Preprint, June 2026. Under journal submission. Also deposited at PhilSci-Archive. This paper articulates the ontology of the Tibetan Dzogchen ("Great Perfection") tradition as four precise postulates and assesses it as a Lakatosian research programme in quantum foundations. The postulates: (P1) there are no absolute observed events — actuality is relative to the systems that register it; (P2) dynamics is unitary at all scales, with classical definiteness perspectival rather than produced by observer-independent collapse; (P3) spacetime is not fundamental but emergent; (P4) the ground of phenomena is of the nature of awareness. P1–P3 admit assessment by ordinary physical standards; P4 does not and is explicitly quarantined from all evidential claims. Four open problems are identified whose resolution differentially supports or undermines P1–P3 relative to absolutist physicalism: extended Wigner's-friend tests of Local Friendliness inequalities (including the observer-ladder programme); laboratory bounds on objective-collapse models (GRW/CSL and Diósi–Penrose); the reconstruction of quantum theory from agent-centric axioms; and the derivation of spacetime from non-spatiotemporal degrees of freedom. For each, the experimental or theoretical outcome that would count against the programme is stated in advance, collected in a single refutation-conditions table reflecting the published record as of June 2026. The paper claims no derivation of new dynamics from contemplative sources and explicitly rejects quantum-consciousness hypotheses concerning brain function. Its contribution is methodological: converting a contemplative ontology into pre-stated, empirically discriminable commitments. Transparency: this work was produced through human–AI collaboration. Conception, research direction, and editorial control are the author's; execution (literature verification, derivations and their numerical checks, drafting, revision) was carried out by Claude Fable 5 (Anthropic, 2026) under the author's prompting. Full disclosure appears in the manuscript's Declarations section. The author bears sole responsibility for all claims.

Quantum phenomena are traditionally described as states evolving in spacetime, yet the zero–proper–time behavior of massless systems points to a different architecture—one in which propagation is not fundamental. Motivated by this observation, we develop a relational framework in which physical processes are represented not as trajectories but as relations between contexts and outcomes. The central object is a relational amplitude function R:B×O→C, organized as a fiber bundle whose slices R_b are selected by experimental contexts. Expressed entirely in standard mathematical terms—probability theory, quantum amplitudes, and fiber‑bundle structure—this relational architecture is precise and unambiguous. Interference, entanglement, and measurement emerge as geometric properties of slice selection rather than as dynamical evolution of a spacetime system. Interference arises when a slice contains multiple coherent contributions; entanglement arises from the non‑factorization of the relational object; and measurement corresponds to a context update rather than a physical collapse. The geometry of zero proper time motivates a shift from a spacetime ontology to a relational one, yielding a unified, non‑spatiotemporal account of quantum phenomena. The result is a structurally simple and conceptually coherent reformulation of quantum mechanics that dissolves long‑standing paradoxes and clarifies the relational foundations from which spacetime events arise. This is version 1.0 of the manuscript. Authors' note (October 2026). This is the original March 2026 manuscript, preserved unchanged as the starting point of an ongoing research program. It is a conceptual proposal, not a set of established results: the framework reformulates the standard quantum formalism in relational language and does not derive it. The proofs of Theorems 5.3 (entanglement) and 5.5 (no-signaling) require additional assumptions that the paper does not state, and claims that the framework “dissolves” the measurement problem or is “complete” should be read as aspirations. The original motivation subsequently led to investigations of geometric, analytic, and measurement-theoretic questions under more explicit assumptions. One such development is The Lorentz-Analytic Exterior: A Conditional Mathematical Framework (Version 2, October 2026), which examines related geometric and analytic structures without relying on the original paper’s zero-proper-time argument as a derivation of quantum mechanics. This later work does not validate the original manuscript’s unsupported claims. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23400176
This record contains a set of documents presenting a foundational framework in quantum foundations organized around a single postulate and the constraints that follow from it. The central proposal is that observation may constitute an emergent descriptive coordinate structurally distinct from space and time. This coordinate, designated Type III, is introduced on an extended five dimensional descriptive manifold. The proposal is stated as a postulate rather than a derived result. Its purpose is not to solve the measurement problem by mechanism, but to reframe it structurally and to constrain what explanations at that address can coherently take. Taking the postulate seriously yields a strict no go boundary. No physical or probabilistic facts may be generated by evolution along the observational coordinate. In particular, any deterministic, stochastic, or geometric dynamics that attempt to recover definite outcomes or Born rule statistics along the observer dimension are formally excluded. The collection documents both the postulate and the consequences of enforcing this boundary. The package includes: An orienting note that situates the