P-2:The Language of Space — The Geometric Origin of Double-Slit Interference

Abstract

The double-slit experiment is the heart of quantum mechanics, yet its standard interpretation relies on the postulate of wavefunction probability amplitude. Starting from Space Ontology, we demonstrate that interference phenomena can be entirely derived from the geometric properties of classical spatial modes, without introducing probability amplitudes. Each slit is modeled as a localized soliton solution of the spatial orientation field equation; the interference pattern arises from the linear superposition of two mode energy densities in the far field. The key discovery is that the interference visibility V is uniquely determined by the geometric entanglement entropy E_geo of the modes, satisfying V = tanh(2E_geo). Here E_geo = ln Lambda(alpha) is a function of the mode's shape parameter alpha — a Gaussian mode (alpha=2) has zero entropy and cannot interfere, while a flat mode (alpha>2) carries large coherent capacity. This theory naturally explains the which-way and quantum eraser experiments: path marking introduces a third mode that dilutes correlations via the many-body correlation reduction theorem; erasure corresponds to the decoupling of that mode. As a flagship validation, we show that the theory quantitatively accounts for the macroscopic interference of 7000-atom sodium clusters, predicting a coherence width of approximately 66 nm — confirmed by experiment. Two testable predictions are proposed: a boundary shape compression effect, and a material-dependent visibility for nanoclusters of different compositions. This work demonstrates that wave-particle duality is not a mysterious quantum feature, but a manifestation of the geometric entanglement entropy of spatial modes — the flatter the mode, the greater the coherence capacity, and the clearer the interference. This paper is the second in the first series (17 papers total) of Space Ontology.

A Geometric Origin of Wave-Particle Duality: Testable Predictions from Double-Slit Interference

zhengda li

Description: This study provides a testable geometric origin explanation for wave-particle duality in quantum mechanics, starting from first principles of discrete geometry. Core Scientific Question While the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics can precisely predict experimental phenomena such as double-slit interference, the physical origin of wave-particle duality itself has long been treated as a fundamental axiom, lacking deeper explanation. This work attempts to answer: Could quantum phenomena arise from the collective statistical behavior of more fundamental discrete geometric structures? Theoretical Framework Based on a recently developed discrete geometry framework, we regard continuous spacetime as emerging from the topological gluing and recursive folding of Cantor sets. This geometric construction naturally leads to defect structures carrying intrinsic degrees of freedom, whose statistical fluctuations manifest as random noise accompanying the geometric phase field. The two-point correlation of the noise characterizes thermalization information, while higher-order correlations carry non-Gaussian information and long-term memory. Core Predictions For the double-slit interference experiment, we derive a coherence evolution formula and make three directly testable predictions: First, even under strong which-path measurement, interference fringes will exhibit residual visibility due to contributions from higher-order noise correlations, with magnitude between one-thousandth and one-hundredth. This stands in sharp contrast to the complete disappearance predicted by standard decoherence theory. Second, the decoherence process exhibits biexponential behavior, with fast and slow time scales whose ratio ranges from one hundred to one thousand. Third, path information and interference visibility satisfy a specific conservation relation, reflecting the intrinsic constraints on information transformation in discrete geometry. Experimental Proposal We propose a quantum optics experiment using squeezed light to test these predictions. The scheme employs nano-fabricated double slits and single-photon sources with tunable statistical properties, directly verifying the physical effects of higher-order correlations by comparing interference visibility differences between squeezed and coherent light sources. Current single-photon source technology already possesses the capability to resolve the required precision. Scientific Significance If the predictions are confirmed, this would for the first time experimentally establish quantum phenomena as collective statistical manifestations of discrete geometric structures, providing a geometric origin explanation for the Heisenberg uncertainty principle and an objective, consciousness-free mechanism for wavefunction collapse. Furthermore, this would provide tabletop experimental evidence for Planck-scale spacetime discreteness, building a bridge between quantum foundations and cosmological information research. If falsified, this would constrain microscopic parameters in the theory, pushing the model toward more complex colored noise generalizations.

P-3: Geometric Entanglement: From Mode Coupling to Bell Inequality Violation

Y L Qiu

Abstract: Quantum entanglement and Bell inequality violation are regarded as the most iconic non-classical phenomena in quantum mechanics, yet their physical origin remains mysterious. Within Space Ontology, we demonstrate that the nonlocal correlations between an EPR pair are not due to "spooky action at a distance," but are a natural manifestation of the intrinsic geometric correlations between two identical spatial modes generated by the same disturbance. We introduce the effective shape parameter alpha_eff and the geometric entanglement entropy E_geo, and derive from first principles the analytic relation between the CHSH polynomial S and E_geo: S = 2√2 · tanh(2E_geo(alpha_eff)). The classical limit (E_geo → 0) recovers Bell's inequality (S ≤ 2), while the quantum limit (E_geo → ∞) yields the maximum violation S = 2√2. By direct comparison with authoritative data from loophole-free Bell experiments, high-dimensional orbital angular momentum entanglement experiments, and the Micius satellite entanglement distribution experiment, the theoretical predictions are in excellent agreement with experimental observations — with typical deviations below 3% and no free parameters. We further propose schemes for actively designing entanglement resources by controlling the shape parameter of spatial modes, providing a new physical dimension for quantum communication and quantum computation. This work demonstrates that quantum nonlocality can be completely reduced to space geometry — twin ripples are telepathic because they share the same initial texture from the same spatial disturbance. H-SET:Space Medium Explanation of the Double-Slit Interference Experiment: A Quantitative Scientific Brief of the Huaxia Spacetime Total Conservation Theory

