A Geometric Route to the Born Rule in the Stochastic Rupture Framework: Reduction to a Single Tangent-Orientation Hypothesis

Abstract

We present an exploratory geometric route, within the Stochastic Rupture (SR/ICR) framework, that reduces the Born rule P=|a|² to a single central hypothesis: that the physical quantum phase is the holographic tangent orientation of the fundamental 2D screens. We show that conditional on this hypothesis, the remaining structure follows: the complex conjugate a ∗ arises from the Z2 front/back orientation inversion of a screen (a geometric fact), the continuous U(1) phase arises from the tangent orientation of a holographic surface, the temporal evolution e−iEt/ℏ follows from the wave dispersion already present in the SR master equation, and the modulussquared weight |a|² = a · a∗follows from counting both faces of a screen. We make explicit what is derived, what is hypothesised, and what remains open. The central hypothesis is supported by a uniqueness argument (of the local geometric variables of a 2D surface, only the tangent orientation lives in S1 ≃ U(1)) and by a consistency check against the four defining properties of the quantum phase, but it is not proven: we do not establish that the phase must be the tangent orientation. We further identify the connection to the Wallstrom problem (the quantisationof-circulation condition that inequivalence-proofs show Madelung-type reconstructions require) and argue that the topological defects of the SR network (π1 = Z) are a natural candidate to supply it. This is a priority-timestamp record of an open research programme, not a closed derivation.

A Geometric Companion to Stochastic Rupture: Fisher Geometry, the Flash Map, the Born Rule, and the Protection of Lorentz Symmetry

GUILHERME ZAMBUZI

This companion collects results of the Stochastic Rupture (SR) framework that are absent from the main paper. Its organising claim is that a single geometric object—the Fisher–Rao metric, unique by Chentsov’s theorem—supplies the pruning rate, the noise, and the barrier of the collapse sector, leaving that sector with no free choice of its own. We derive rather than posit. The barrier V = γ0/(1−χ) is the Fisher transport of the Casini relative entropy, which fixes the inverse-square exponent as the product of a logarithmic divergence and the Chentsov metric; the noise temperature is Teff = ℏγ0/kB, saturating the Feller condition as an identity. We construct the flash map, identifying pruning events with Wright–Fisher fixations: a martingale argument gives P(k) = |ak|², supplying the branch→effect map that Busch’s theorem requires, so that Born becomes a theorem conditional on one hypothesis-and Born exactness becomes equivalent to neutrality of the race, hence falsifiable. That hypothesis, that the quantum phase is the tangent orientation, is promoted to an elimination theorem: of the four compact angular variables the substrate possesses, Wallstrom’s condition leaves exactly one, with Poincar´e–Hopf supplying the integer winding. On the field-theoretic side we concede that friction is a relevant operator and show its coefficient is nevertheless fixed: multiplicative noise vanishes in vacuum, leaving Γ0 = Λ, so the wave regime (z = 1) holds for all observable physics and diffusive scaling is confined to super-Hubble scales. Transverse traceless gravitons preserve areas at linear order and do not inherit the friction; we accordingly retract an earlier gravitational-wave damping estimate and replace it with a polarisation-selective prediction. The MSRJD action, having no free choices, selects Itˆo by covariance and causality; its quantum lift is the Drude–Lorentz bath, satisfying KMS with analyticity strip 1/γ0 and saturating both the Planckian dissipation and Maldacena-Shenker-Stanford chaos bounds. Throughout, the epistemic status of each claim-derived, assumed, or open-is stated in the text. Two founding premises remain declared rather than derived: the master equation itself, and relational parsimony. Results here are internally verified, symbolically or numerically; they have not been subjected to independent review, which we invite.

Stochastic Rupture as a Bekenstein-Bounded Mechanism for Objective Wave-Function Collapse: Emergent Proper Time, Entropic Gravity, and Informational Constraints on Quantum Histories

