Abstract

Quantum machine learning is the use of quantum computers to perform machine learning tasks. Also, it can assist with large data sets and unstructured data. QML systems could enhance machine learning and enable new means of data analysis by leveraging quantum mechanics principles such as entanglement, interference, and superposition. This section discusses the state of the art with respect to hybrid quantum models, fully quantum algorithms, quantum-assisted traditional learning, and other varieties. Applications range from drug discovery to supply-chain optimisation, cyber safety and natural language processing. While QML has the possibility to be a game-changer, there are many roadblocks such as quantum decoherence, data encoding issues, and algorithms not maturing. These problems require coordinated incremental advances in hardware, algorithm design, and theory to resolve. This paper does all the essential background work that provides significant concepts, status of ongoing implementation and major algorithms, security and compliance landscape of QML that would help in looking into the future of QML.