Changxi Hong

The double-slit interference experiment remains one of the most puzzling phenomena in quantum mechanics. Standard quantum mechanics explains it through wave-particle duality, superposition, and wavefunction collapse—all mathematical postulates without physical mechanisms. Within the Huaxia Spacetime Total Conservation Theory (H-SET), the electron is not a point particle but a helical dislocation loop in the space medium with spatial extension determined by the space quantum coherence scale. Interference arises because the elastic field of a single electron loop simultaneously covers both slits, and the two emergent elastic waves interfere on the screen. The effective de Broglie wavelength is derived as the geometric extension of the dislocation loop in the momentum direction, yielding identical numerical values to standard quantum mechanics but with a physical origin. Observation-induced disappearance of interference is explained as the destruction of elastic boundary conditions at the slits by the macroscopic elastic field of the detector, not by mysterious wavefunction collapse. Three testable predictions are provided: precise fringe spacing for fullerene (C₆₀) interference, the quantitative relationship between path distinguishability and fringe visibility, and the mass limit for macromolecular interference.

The Double-Slit Experiment in the Bivector Standard Model

Bryan Sanctuary

The double-slit experiment is commonly interpreted as evidence that a single electron must be described by a spatially extended wavefunction whose path amplitudes interfere. Here, we present an alternative geometric formulation within the Bivector Standard Model, in which the observed far-field interference pattern is reproduced while the phase is attributed to an internal bivector clock carried by the electron. In this approach, each electron remains localized and produces a single detection event, while the familiar fringe pattern emerges statistically from the accumulation of many impacts. Interference arises from the comparison of clock phases associated with geometrically distinct paths, rather than from the superposition of spatial waves. The resulting probability distribution recovers the standard two-slit interference factor, the single-slit diffraction envelope, and the usual fringe-spacing relation in the Fraunhofer regime. The de Broglie wavelength emerges as the spatial manifestation of this transported phase. This formulation provides a geometric account of the origin of phase in single-electron interference, consistent with standard results while offering a distinct physical interpretation.

9D-USTE Geometric Origin of Quantum Phenomena: Double-Slit Interference from 6D Internal Field Fluctuations

Houlang Li

In this work, we extend the 9-dimensional Ultra-Spacetime-Time-Evolution (9D-USTE) framework to explain the origin of quantum double-slit interference from pure geometric field dynamics. Based on the 3+6 dimensional spacetime structure (3D macroscopic spacetime plus a compact 6D internal manifold), a scalar field σ (radion field) governing the volume of the 6D compact internal manifold is shown to exhibit wave-like propagation across the entire spatial region, while the corresponding particle is localized in 3D macroscopic space. We demonstrate that the observed interference pattern is directly identified with the squared gradient of the σ field, whose fluctuations pass through both slits and superimpose. The particle trajectory is guided by the geometric field distribution, yielding a fully deterministic geometric interpretation of quantum duality without wavefunction collapse, nonlocality, or probabilistic postulates. Quantitative estimates of the σ field mass m_σ are provided, and the correspondence between the σ-field wavelength and the de Broglie wavelength is established by fitting existing electron and C₆₀ double-slit experimental data. We further discuss how the compact 6D internal manifold provides a geometric mechanism to address Bell inequality-related nonlocality concerns, distinguishing the 9D-USTE framework from existing Bohmian mechanics and Kaluza-Klein theories. This work advances 9D-USTE as a consistent geometric alternative for unifying classical gravity and quantum phenomena.

Phase-First Quantum Interference

Jörg Geisbauer

This paper develops a phase-first reconstruction of quantum interference within standard quantum mechanics and wave optics. Its central idea is that interference patterns become conceptually clearer when the complex phase is treated as the organizing structure and probability or intensity density is treated as the visible statistical expression of that structure. The guiding principle is: the phase structures the pattern; the density renders it visible. The paper shows how this principle applies to single-slit diffraction, double-slit interference, Airy patterns, Fourier optics, Fresnel propagation, probability current, the Madelung representation, which-way marking, reduced coherence, and quantum eraser experiments. In each case, the observed density pattern is interpreted as the visible result of coherent phase relations among amplitudes. The reconstruction is strictly conservative. It does not modify quantum mechanics, the Born rule, unitary dynamics, or standard wave optics. It introduces no new postulates and makes no new empirical prediction. Its purpose is conceptual and pedagogical: to clarify the architecture of quantum interference by placing relative phase at the center of the analysis. This work is Part I of the series The Geometry of Phase. It establishes the phase-geometric foundation for later parts of the series, where the same perspective is extended to de Broglie matter waves, proper-time phase, relativistic action, and possible curvature-coupled phase extensions.
