Loopback Observation Theory: Orientation Note and Roadmap for the Preprint Series

Abstract

This is an orientation note and roadmap for the Loopback Observation Theory (LOT) preprint series. It is not a research paper and introduces no new formal results or physical predictions. Its role is to help readers approach the available preprints not as isolated mathematical studies, but as successive candidate models within a single research program. At this stage, LOT should be read less as a claim of new formal machinery than as a proposed way of organizing known structures — adjunctions, closure operators, Bayesian updating, classical instruments, relative entropy — around a guiding question that has, as the series developed, acquired two complementary faces: whether an M0-like boundary role connecting state-side and record-side descriptions can be identified across observation models, and how recoverable information is distributed, lost, and preserved, whether by an absolute invariant or only relative to a chosen observation flow. This version (2.0) incorporates the third preprint and notes a fourth preprint in preparation. The document states the scope and explicit non-claims of the series: LOT does not assert that M0 exists as a completed mathematical object, does not solve the quantum measurement problem, does not replace existing theories, and derives no observationally distinguishable predictions at present. The direction described for the work in preparation is offered as a positioning of the question, not as a claim of priority. Related preprints: First preprint (finite-set model): 10.5281/zenodo.20702202; Second preprint (finite-probabilistic / FinStat model): 10.5281/zenodo.20730614; Third preprint (state-changing observation and the decomposition of retrieval loss): 10.5281/zenodo.20968951. AI-assisted: large language model tools (ChatGPT, Claude) were used for drafting, translation, and cross-checking; all claims and final content are the author's responsibility. Both English and Japanese versions of this note are included in the uploaded files. State-Changing Observation and the Decomposition of Retrieval Loss: An Instrument-Based Formulation of Loopback Observation Theory

Masahito Takagi

This preprint extends the finite probabilistic model of Loopback Observation Theory (LOT) from nondisturbing record formation to state-changing observation, as a sequel to the FinStat-style model of probabilistic observation and retrieval hypotheses. A finite pre-observation state space, a finite record space, a finite post-observation state space, and a prior distribution are used to define a state-changing instrument, from which three prior-relative retrieval losses are constructed: from the record alone, from the post-observation state alone, and from both together. The paper does not claim to model the internal structure of the boundary M0, nor does it develop higher observer structures. The nondisturbing model of the preceding paper is recovered as a degenerate case in which the post-observation state coincides with the pre-observation state, and a post-state reset case, in which the post-observation state is independent of the pre-observation state, is identified as the opposite extreme. The joint retrieval loss is decomposed into the initial uncertainty about the pre-observation state, the information carried separately by the record and by the post-observation state, and a co-information interaction term. Under the sign convention adopted here, a positive interaction term indicates redundancy-like overlap, while a negative one indicates synergy-like behavior, in which the record and the post-observation state jointly retrieve more than the sum of their separate contributions. Output-separable instruments, for which the two outputs are conditionally independent given the pre-observation state, are shown to have a nonnegative interaction term and therefore cannot produce synergistic loopback closure. The mathematical components used here are standard: conditional entropy, mutual information, conditional mutual information, and co-information. The contribution of this paper is to organize these structures within the LOT triad of record formation, post-state realization, and retrieval, classifying state-changing instruments by whether pre-state information resides in the record, in the post-observation state, or in the coupling between them. AI-assisted: large language model tools (ChatGPT, Claude) were used for drafting, translation, and cross-checking; all claims and final content are the author's responsibility.

Near-Linear Quantum Transition Modes: A Toy Framework for Quantum Excitation, Tunneling, Local Jacobian Evolution, and Tests of Superluminal Dispersion

