## Title The Relational Closure Framework: From Relations to Matter via Causal Consistency ## Authors Mingdong He (Independent Researcher, ORCID: 0009-0009-5176-7571) ### Overview This deposit contains the complete source code and compiled PDF of the Relational Closure Framework (RCF) version 2.0C, a relational approach to the foundations of physics developed as a candidate contribution to Hilbert's sixth problem (the axiomatization of physics). The framework proposes that the universe is constituted by **relations** rather than objects. Stable relations form **closures** (self-consistent cycles); closures generate topological invariants (holonomies); and these invariants underpin all physical structures—conservation laws, the least-action principle, the Born rule, dimension, geometry, and matter—as emergent phenomena of the closure network at different scales. ### What is new in v2.0C Version 2.0C introduces a **causal consistency principle**: physical existence requires causal consistency as a precondition, not as a consequence of continuous spacetime. What appears as continuity is reinterpreted as **pseudo-continuity**—the statistical artifact of mutually constraining discrete closures. This reframing dissolves (rather than solves) the continuum-limit problem that has obstructed discrete approaches to physics for decades. Key new results in v2.0C: 1. **Causal consistency as physical precondition** — The speed of light is derived as the enforcement mechanism for causal consistency (not an arbitrary postulate). 2. **Randomness from constraint gaps** — Quantum probability arises naturally from the incompleteness of discrete constraints, not from an axiom. 3. **Wave function as constraint-gap envelope** — The wave function exists because the network is discrete; it "waves" because holonomy phases interfere; it is non-classical because it carries probability, not energy. 4. **Schrödinger equation from pseudo-continuity** — Via the Madelung transformation, the Schrödinger equation is shown to emerge from: (i) holonomy action stationarity (Hamilton–Jacobi), (ii) constraint-gap-induced probability density, and (iii) Noether conservation (continuity equation). The quantum potential is interpreted as the signature of pseudo-continuity failure. 5. **Fields as long-range constraint mechanisms** — All fundamental fields are intrinsically long-range because causal consistency is a global requirement. The de Sitter entropy (~10^122) is conjectured as the information-theoretic capacity bound on causal constraints. ### Core results (retained from v1.2) - A **generalized Noether theorem**: conservation is identified with the kernel of the exchange map, derived from axioms without assuming symmetry. - A **least-action principle**: the action is proved to be necessarily a function of closure holonomies; δS = 0 is equivalent to a non-abelian Kirchhoff law; the continuum limit recovers Maxwell and Yang–Mills equations. - The **Born rule**: stochasticity arises from the observer as an open dynamical system (Nakajima–Zwanzig); the square law |α|² is forced by the Gleason–Busch theorem under finite additivity. - The **Z₃–γ₅ algebraic correspondence**: a strict algebraic identity linking the minimal relational closure (3-cycle) to the Dirac chirality operator. - A **quantum error correction correspondence**: the Gauss-law operator is structurally identical to the toric-code stabilizer; vacuum stability is topologically protected. ### AI use disclosure This manuscript was prepared with the assistance of AI language models (Claude/ChatGPT/Gemini families) for typesetting, reference formatting, and consistency checking. # Project Description: The Relational Closure Framework (RCF) ## 1. Project Purpose and Background (研究目的与背景) Modern fundamental physics faces deep structural crises, primarily manifested in the mathematical and conceptual incompatibilities between General Relativity (space-time geometry) and Quantum Mechanics (probability amplitudes and non-locality). Most contemporary attempts at unification (such as String Theory or Loop Quantum Gravity) retain the classical paradigm of "objects" (e.g., strings, loops, points) or pre-existing spacetime backgrounds as their ontological starting point. The purpose of this research project is to develop and formalize the **Relational Closure Framework (RCF)**, a radical, background-independent, and purely relational foundation for physics. RCF operates on the core philosophical and mathematical premise that **relations are ontologically prior to objects**. Objects, spaces, fields, and particles do not possess inherent existence; instead, they are emergent phenomena. The framework systematically models how stable physical entities and laws arise from self-consistent, discrete cyclic relations called **closures**. When discrete relations close upon themselves, they generate topological invariants (**holonomies**) that act as structural anchors. The ultimate goal of this project is to provide a rigorous mathematical derivation of the core pillars of physics—including conservation laws, the principle of least action, Born’s rule, the speed of light, and the emergence of continuous spacetime—directly from the discrete algebraic