GUILHERME ZAMBUZI

Stochastic Rupture (SR) proposes that objective wavefunction collapse is triggered when local von Neumann entropy saturates a fraction eta of the holographic Bousso bound on causal-diamond surfaces. The SR network is concretely realized as a simple cubic lattice — square holographic sheets stacked at Planck-scale intervals — whose exact Laplacian spectrum derives the dimensional flow d s: 2 ( UV, holographic ) to 3 ( stacking ) to 4 ( Lorentzian, open ) without free parameters. The framework has two logically independent sectors. The collapse sector is self-contained and makes parameter-free falsifiable predictions. The general SR decoherence rate Gamma SR = Gm squared /(4 h bar sigma x squared ) produces a sigma x to the minus 2 scaling that discriminates SR from CSL (sigma x to the minus 3) and Diósi–Penrose (flat), independently of any free parameters; the definitive test is at MAQRO (10 to the 9–10 to the 10 amu). For GHZ/Bell states on NISQ hardware, the SR-native prediction is tau Bell / tau GHZ is similar to N squared, with a finite-size correction: reliable collapse onset at N stable is approximately equal to 1.25/(1 minus eta ) rather than the theoretical threshold 1/(1 minus eta ). The geometric sector — Newton's law, Einstein equations, spin-2 graviton — is conditional on the IR limit d s to 4 and is presented explicitly as such. Two new structural results reduce the number of free parameters. The bond-percolation threshold of the simple cubic lattice, p c = 0.2488, matches the cosmological structure-suppression parameter e 0 = 0.249 plus or minus 0.035 to within 0.1 %, linking the connectivity transition of the SR network to the S8 tension without a free fit. The restoration rate lambda q, previously unconstrained, is shown to satisfy lambda q/ gamma 0 is approximately equal to 1/ the square root of pi through a three-step geometric argument: vibrating holographic sheets drive saturation fluctuations to the 2D square interface critical point p c=1/2; Bernoulli variance at criticality gives sigma = the square root of 3 /2; three independent propagation channels in 3D then fix lambda q/ gamma 0 = C/ the square root of pi with C is approximately equal to 0.995. The remaining open step — showing the SR interface dynamics belongs to the Model A universality class with additive noise — reduces to a single one-loop RG calculation. The framework makes fourteen falsifiable predictions spanning NISQ processors, MAQRO, LISA, and Euclid, explicitly distinguishing derived results from calibrated parameters and open problems.

Conditional Born-Rule Derivation from S1 ξ Compactness and Gleason's Theorem

Igor Grčman

This derivation block presents a conditional route to the Born probability rule within the EDC framework, based on two ingredients: the compactness of the extra-dimensional circle S^1_\xi and Gleason’s theorem on Hilbert-space probability measures. The note shows that L^2(S^1_\xi) is automatically a separable Hilbert space, with the standard Fourier basis e^{in\alpha}, and argues that, under the scanning hypothesis, the relevant observer-side amplitudes can be represented in that Hilbert space. Once this conditional step is accepted, Gleason’s theorem yields the Born rule P(n)=|c_n|^2 as the unique probability measure compatible with the Hilbert projection structure. The argument is therefore not a derivation from the full EDC action, but a conditional derivation whose single non-mathematical load-bearing link is the scanning hypothesis itself. A second contribution of the note is conceptual clarification. It explains why complex amplitudes arise naturally as the canonical Fourier language on the circle S^1_\xi, rather than as an independent postulate, and it carefully distinguishes between physical scanning readout with finite window functions and the exact Fourier-mode projection structure required by Gleason’s theorem. The document also sketches how the inner-product structure may be inherited into 4D sectors through Kaluza–Klein decomposition, while explicitly warning that the full physical reduction dictionary is not carried out here. In this way, the note is deliberately narrow in scope: it does not claim to derive the Schrödinger equation, entanglement, collapse, or the scanning hypothesis itself. The document is intended as a derivation note within the larger EDC observer-side quantum program. Its main result is epistemic rather than rhetorical: within the present dependency chain, the Born rule should be classified as [Dc] (derived conditionally) rather than as a conjecture. What remains open is equally explicit: deriving the scanning amplitude from SEDC, establishing the full time-evolution law, constructing a multi-particle tensor-product structure, explaining outcome selection, and making quaternionic exclusion rigorous.

Geometric Block Universe

JONATHAN CHARLES DOWNES

We present the Geometric Block Universe (GBU), a framework in which the universe is a single static geometric structure and the probabilistic content of quantum mechanics is derived from that geometry rather than postulated. The central technical task is to obtain the Born rule as a theorem of Riemannian spectral geometry. At the quantum level of description the block is modelled by a compact Riemannian manifold B. The Riemannian volume measure is the natural density on B, and it forces the L2 inner product; the physical states are selected by a Dirichlet variational principle, which we prove to be the unique admissible choice among natural functionals of the appropriate degree under two explicitly stated and minimal hypotheses, in every dimension n ≥ 2. Under these hypotheses the Born rule is not assumed: it follows as a geometric theorem, the squared L2 overlap of states forced by the naturality of the volume measure together with Gleason's theorem [5] applied after holographic truncation. Quantum states are identified with Laplace-Beltrami eigenfunctions, the spectral modes of the metric Laplacian on B. The framework is a no-collapse one, and its ontology is block-universe realist: what is ontic is the geometry, while the state ψ is an indexical description of the transition amplitudes available to an observer from its current block. Nothing collapses and nothing splits; there is a fixed structure and observers who traverse it, and what appears within a traversal as a measurement event is a feature of how a path sits in the block rather than a process the structure undergoes. This places GBU in the no-collapse family, while departing from it ontologically, replacing dynamically generated branches with pre-existing geodesic paths. The holographic bound truncates the spectrum to a finite physical subspace, suggesting a finite-mode regularisation of ultraviolet divergences, with recovery of low-energy quantum field theory deferred to Paper 3. Temporal asymmetry is derived as an observer-selection effect on record-accumulating geodesics rather than a fundamental feature of the geometry. The constants c, ℏ and G are identified as geometric conversion factors between levels of the block structure. We demonstrate the framework on an explicit two-sphere calculation, and outline a five-paper programme. Throughout, the paper is explicit about the boundary between what is proven (the conditional Born-rule theorem), what is a route with a verified proof-of-concept (the dynamics), and what remains conjectural (the origin of the two-level structure, and the constants).

