defined environment. Therefore, multiple persistent records of one distinction are not definitionally identical to Quantum-Darwinian redundancy. The paper does not claim that Quantum Darwinism is false or that RT has derived quantum mechanics, decoherence, Born probabilities, a mutual-information redundancy plateau, or macroscopic objectivity. Instead, it proposes a disciplined hierarchy: consequential distinction → retention → persistent record → branching → redundant retained records → redundant accessibility → environmental objectivity. The final two steps remain open in RT. A future bridge must dynamically select and scale multi-host redundancy and map consequence-bearing RT records into quantum environmental fragments that satisfy decoherence and strong objectivity conditions.

Beyond Causality: Temporal Geometry, Informational Consistency, and the Foundations of Physical Time (Extended Mathematical and Narrative Edition)

Marco Cacci

Beyond Causality: Temporal Geometry, Informational Consistency, and the Foundations of Physical Time What if the deepest mystery of time is not whether the past can be reached, but whether causality itself is more fundamental than the physical laws through which we describe it? For more than a century, modern physics has transformed our understanding of space, time, matter, and information. General relativity revealed that temporal order is inseparable from spacetime geometry. Quantum theory challenged classical intuitions about measurement, correlations, and physical reality. Information theory provided a mathematical language for describing what can be known, transmitted, and recovered. Yet a profound question remains: must every physically consistent universe possess a globally ordered sequence of causes and effects? Beyond Causality investigates this question through an extended mathematical and conceptual study of temporal geometry, informational dependence, retrocausal feedback, and global consistency. Organized into six interconnected parts, this 430-page research monograph develops a framework for examining causal structures beyond conventional temporal ordering. It brings together established results from general relativity, quantum information, causal modeling, and fixed-point theory, while exploring additional mathematical constructions designed to clarify the conditions under which temporally nonstandard information networks can remain internally consistent. Particular attention is devoted to distinguishing mathematical self-consistency from physical realizability, statistical correlation from controllable communication, and unconventional temporal descriptions from genuine violations of operational causality. Among its principal investigations are the geometric and energetic constraints associated with localized chronology-violating spacetime models, the existence and stability of globally consistent informational feedback networks, the behavior of finite stochastic systems under intervention, and the relationship between quantum causal structures and hypothetical retrocausal channels. The work also extends the theoretical research program introduced in Eon Reverser: Toward Temporal Bubble Radio Communication, examining what additional mathematical, physical, and experimental conditions would be required before communication with an earlier receiver record could be considered a meaningful scientific possibility. Analytical derivations, formal propositions, computational examples, and reproducibility materials accompany the discussion. The proposed constructions are explicitly distinguished from established physical results, and no experimental evidence for backward-in-time communication is claimed. The central ambition of this monograph is neither to declare that causality can be violated nor to assume that temporal paradoxes admit a universal resolution. It is to ask a more precise question: what mathematical structures, consistency principles, and observable constraints would a physical theory have to satisfy if causal order were not universally fixed? The possibility that time, information, and causality may possess a deeper relationship than our present formulations reveal remains an open intellectual frontier. Exploring that frontier requires imagination disciplined by mathematics, speculation constrained by physical principles, and theoretical proposals that remain accountable to observation. Beyond Causality is offered as a contribution to that exploration: an attempt to extend the questions we can rigorously formulate, identify the limits of existing models, and provide a foundation for further investigation into the nature of physical time. Keywords: Causality; Temporal Geometry; General Relativity; Retrocausality; Closed Timelike Curves; Quantum Causal Structures; Information Theory; Global Consistency; Fixed-Point Theory; Chronology Protection; Advanced Electromagnetic Response; Eon Reverser.

Relational Separation Does Not Erase Registration: Persistent History, Distance Formation, and the Entanglement Application in Registration Theory