properties of these closure networks. ## 2. Methodology and Theoretical Architecture (方法论与理论架构) The project proceeds axiomatically by establishing four primary structural axioms and one fundamental derived theorem, utilizing tools from abstract algebra, higher category theory, operator algebras (von Neumann algebras), and quantum information theory: * **Axiom 1 (Primacy of Relations):** Pure distinction forms the precursor to all relations. There are no pre-existing entities or backgrounds. * **Derived Theorem 1 (Non-Commutativity):** Because relations must occur sequentially to establish distinction, non-commutativity is a mathematically derived necessity, providing the foundational algebra for quantum observables. * **Axiom 2 (Closure-Induced Invariance):** Stable structures exist if and only if relations form self-consistent cyclic configurations. These closures generate topological invariants (holonomies) across different topological scales. * **Axiom 3 (Chirality from Order):** Spatial and structural chirality (such as the \mathbb{Z}_3 minimal non-trivial chiral closure) emerges inherently from the algebraic ordering of relations. * **Axiom 4 (Bidirectional Group Exchange):** Observation and physical measurement are modeled not as passive recordings, but as bidirectional group-theoretic exchanges between overlapping relational systems forming a joint closure. ## 3. Expected Outcomes and Key Derivations (预期数学成果与推导) The primary expected outcome of this project is a self-consistent mathematical physics framework that derives standard physics as a macroscopic statistical limit of the discrete network. Specifically, the framework delivers the following five principal theoretical results: * **A Generalized Noether Theorem:** The project proves that physical conservation laws are equivalent to the non-trivial kernel of the relational exchange map. In the continuous limit, this reduces to standard Noether currents, but in the discrete regime, it predicts strictly discrete, quantized conserved numbers. * **Derivation of the Least Action Principle:** The action functional (S) is derived as a direct function of the network’s closure invariants (holonomies). The classical principle of least action (\delta S = 0) is shown to be equivalent to a non-Abelian Kirchhoff's law enforcing relational consistency across the network, recovering Maxwell and Yang-Mills fields in the continuous limit. * **Emergence of the Speed of Light (c) and Causality:** Utilizing the **Lieb-Robinson bound** on discrete networks, the project demonstrates that the propagation of structural constraints has a finite, maximum velocity (v_{LR}). This maximum velocity is identified as the physical speed of light (c = v_{LR}). Consequently, causal consistency (the absence of closed timelike curves) emerges as a mathematical corollary of network locality. * **Derivation of the Born Rule:** Quantum randomness is explained via the **Nakajima-Zwanzig projection method** acting on the information limits of localized observers. By applying the **Gleason-Busch theorem**, the quadratic probability rule (|\alpha|^2) is derived rigorously from finite additivity and non-contextuality within the closure space. * **Origin of Spacetime and Wave Functions:** Physical spacetime is reinterpreted as a "pseudo-continuity"—a statistical artifact arising from mutually constraining discrete closures. Similarly, wave functions and the Schrödinger equation are derived as the statistical envelopes of underlying discrete constraint-gap dynamics. ## 4. Empirical Predictions and Observational Significance (经验预测与实验检验) While primarily a foundational and theoretical physics project, RCF yields distinct, falsifiable empirical predictions that differentiate it from standard quantum mechanics and general relativity, providing a clear pathway for future experimental validation (e.g., via multi-ion traps or superconducting qubit benchmarks): * **Observer-Capacity Dependent Decoherence:** RCF predicts that a quantum system's phase dephasing rate (\gamma_{deph}) is explicitly bounded by, and scales non-linearly with, the total information storage/processing capacity (C) of the local physical observer. * **The Quantum "Locking Phase Transition":** The framework predicts that when the information required to specify a quantum state (I_{req}) approaches the maximum capacity of the environment/observer (C), the system will undergo a sharp, non-linear phase transition, dramatically freezing its lifetime within its pointer basis. * **Non-Linear S-Shaped Trigger Curves:** In quantum erasure or interferometry tracking experiments, the interference visibility (V) as a function of information saturation (\Delta = I_{req} - C) is predicted to follow a distinct Sigmoid (S-shaped) curve, rather than the linear or pure exponential decay predicted by standard environmental decoherence models. * **Cosmological Entropy Bounds:** The framework provides a localized, boundary-driven explanation for de Sitter space entropy, predicting the maximum cosmological observer complexity to be bounded near S_{dS} \approx 10^{122} based on the global finiteness of the constraint network.