Reduction of the Born Rule to a Liouville–Holonomy Equivariance Problem in TS5D

Noel COPINET

What if the Born rule were not a postulate, but a theorem? Since 1926, the Born rule — which assigns probability ∣⟨φ∣ψ⟩∣2|\langle\varphi|\psi\rangle|^2 ∣⟨φ∣ψ⟩∣2 to a quantum measurement outcome — has been imposed as an axiom. No derivation from non-quantum premises is universally accepted: neither Bohm, Nelson, Valentini, nor Deutsch-Wallace has closed the debate. This paper proposes a radically new approach. Within the framework of the **Five-Dimensional Solitonic Theory (TS5D)** — an extended classical theory on the manifold M4×S1/Z6\mathcal{M}^4 \times S^1/\mathbb{Z}_6 M4×S1/Z6 —, we prove that the derivation of Born *reduces* to a hierarchized system of **two precise mathematical locks**: Technical lock: regularization of the Liouville measure on field-theoretic phase space (three routes identified: modal truncation, cylindrical measures, Gaussian regularization). Dynamical lock: Liouville–holonomy equivariance under soliton-apparatus interaction dynamics. If both locks are removed, Gleason's theorem automatically locks in the ∣ψ∣2|\psi|^2 ∣ψ∣2 form. Four partial results structure the program: Emergence of Hermitian structure via Noether U(1)U(1) U(1) — *established*. Identification of the 5D holonomy phase as a geometric hidden variable — structurally established. Preservation of the Liouville measure by Hamiltonian flow — classical. Gleason's theorem applied to the effective Hilbert space — established under conditions. Decisive contribution: Appendix E presents a Bernoulli reference model in which the full chain leading to Born is explicitly proved — strong mixing ⟹ exponential thresholds ⟹ rates Γk∝∣ck∣2\Gamma_k \propto |c_k|^2 Γk∝∣ck∣2 ⟹ pointer competition ⟹ P(k)=∣ck∣2\mathbb{P}(k) = |c_k|^2 P(k)=∣ck∣2. Numerical validation with Monte Carlo error ∼10−3\sim 10^{-3} ∼10−3 over 50,000 samples. Candidate experimental signatures distinguishing TS5D from standard quantum mechanics and from Bohm-Valentini: Topological mass splitting in ratios 13:15:17 2π/62\pi/6 2π/6 periodicity in Bell-type correlations Gaussian decay of CHSH visibility with spectral marking What this work claims to do: transform a vague question — "how does TS5D derive Born?" — into a precise, hierarchized mathematical problem, attackable by the standard tools of functional analysis and ergodic theory. Following Hilbert's tradition of structuring mathematics in 1900, this work proposes a theorematic reduction rather than a closure, and unambiguously identifies the remaining research directions. Compatibility with no-go theorems: Bell (5D geometric exit), Kochen-Specker (natural contextuality), PBR (ontic field in 5D) — all explicitly analyzed.

Born's Rule from Geometry: A Non-Invertibility Route to Quantum Probabilities

J.P. Charlton Jr.

We derive Born’s rule as a geometric theorem inside Charlton Geometry (CG), removing probability as a primitive axiom. The core mechanism is non-invertibility: the Charlton Operator η = δ − 2 ω ⊗ ω forgets polarity, since η(ω) = η(−ω), and therefore admits no global inverse back to Euclidean parent data. This lost state is compounded by intrinsic phase: a U(1) sector whose periodicity identifies θ ∼ θ +2π, further collapsing distinguishable microstate into a single Lorentz-observable macrostate. We formalize both effects as an observational quotient q : e S ↠ S with fiber group Z2 °ø U(1), and show that any observer confined to S must represent the unresolved fiber by an invariant measure. The Born distribution then appears as the unique gauge- and rotation-invariant pushforward of Haar measure from the non-invertible fiber to measurement outcomes, yielding P(i) = ∥Πiψ∥2 without postulating ψ, Πi, or the squared modulus rule. Crucially, the multiplicative composition of these probabilities is recovered not by postulate, but as a theorem of holonomy functoriality within the lift-bundle connection. In this view, quantum probabilities are not ontic propensities but a geometric accounting ofirrecoverable information discarded by reflection and phase identification.