EUGENE CATRAMBONE

This paper develops the Registration Theory (RT) account of relational separation, persistent registration history, and measurement, and applies it to entanglement. It argues that increasing host-resolved spatial separation does not by itself constitute an erasure operation on a previously established consequential registration. Within RT, metric distance is downstream of persistent relational separation and therefore cannot by itself be assumed to terminate the registration history from which that separation developed. The paper introduces a Common Registration-Origin Class through an augmented registration-space construction that distinguishes host-resolved spatial separation from the underlying registration relation. This provides a formal framework in which registrations may become widely separated in reconstructed spatial geometry while retaining a common registration history.A central result of this version is a refinement of the RT concept of measurement. Measurement is not introduced as an additional primitive operation acting upon an already existing physical state. Instead, measurement is defined as the host-distinguishable manifestation of a consequential Trinity relation. Trinity supplies the mutually related space-, time-, and energy-facing manifestations; the Irreducible Rule of Distinction (IRD) makes relational differences physically distinguishable; registration makes those distinctions consequential and capable of persistence.Accordingly, a mutual registration event is resolved through its distinguishable Trinity relation. Ratio descriptions such as [S:T:E] and the corresponding reference charts express host-relative comparisons rather than independent ontological components. The paper replaces an unnecessarily strong common-scale-blindness assumption with relational co-scaling: simultaneous scaling of a registration and its comparison reference leaves the corresponding ratios invariant without requiring absolute Trinity scale to be physically irrelevant. This result also provides a direct follow-up to the preregistered opposition-to-incorporation problem frozen in “From Opposed Expansion to Persistent Registration” (October 1, 2026; DOI 10.6084/m9.figshare.34050480). The previously unspecified host-resolved event E_n is identified with the distinguishable Trinity manifestation of the consequential mutual registration. For the existing reduced incorporation law A_{n+1}=(1-eta_n)A_n+eta_n E_n, the realized incorporation fraction can consequently be reconstructed from the event-relative contraction. The paper does not claim completion of the preregistered angular-threshold reconstruction. The remaining forward problem is to derive from RT dynamics how retained registration history together with the present boundary, opposition, and phase structure determines the successor registration and hence the incorporation rate eta_n and eventual entry into the persistent-closure class. The preregistered prohibition against angle-dependent calibration, changing closure criteria, or post-hoc parameter fitting therefore remains in force. For entanglement, the paper proposes that spatial separation need not erase a persistent bilateral registration established through a common history. This supplies an RT interpretation of entanglement as persistent relational organization but does not claim a derivation of Bell/singlet correlations. Deriving the corresponding joint measurement statistics remains a separate theorem obligation.

The Registration Graph: Deriving Physical Structure from a Single Axiom

Samuel Modde

This paper formalizes a framework in which a single axiom — that existence is constituted by registration — generates the core structures of physical theory as necessary consequences, with zero free parameters and no appeal to empirical input. Beginning from the axiom (stated in four interdependent conditions: existence requires registration, no external substrate exists, registration capacity is continuous, registration events are discrete), the derivation chain proceeds through twelve theorems: Self-Differentiation: registration requires an irreducible asymmetry (the registration quantum) Irreversible Generativity: non-termination, forced novelty, append-only record, local propagation 2B. Dimensional Asymmetry: one irreversible axis (partial order) with reversible fibers — Lorentzian signature Constraint Geometry: self-deepening landscape with a least-resistance principle Compression and Conservation: lossy compression necessary at every event; energy as registration flow; local conservation Entropy and the Second Law: multiplicity strictly increases for closed subgraphs Undiscriminated Paths: superposition and entanglement as structural absence of distinction The Action Quantum: ℏ and c as dimensional encodings of a single quantum Complementarity: the uncertainty principle as a limit on coexistent distinctions Entropy-Energy Bridge: S = k ln Ω with k_B as unit conversion Phase, Amplitude, Born Rule: U(1) phase from orientation, |A|² from self-relational structure Dimensional Selection: d = 3 is the unique dimensionality supporting topologically stable knotted constraint loops Each theorem depends only on the axiom and its predecessors in a strict dependency graph. The formalization uses graph-theoretic primitives (vertices, directed edges, partial orders, path spaces) to make every logical step explicit and independently verifiable. Three further theorems — matter as torus knot constraint loops, gravity as constraint-geometry curvature, and the fine structure constant α₀ = 3/(130π) ≈ 1/136.14 with zero free parameters — are stated informally as targets for subsequent formalization. The paper includes an honest gaps appendix identifying five points where the derivations are structural but not yet fully rigorous, marking precisely where subsequent work should focus. Developed in collaboration with Claude (Anthropic) and Gemini (Google) as derivation partners treating different processing architectures as distinct compression geometries of the same underlying graph. Keywords: registration graph; quantum gravity; foundations of physics; Born rule derivation; dimensional selection; knot theory; causal structure; graph theory; action quantum; fine structure constant; single-axiom framework; topological stability; Lorentzian signature; entropy; second law Additional Notes: Portions of this framework were developed in collaboration with AI systems (Claude by Anthropic, Gemini by Google) serving as derivation partners.