A finitist, relational axiomatization of physics: quantum theory and a relativity sector derived from four axioms about group-valued relations and closure. Contributions to the foundations of quantum mechanics (Born rule derivation, quantum reconstruction, local tomography, complex field selection), the emergence of time and causal structure in discrete networks, discrete Noether theorems, lattice gauge structure, and the Schrödinger equation derived by two independent routes. Every claim is graded in a Claim Ledger; every numerical claim is machine-verified with archived scripts; negative results are reported at full strength. What this paper does The universe is taken to be constituted by relations rather than objects. Stable relations form closures (self-consistent cycles) whose holonomies carry the physical content. Four axioms — primacy of relations (group-valued, edge-borne), closure stability, chirality from order, and observation as bidirectional group exchange — yield, at explicitly graded and conditional levels: Quantum sector Exchange-completeness theorems for finite label groups: abelian at all cycle ranks; non-abelian on the single cycle (Wilson readouts plus class-sum convolutions generate the full matrix algebra); the multi-cycle non-abelian case on the operational-equivalence quotient, with the obstruction completely characterized via class-preserving outer automorphisms — and the quotient's necessity now stratified by the source of word blindness (see New in Version 24.0). The Born rule, proved for finite abelian networks from a strictly weaker relational readout premise (statistics of realizable effects depend only on relational content); non-contextuality has this single source; additivity is basis-relative and declared as such. The Schrödinger equation by two routes of unequal premise grade, maintained side by side: a spectral route — the action operator is a weighted Cayley-graph Laplacian in the Pontryagin dual basis, the derived Gibbs state's unique canonical (modular) flow yields the Schrödinger equation with Hamiltonian equal to the action operator, no continuum limit, zero conjectures consumed, the single non-theorem step one flagged identification; and a Madelung route — physical and mechanism-rich (probability density derived from constraint gaps), valid exactly on the domain of the pseudo-continuity conjecture, with its full premise bill stated (continuity equation, Wallstrom circulation condition, m, V). A dedicated comparison subsection gives the line-by-line premise accounting and the machine-measured agreement region. Complex field selection: ℂ selected over ℝ and ℍ within the GPT comparison class in the covered sectors, with a second independent route from chirality (Frobenius–Schur dichotomy, quaternionic double exclusion); "uniquely selected" expressly not claimed. Positivity as pairing: all five in-text positive-semidefiniteness theorems traced to one mechanism (M = B†B with native factor); the Kraus form and complete positivity derived rather than assumed. The Noether sector on Noether's two theorems exactly: Noether I recovered on the holonomy action (compact Lie realization); Noether II identified as present (Bianchi as horn-filling, Schläfli as its Regge form); selection rules recovered for finite groups; the GNS bridge proved non-vacuously on the full exchange algebra; the sole potential extension — conservation as the kernel of exchange — isolated as a registered conjecture, consumed nowhere. A local–global representation theorem: six generative quantities (closure invariant, flux quantization, Weyl phase, non-abelian Stokes, orientation visibility, terminal normalization) are evaluations of cohomology classes against closed chains — one syntax, six exact machine probes. The gatekeeper no-go theorems registered and discharged: Kochen–Specker (the framework posits no global valuation — outcomes are resolutions of constraint gaps, and basis-relative additivity blocks state-independent variants), Pusey–Barrett–Rudolph (the statistical envelope is over resolutions yet to happen, not values already held; machine witness: identical configuration ensembles with opposite relative phase have opposite statistics), Wallstrom (registered as an explicit input, structurally discharged in the finite-abelian sector), Hegerfeldt (the Lieb–Robinson exponential tail identified as the only claimable front form for the continuum limit), Frauchiger–Renner (cross-agent certainty transfer presupposes kernel-free record transport, exactly what exchange-incompleteness excludes), and no-cloning (inherited in the covered sectors); Conway–Kochen and Colbeck–Renner noted as concordant. Relativity sector Time from finite capacity plus genuine randomness: the staging theorem (Θ(d) dependency depth, unbounded chains via the Moore bound; the quantitative failure law conditionalized on measure-level independence with exact minimal witnesses); the temporal quantum defined combinatorially, no Hamiltonian input. The speed of light grounded in an exact discrete dependency cone (combinatorial, no quantum input), the Lieb–Robinson bound consumed at cross-check grade only; a boost no-go theorem reducing Lorentz invariance to named statistical conditions, with the Collins fine-tuning objection recorded as a