Chaman Prakash Kanth

This speculative theoretical note develops a toy framework linking quantum tunneling (QT), quantum excitation (QE), local Jacobian/state-space evolution, and a proposed near-linear QT/QE mode. It derives epsilon_Q = A_Q k_Q, reviews the standard near-threshold tunneling limit kappa -> 0, and shows that coherent QT/QE dynamics can be continuous under Schrodinger evolution. The nonstandard FTL step is isolated as a separate requirement: a physically justified dispersion relation and an operational signaling test. No experimental evidence for faster-than-light signaling is claimed. ChatGPT (OpenAI) assisted with exposition, checking, organization, figures, and document preparation; Chaman Prakash Kanth is the author and is responsible for the final content. Recommended notes field:Version 0.1.0. Speculative research note. This deposit is intended to document the mathematical formulation and priority of a testable hypothesis, not to claim experimental confirmation. Future versions should be deposited as linked Zenodo versions if the equations, numerical tests, or experiments change substantially. AI assistance statement:ChatGPT (OpenAI) was used as a research-writing and mathematical-assistance tool. It helped translate the author's verbal/conceptual ideas into equations, distinguish standard physics from speculative assumptions, check elementary algebra and derivatives, organize the manuscript, and prepare figures and formatting. The central QT/QE near-linearity hypothesis and the decision to publish this speculative framework are attributed to Chaman Prakash Kanth. The author assumes responsibility for the final content. Sarvam AI was also extensively used like Chatgpt.

Parity Observation and Flow-Relative Fixed-Point Capacities: An Observation-Flow Formulation of Loopback Observation Theory

Masahito Takagi

This paper develops an observation-flow formulation of Loopback Observation Theory (LOT), focusing on parity observation and flow-relative fixed-point capacities in finite observation models. The central claim is that a loopback invariant should not be treated as an absolute scalar attached to an observation instrument alone. Rather, it appears only after specifying an observation instrument, a record partition, a preserved relation, an observation flow, and, where relevant, a decoder or retrieval rule. The main example is a three-body odd-parity observation model. In this model, record-only parity characters are degenerate, while a logical-inclusive parity relation can survive independent bit-flip noise. The surviving relation does not by itself determine a capacity: under a synchronized-flip mixing flow the fixed-point capacity vanishes, whereas under an even-flip preserving flow a nonzero binary-channel capacity remains. The paper then generalizes this split to an n-body parity family, where the parity of the record-flip subset classifies whether the relevant relation is preserved or destroyed within the specified flow family. The paper also provides auxiliary classical shadows, numerical no-go observations for simple scalar candidates, and comparisons with nearby work on decohered quantum error-correction dualities, quantum partial information, and reference/pointer distinctions in measurement theory. The contribution is intentionally limited. It is not a new theory of quantum error-correction phase transitions, not a replacement for existing duality frameworks, and not a new quantum PID. Its aim is to formulate, within finite observation models, how fixed-point capacity depends on the chosen observation flow and the relation tested under that flow.

Minimal Effective Action of the Interface Layer Σ in FBS Theory : Observable Finite Sectors and the Connection to a 7×7 Effective Matrix

Yoshihito Ookawa

Description This record contains the revised version of Paper 15 in the Fundamental Being Space (FBS) Theory series. In this revision, the updated contents of Papers 12–14 are reflected, and state formation on the Σ side, state projection to the ordinary-spacetime side, observation-output formation after projection, and the classification of multiple identical projected states are reorganized as distinct stages. The basic relation is organized as follows: internal responses in Σ→ψΣ→ψSi→Xi Here, state projection and observation-output formation are not treated as the same process. The classification of exchange, occupation, and effective projected modes for multiple identical projected states is also positioned as a subsequent stage. On this basis, this paper organizes observability, phase and rotational responses, stabilization and retention, consistency with state projection, and constraint conditions as having distinct roles within the minimal effective action of the interface layer Σ. Furthermore, a finite effective sector is extracted from the broad operator-response structure on the Σ side and connected to a finite-dimensional representation as AΣ→PeffAΣPeff→MΣeff As a specific candidate for this finite-dimensional representation, the 4+3 block structure of a 7×7 response matrix is used. By applying the Schur complement, a general form is shown in which the influence of one finite effective sector remains as a correction to the other effective response through off-diagonal responses. However, the dimension 7 is not regarded as having been newly derived from the minimal effective action or from the selection of the finite effective part. Through this revision, the role of Paper 15 within the FBS Theory research program has also been clarified. The observability structure, spinor-type responses, and classification of multiple identical projected states organized in Papers 12–14 are connected in Paper 15 to the framework of the minimal effective action and finite effective sectors. This provides a bridge to the next stage, Paper 16, where the physical specification of the 7×7 response structure and the connection between quantum-type and gravity-type responses will be examined. This paper does not derive the complete internal structure of Σ, standard quantum mechanics, the Dirac equation, or the spin-statistics relation from first principles. Its purpose is to reorganize the response structures developed in the revised Papers 12–14 under the minimal effective action and to present a finite effective structure that connects to Paper 16.