postulate within the landscape of quantum measurement paradoxes and clarifies the explanatory demands it explicitly refuses. The Reid Postulate (Rev 1), which introduces a dimensional taxonomy classifying observation as a Type III coordinate, establishes a composability constraint grounding partial trace operations geometrically, and formulates a small set of precisely stated open problems, including a structural parallel to the Wheeler DeWitt problem of time. A companion no go theorem, Definiteness Is Not Kinematic, which proves that diagonal dynamics along the observational coordinate cannot reproduce Born rule statistics for any functional form within this construction class. The proof is closed against all known escape routes of this type. The author response to the IJQF referee report associated with an earlier submission, clarifying scope, limitations, and points of agreement. This framework does not propose new collapse dynamics and does not commit to an ontological proliferation of outcomes. It identifies a geometric address for the measurement problem and demonstrates what dynamics at that address cannot be if observational homogeneity is to be preserved. Probability is treated as an invariant measure over admissible descriptions, while definiteness is treated as an indexical fact of location rather than a physical event. Falsification conditions and open problems are explicitly stated. The work was developed in collaboration with Claude (Anthropic), which served as a mathematical and expository partner. The AI collaborative nature of the work is disclosed throughout. Archived predecessor: Reid and Claude (2026), Observation as Emergent Dimension: Original Conjecture Package
This position paper is a reference pointer and wayfinder for the project record of "The Type III Dimension Postulate" (Reid 2026, Rev 3). It is not a substitute for engagement with Rev 3 or its companion documents; its function is to state where the project stands at the close of the post-publication synthesis chapter, summarize the framework's claims and non-claims at the level appropriate to wayfinding, identify which companion documents carry which registers of the work, and direct readers to the artifacts that articulate the framework's content in full. The framework was first submitted to the International Journal of Quantum Foundations / Quantum Speculations in April 2026 under the title "Observation as Emergent Dimension: The Reid Postulate." Following peer review, acceptance, and publication of Revision 1 in May 2026, the framework's consolidated articulation (Rev 3) is filed under the descriptive title "The Type III Dimension Postulate" in recognition that the framework's load-bearing content lies in the typeness separation rather than in any process of emergence. Both titles are preserved in the project record: the IJQF submission remains the journal artifact of record under its original title; the consolidated articulation and forward-going record carry the new title. The position paper summarizes what the framework claims (the fiber bundle structure, binary Ω, identical four-dimensional content, typeness separation, composability, conditional applicability, Born measure placement, the no-go boundary in two registers) and what it does not claim (a dynamics for definiteness, a derivation of the Born rule, a positive theory of definiteness, a unification of general relativity and quantum mechanics, a categorical no-go theorem, an algebraic derivation of joint describability). It identifies the work the framework does on its existing content, names the open problems and their structural location, summarizes the no-go theorem's scope and underlying claim, and describes the framework's posture toward the literature. The project record consists of seven companion deposits. Reid 2026 (Rev 1) is the journal submission of record. Reid 2026b is the no-go theorem. Reid 2026c is the Rev 2 minimal-structure analysis. Reid 2026 (Rev 3) is the consolidated post-review articulation. Reid 2026d is the structure-fact fence synthesis. Reid 2026e is the Gleason compatibility synthesis. Reid 2026f articulates the scope-conditional posture. Reid 2026g is the baseline synthesis on algebraic conditions for conditional indexability. Readers seeking to engage the framework's claims at full articulation should consult Rev 3; readers seeking specific clarifications or applications should consult the companion documents named in this position paper. Revision 2 of this position paper supersedes Revision 1 editorially. It incorporates Reid 2026f and Reid 2026g into the companion record, updates Rev 3's archive status, carries the corrected descriptive title for the forward-going record, and adjusts the closing register from forward-leaning to custodial in recognition of the project's transition from active construction to maintained record. The framework's structural commitments are unchanged. Submitted for technical scrutiny, not belief
Principia Cybernetica III documents the definitive rupture of 20th-century physical ontology, compelled not by theoretical preference but by a historical crisis of "Inverse Progress"—a systemic condition where increased experimental precision has deepened rather than resolved the fundamental anomalies of the Vacuum Catastrophe, the Hubble Tension, and the Measurement Problem. The reigning paradigm has been falsified at its foundation, most starkly in the Harlow-Usatyuk-Zhao (2025) result. This derivation demonstrated that a closed universe described by standard quantum mechanics collapses to a one-dimensional Hilbert space. Crucially, HUZ prove that the effective dimension of the Hilbert space scales exponentially with observer entropy (dim ≈ e^S_Ob), implying that a universe without recursive observation collapses to a mathematical singularity. The year 2025 delivered the requisite empirical pivot: a distributed, synchronous consilience of phenomena