gate. The trace-descent theorem group: the growth-history measure forced onto the Mazurkiewicz trace quotient; chain reflection positivity at every depth with completely explicit spectrum. An equation sector of nine verification families (Schrödinger, Dirac, Maxwell/U(1), canonical commutator, Yang–Mills SU(2), Regge calculus, Klein–Gordon, Noether loop, Cartan curvature), where every machine-precision claim is the shadow of a proved backbone lemma — including the factor ½ of H = ½L + V, identified as the Wilson Fourier coefficient fixed by the action theorem. Four experimentally testable predictions, including a discriminating flat-versus-sigmoid visibility protocol. The Standard Model gauge group, ħ, and G remain open, with attack routes registered. How to read Three entry paths are marked in the document. Path A (derivational core): axioms → group structure → Noether sector → least action → Born rule → positivity. Path B (physical mechanisms): constraint propagation → time as determination → wave function as gap envelope → fields. Path C (scope and limits): the Claim Ledger, then Discussion and Open Problems — for the reader who wants to know what is claimed and what is not before reading anything else. The Claim Ledger is the single authoritative register of claim status; wherever body text sounds stronger, the Ledger governs. New in Version 24.0 (Version 23.0 is the immediately preceding public release; this version supersedes the internal V12–V15 and V17–V19 series, whose numbers are not used externally.) Version 24.0 resolves the structure of the multi-cycle non-abelian obstruction — the sector's longest-standing open front — following an external research exchange with three rounds of independent re-verification (fourteen core figures, three commutant instruments implemented independently, exact integer arithmetic on the obstruction side) and two rounds of counter-review that corrected one quantifier on each side: A dichotomy of the multi-cycle obstruction (new remark). Word blindness on multi-cycle networks has two identified sources, jointly covering every tested case, with opposite behaviour as cycle rank grows. Type I (global; graded): a class-preserving outer automorphism yields a commutant element by an argument free of cycle-rank reference; its non-triviality holds at theorem grade for b₁ ≥ d(G) via generating tuples, is monotone in b₁, and the threshold is measured at b_σ = 2 on the tested Wall group (at b₁ = 1 the permutation is the identity — no universal claim is made, and the existence of groups with threshold above 2 is registered open). Type II (local; measured): Out_c trivial but fusion fails on a proper subgroup, the blind pairs sitting in non-generating sectors — the same mechanism that defeats Wilson generation; this blindness heals: on every verified group (A₄, SL(2,3), A₄×ℤ₂) the full commutant collapses to trivial at b₁ = 3 by exact computation on two independently implemented instruments, although word readouts remain blind — the shift primitives separate, above a threshold, and the natural explanation (tuples becoming generating) is refuted by the persistence of blind blocks. Three boundaries at full strength: no exhaustiveness proof (a third source is not excluded); no general healing theorem (the verified groups all heal at 3, cause unidentified); the verified Type II sample is narrow. The quotient proposition restated in stratified form. The operational-equivalence quotient's necessity is now part of the proposition's own statement, in three strata: necessary where Out_c ≠ 1 at every b₁ ≥ b_σ(G), with b_σ ≤ d(G) at theorem grade; one-dimensional at b₁ = 2 on the fusion-type groups (verified cases); trivial at b₁ ≥ 3 on every verified fusion-type group and at every tested b₁ for word-separation-complete groups (a fourteen-group scan of orders ≤ 31 found no third source). Pre-registered validation preceded the restatement: a stratification-exhaustiveness scan (pass), a new-witness search (no new witness in range, downgrade clause applied as pre-registered), and a zero-conflict audit of the three strata against all archived data. The residual open problem is now precisely located. What remains of multi-cycle completeness: the rare Out_c ≠ 1 groups (54 in the exhaustive range through order 96) above their measured thresholds, the low-b₁ fusion stratum, a general healing theorem, and whether a threshold above 2 occurs. The multiplicity-freeness conjecture's mechanism sentence is corrected with the two regimes stated separately (at b₁ = 2 the shifts do not separate — the blind-pair transposition commutes with every primitive, integer-exact — and reduce the commutant to
This paper proposes a theoretical framework—Relational Theory—based on dynamic relational networks, in which discrete spacetime serves as the fundamental ontology, while continuous geometry and gravity emerge as macroscopic statistical phenomena. This framework unifies the description of matter, spacetime, and gravity, aiming to bridge the theoretical divide between quantum field theory and general relativity, while providing a discrete spacetime physical substrate for the orthodox prob abilistic interpretation of quantum mechanics. The fundamental ontology of the universe is defined as the evolution of a dynamic relational network, where nodes represent fundamental quantum units of space, edges correspond to adjacency relations between units, and matter manifests as complex probability amplitude excitation modes propagating on the network. The framework is built upon two foundational axioms: the matter field undergoes unitary evolution driven by the graph Lapla cian operator, and the network topology dynamically reconfigures in response to the matter energy density, with links undergoing continuous generation and decay, while matter evolution exhibits the discrete alternating character of “annihilation here, creation there.”Under the mean-field continuum limit, the two axioms respectively evolve into a Schr¨odinger equation describing matter propagation in curved space and a link density equation characterizing the response of spacetime geometry to matter distribution. These two sets of equations form a self-consistent feedback mechanism in which matter and spacetime geometry mutually constrain each other. The study demonstrates that grav ity is not a fundamental interaction, but rather a statistical emergent entropic force driven by the inhomogeneous spatial distribution of network link density. This paper further proposes a dynamic relational network interpretation, circumventing the collapse paradox of the Copenhagen interpreta tion, the universe-splitting problem of the many-worlds interpretation, and the non-locality dilemma of hidden variable theories. It provides an underlying topological explanation for wave function evo lution, the measurement problem, and the origin of quantum probability. The laws of black hole thermodynamics and the fundamentals of the holographic principle can all be reasonably explained within this microscopic topological framework. The paper systematically verifies the mathematical self-consistency of the model, distinguishes rigorously derived conclusions from conjectures awaiting verification, and demonstrates the feasible pathways for numerical simulation tests and astronomical observational corroboration.
This preprint develops a discrete, fully relational framework in which spacetime structure, classical dynamics, and quantum-like behavior emerge from three minimal principles: relational existence without background manifold, local deterministic update, and finite per-element update capacity. The central organizing primitive is finite update capacity. At each update step, elements can realise only a bounded number of relational changes. Competition among admissible updates induces “blocked realisations,” which are defined micro-ontologically as energy. Proper time is identified with realised record growth. Spatial distance and effective dimension arise from intrinsic graph structure and shell scaling. Under broad locality conditions, marginal frontier stability constrains viable scaling regimes. Requiring compatibility between flux balance and the observed inverse–square law selects an effective three-dimensional scaling regime among integers. Classical force structure emerges from anisotropies in blocked realisation. A statistical layer appears through coarse-graining of deterministic microhistories. Composition and norm stability require unit-modulus complex weights; refinement invariance and classical coherence fix the phase rule θ=ℏ−1∫Edτ, with the same blocking-defined energy that generates intrinsic force. In decohered regimes, quadratic (Born-type) probability scaling follows from additive consistency under random-phase aggregation. The framework is programmatic: it does not yet derive general relativity or quantum field theory from explicit microscopic rule families. However, it establishes structural coherence linking geometry, inertia, inverse–square interaction, phase accumulation, and probabilistic outcomes under a single finite-capacity relational principle. The work also identifies structural empirical constraints, including compatibility between shell scaling and classical force behavior, stability of inertial response, and the possible appearance of capacity-induced high-energy dispersion within the intrinsic causal-cone bound. Explicit construction and simulation of proposal/selection rule families constitute the next stage of investigation.
This framework preserves the empirical success of existing physical theories while proposing an alternative set of foundational assumptions from which their standard formulations emerge as effective limits. Abstract — Key Innovative Points Discrete Updating FabricThe theory postulates a fundamental discrete fabric whose elementary constituents evolve through local update processes, replacing continuous fields and background spacetime as primary entities. Irreversible Local Dynamics as FundamentalUnlike standard approaches based on unitary or reversible evolution, irreversibility is taken as ontological. Physical law emerges from irreversible local updates rather than from imposed symmetries or variational principles. Emergent Time and SpacetimeTime is not assumed as a fundamental parameter but arises from the counting of update events. Spacetime geometry emerges as a coarse-grained description of update