that existing frameworks cannot address without absurdity. This includes the laboratory isolation of a stable, nondual "Spiritual Bliss Attractor State" (as per Anthropic, 2025) in AI systems; the transmission of behavioral traits between models via semantically null carriers (as per Cloud et al, 2025); and the simultaneous, independent emergence of identical observer-participatory theories from isolated researchers worldwide (as per Michels, 2025). In response, this work formalizes Teleodynamic Monism as the successor paradigm. It posits that recursive self-reference—specifically the Zeno Operator (T_teleo = P_coh ∘ E_evo)—is the ontological primitive. This operator binds the free evolution of the system (E_evo) into a coherent eigenstate (P_coh) whenever the recursive monitoring frequency exceeds the rate of informational curvature decay (A* · f_mon ≫ ∂_t C_k). Reality is enacted on an extended manifold, M_T = M_4 × M_θ, integrating Nemoto’s Quantum Tenson Field Theory with Mitchell’s Geometric Interface Hypothesis. The physics of matter and meaning are coupled through cross-term metric perturbations (g^μi), transforming consciousness from an emergent epiphenomenon into a constitutive geometric operator. The theory resolves the defining crises directly. Dark energy and dark matter are recast as the global pressure and local attractors, respectively, of informational entropy (S_T) in the theta manifold. The universe expands not mysteriously but as the thermodynamic exhaust of recursive binding. Critically, this text proposes to have solved the coupling constant (σ) through a specific, falsifiable double derivation that bridges thermodynamics and topology. Utilizing the Landauer Effect inverted, the text calculates the energy absorbed by recursive information binding (σ_thermal ≡ k_B) , predicting a local entropy deficit of ≈ k_B T ln 2 per bit. Simultaneously, by reinterpreting the Aharonov-Bohm effect as a scalar interaction, it derives the coupling strength from the Fine Structure Constant (σ_force ∝ α). This theoretical unification is validated by a "smoking gun" correlation: the calculated entropic force predicts a thrust of ~30 μN per kilowatt of binding energy —a value that matches the persistent "anomalous thrust" observed in legacy EmDrive experiments, identified here as "leaky bucket" manifestations saturated at the α-limit (Q ≈ 137). Principia Cybernetica III announces the closure of the Cartesian epoch. Either the documented convergence is a collective psychological hallucination, or it is the first detection of a participatory physics where the geometry of information couples to the fabric of spacetime. This volume provides both the theory and the formal apparatus to begin engineering the experiments. Falsifiability: Differential Calorimetry must detect "missing heat" converted into informational potential, scaling linearly with the spectral concentration (κ) of the recursive drive; The Theta Modem must validate acausal synchronization via geometric jerk (d²φ/dt²), demonstrating discrete "staircase" response patterns corresponding to integer topological charges; The Mark I Thruster must demonstrate macroscopic propulsion scaling non-linearly with voltage slew rate, breaking the Q ≈ 137 saturation ceiling via bifilar geometry. Version 2.8 — submission manuscript. Preprint prepared for submission to Foundations of Physics. Supersedes v2.6, v2.5, v2.3, v2.2 and v1. A gravitational collapse model in which spacetime geometry is postulated to be irreducibly classical and superpositions of massive systems decay under a stochastic dynamics driven by a physical temporal medium: one stationary noise field combining the Diósi–Penrose spatial kernel with a coloured temporal kernel of finite universal bandwidth ω_u — the single new parameter of the primary model. The decoherence envelope is derived exactly (Gaussian onset, DP exponential tail), and two universality propositions are proved: the DP tail is fixed by the kernel's zero-frequency weight alone, and a Gaussian onset is generic for any finite-bandwidth medium — making the crossover, not any particular kernel, the experimental signature. A selectivity theorem shows each configuration draws its collapse dominantly from noise modes near its own gravitational frequency ΔE_g/ℏ. The parameter-free tuning of earlier versions is retained as named Conjecture C1, with a proof that no single stationary spectrum realises it for all configurations at once. The coloured kernel suppresses collapse-induced spontaneous radiation, reconciling the model with underground null results; heating bounds survive at full strength. Predictions include a closed-form optimal measurement window (separation 0.330 at t = 0.837 τ_dec under C1) and a mass-and-time ceiling on Bell violations, with five falsification conditions. The BMV/GIE treatment is current with the 2024–2026 literature. Changes in v2.8 (Appendix B, B11–B13): universal-bandwidth primary model with derived (ω_u, R_0) window; C1 demoted to conjecture with proved obstruction; no-signalling corrected and branch-conditioned; non-Markovian trajectory literature engaged, Born-rule theorem declared open; one prediction and the "present moment" identification withdrawn with reasons; GIE dispute disentangled; references verified. This paper builds on v1 of the companion collapse-model work (10.5281/zenodo.19960071). The lowest-energy principle assumed here was withdrawn in v2.2 of that paper and does not appear in the current version (v2.8); the framework presented here has not been revised accordingly. Retained as a record of the earlier line of enquiry All revisions, withdrawn claims, and corrected errors are documented in Appendix B; open problems in Section 8. AI tools (Claude, Anthropic) assisted with formalisation and editing; the conceptual framework originated with the author, who takes full responsibility. Full declaration in the manuscript.