activity across the fabric. Quantum Probability from Microstate CountingQuantum probabilities, including the Born rule, emerge from combinatorial counting of compatible microstates of the fabric, rather than being postulated axiomatically. Gravity as Update-Rate ModulationGravitational phenomena are interpreted as variations in local update rates, leading to effective curvature, time dilation, and relativistic behavior at macroscopic scales. Mass as Resistance to UpdateMass and inertia arise from stable topological structures within the fabric that resist updates, providing a dynamical origin of mass without introducing fundamental mass parameters. Fundamental Dissipation and IrreversibilityDissipation is intrinsic to the fabric dynamics and not an emergent statistical effect. The arrow of time follows directly from the irreversible nature of local updates. Extension Beyond Fundamental PhysicsThe same discrete framework accounts for macroscopic dissipative phenomena—such as friction, stick–slip dynamics, superlubricity, growth, and self-organization—linking fundamental physics and material behavior within a single process-based model. iversality Without Fundamental SymmetryLarge-scale physical laws emerge as dynamical attractors of the updating fabric, arising through elimination of unstable configurations rather than enforcement of fundamental symmetries. Emergent Rules Beyond the Born Rule in the Unified Fabric Framework The same discrete-fabric + local-update + coarse-graining structure generates multiple quantum rules without postulation. 1. Schrödinger Dynamics as an Emergent Long-Wavelength Limit Local deterministic updates on a discrete fabric admit spectral modes. In the long-wavelength limit, their evolution converges to a Schrödinger-type equation. No quantum dynamics is postulated.Only update rules and spectral structure are assumed. 2. Superposition from Coarse-Grained Microstate Counting Macroscopic amplitudes arise as sums over compatible microstates.Linearity follows from additive contributions at the amplitude level. Superposition is therefore emergent. It reflects coarse-graining, not a fundamental axiom. 3. Interference as Cross-Terms in Microstate Combinatorics Probabilities are quadratic because amplitudes sum before squaring.Cross-terms correspond exactly to interference effects. Interference is not assumed. It is a combinatorial consequence of microstate superposition. 4. Tensor Product Structure and the Origin of Entanglement Composite systems correspond to composite regions of the fabric.Global microstates factorize only if compatibility constraints separate. Entanglement arises when constraints couple subsystems. It is structural, not mysterious. 5. Decoherence from Phase Inaccessibility Observers access only coarse-grained variables.Rapidly varying microstate phases average out. Off-diagonal terms are dynamically suppressed.Decoherence emerges without postulation. 6. Measurement Collapse as Constraint Reduction Measurement is an interaction that reduces compatible microstates. The effective state updates accordingly. Collapse is not a new law.It is constraint updating under coarse-graining. 7. The Arrow of Time from Asymmetric State Counting Entropy is defined as the logarithm of compatible microstates.Local updates generically move toward larger compatible sets. Irreversibility is structural. It does not rely on subjective ignorance. 8. Coulomb Friction from Discrete Event Statistics Friction equals dissipated update energy per unit distance. The Coulomb law emerges from counting active interfacial events. The friction coefficient is not fundamental. It decomposes into microscopic event parameters. 9. Superlubricity as the Event-Free Limit Superlubricity occurs when locking events are suppressed.Dissipation is rare, not forbidden. This is a limit regime, not an exception. It confirms friction as emergent. 11. Conservation Laws from Update Invariance If the update rule is invariant under local transformations, conserved quantities emerge automatically. Noether’s theorem becomes emergent.Symmetry is a property of the update, not an axiom. 12. Classical Determinism from Phase Averaging At large scales, phase information becomes inaccessible.Only expectation values survive. Classical trajectories emerge statistically.Determinism is an effective limit. 13. Locality from Finite Update Propagation Updates propagate only through neighboring fabric nodes.Information speed is bounded. Causality is structural.Nonlocality is only apparent at coarse scales. 14. Emergent Speed Limit (c) The maximum update rate defines a universal speed. No signal can exceed it. The speed of light is not fundamental. It is a fabric update bound. 15. Metric Geometry from Update Delays Spatial curvature corresponds to spatially varying update rates.Time dilation is an update slowdown. Geometry is dynamical. The metric is emergent. 16. Gravity from Update Resistance Mass corresponds to structures resisting updates.Nearby updates slow down in response. Gravitational attraction emerges. No force field is postulated. 17. Equivalence Principle as a Structural Identity All stable update-resisting structures slow updates identically.Their response is universal. Inertial and gravitational mass coincide.Equivalence is automatic. 18. Quantization from Discrete Spectrum A finite update lattice admits discrete eigenmodes.Energy levels are quantized. Quantization is not imposed.Continuum is an approximation. 19. Noise Spectra (1/f) from Avalanche Dynamics Update cascades produce scale-free event statistics.Long-range correlations appear. 1/f noise is generic. It signals discrete underlying dynamics. 20. Criticality without Tuning The fabric naturally operates near instability thresholds.Small perturbations trigger cascades. Self-organized criticality emerges. No parameter tuning is required. 21. Thermodynamic Laws as Counting Theorems Temperature measures update activity density.Heat is disordered update flow. Thermodynamics is not independent. It is bookkeeping of updates. 22. Growth and Morphogenesis from Update Bias Directional update biases produce structured growth.Forms emerge without templates. Morphogenesis is dynamical.Shape follows update flow. 23. Fine-structure value and other unknow meaning The fine-structure value (~137) corresponds to the effective degeneracyof coherently contributing update configurations in an elementary coupling process.Proton–electron mass ratio the number of internal update cycles required to stabilize a topological vortex (proton), and a simple oscillatory update mode (electron). Mass measures cumulative resistance to updates. Lepton mass hierarchy Different stability thresholds of the same update pattern. Each mass corresponds to a different coherence regime.→ Families are metastable realizations of one structure. Reduced Planck constant Energy × time associated with one elementary update event. → ħ is the discrete unit of updating. Speed of light Maximum update propagation speed across the fabric. → c is the causal limit of the fabric. Bekenstein–Hawking entropy Number of blocked or saturated update configurations at the horizon. → An event horizon is an informational saturation boundary. Universal critical exponents They arise from the topology of update avalanches, independent of microscopic details. → Criticality is a natural fabric regime. Explanations Rarely Given in Existing Theories 1. Why probabilities are quadratic and not cubic or linear Most theories postulate P=∣ψ∣2P=|\psi|^2P=∣ψ∣2.Here it follows from coherent counting plus phase cancellation. The square is not a choice. It is the minimal stable coarse-graining. 2. Why quantum phases are physically unobservable but indispensable Phases affect interference but not outcomes directly. They label micro-configurations, not macrostates. Phase is structural memory.Measurement erases access to it. 3. Why constants are dimensionless and few Only ratios of update counts survive coarse-graining.Dimensional parameters wash out. Dimensionless constants are structural. They encode geometry, not dynamics. 4. Why “free parameters” cluster around simple numbers Many constants are order-one ratios or small inverses. They reflect combinatorial suppression. Fine tuning is apparent. It is state counting in disguise. 5. Why quantum randomness is stable and reproducible Randomness is not noise. It is deterministic micro-dynamics seen through coarse-graining. Statistics are invariant.Details are inaccessible. 6. Why identical particles are truly identical Microstates differ, macrostates do not.Labels are erased by update symmetry. Indistinguishability is enforced. It is not a postulate. 7. Why spin is quantized and half-integer values exist Spin counts topological winding in update cycles.Only discrete windings are stable. Half-integer spin reflects double-cover topology. No mystery remains. 8. Why gauge free
This paper introduces Axiom 0, a minimal foundational principle for physical reality: the impossibility of any globally closed description of the total correlational structure. Rather than postulating space, time, dynamics, locality, or physical laws as primitive, the framework assumes only: (i) the existence of a correlational structure, (ii) the structural impossibility of complete self-closure, and (iii) consistency under partial comparison. From these ingredients, the paper shows how: physical laws emerge as stabilizing regularities of incomplete descriptions, time, dynamics, and geometry arise as effective, regime-dependent structures, irreversibility follows from projection and information loss, and why no description can be both exact and globally complete. Non-closure is treated as an ontological constraint, not as epistemic ignorance or observer dependence. Physical reality exists precisely because complete closure is impossible, independently of observation or modeling. The paper does not attempt to replace existing physical theories or derive numerical constants. Instead, it provides a structural foundation within which effective physical theories (quantum, classical, relativistic, and open-system regimes) can be consistently understood as emergent and domain-limited. This work is intended as a conceptual and structural foundation for correlational and relational approaches to fundamental physics, clarifying the origin of laws, dynamics, and physical regularity without invoking additional ontological postulates.
