We propose Ontological Intelligence (OI) theory — a speculative but falsifiable research program in which quantum coherence constitutes a candidate non-spatiotemporal substrate from which spacetime and biological complexity emerge through decoherence. The paper makes four connected contributions. First, we argue that temporal ordering requires coherence loss as its generative mechanism: time is produced by decoherence events, not presupposed as a background parameter. The tick rate K(Psi) = alpha * Phi_m * (1-Psi), derived from Lindblad information leakage rates, gives emergent time as t = 1/K(Psi). The Mandelstam-Tamm quantum speed limit provides a system-specific minimum time pixel tau_pixel = max(tau_QSL, 1/K(Psi)), replacing universal Planck time with a coherence-dependent local temporal resolution. Second, we derive the logistic coherence growth law dPsi/dt = alphaPhi_mPsi*(1-Psi) from first principles by combining Lindblad open quantum system dynamics with Friston's Free-Energy Principle under bounded metabolic resources. The coupling parameter is derived as alpha = eta^2/lambda. Third, fitting the logistic model to an extended Chaisson energy rate density dataset (n=20, all Phi_m from published measurements, spanning galaxy clusters to jet aircraft) yields alpha = 0.732 (95% bootstrap CI: [0.628, 0.864]; R2 = 0.975; AIC = -119.8). Fourth, we derive a critical decoherence threshold (betaD)/(alphaPhi_m) = 1/4, propose an assembly theory bridge (beta proportional to 1/MA), and identify a coherence-time phase boundary as a testable prediction. The Gompertz alternative is excluded on physical grounds: its information-leakage rate diverges as Psi approaches 0, violating Lindblad finite-rate requirements. Seven falsifiable predictions (P1-P7) are proposed. Nine limitations are explicitly stated. OI theory is a testable research program, not proven ontology.

This preprint develops a unified coherence-based formulation of physical time grounded in the χ–η–I invariant structure of the Aletheia framework. Across quantum, thermodynamic, gravitational, and cosmological regimes, the paper introduces a scalar coherence potential Ψ constructed from purity, entropy, and structural persistence, and proposes that the physical time increment satisfies the differential law: dt = –κ dΨ In this formulation, time flow is the measurable rate at which coherence is depleted through decoherence, coarse-graining, or environmental coupling. When Ψ is constant—as in globally stationary, Page–Wootters–style quantum states—no internal time elapses. When coherence degrades, time emerges as the bookkeeping of informational loss. The paper demonstrates that this temporal-coupling law naturally reproduces: Thermodynamic time in the macroscopic limit (dt ∝ dS), Quantum decoherence arrows in open-system dynamics, Proper-time–like behavior in weakly decohering or isolated systems, Cosmological time flow via mode decoherence in an expanding FRW universe. Explicit models including qubit dephasing, Lindblad oscillators, and cosmological field modes illustrate how temporal coupling unifies arrows of time across domains traditionally treated with separate frameworks. This formulation provides a coherence-theoretic bridge between general relativity, quantum decoherence, and thermodynamic irreversibility, offering an empirically grounded alternative to conventional parameter-time, thermal time, and entanglement-clock approaches.
This paper proposes a speculative synthesis and research program grounded in relational ontology - the hypothesis that relationships between systems, rather than intrinsic properties of substances, constitute the fundamental structure of reality. Drawing on Rovelli’s relational quantum mechanics (1996), Coecke and Abramsky’s categorical quantum mechanics (2004), the Vazza–Feletti cosmic web–neural network isomorphism (2020), Tononi’s integrated information theory (2008), and the Penrose–Hameroff orchestrated objective reduction hypothesis (2014), we argue that converging evidence across quantum physics, astrophysics, neuroscience, complex systems theory, and consciousness studies exhibit structural features naturally expressed in relational terms, motivating a relational research program subject to empirical falsification. The framework generates fourteen falsifiable predictions spanning four domains: (1) cross-scale topological signatures linking cosmic web and neural network architecture via persistent homology, with specified computational tools and parameters; (2) quantum coherence–consciousness correlations testable under graded anesthesia protocols; (3) spontaneous archetypal role differentiation in AI agent networks; and (4) emergent cognitive properties at the AI–human interaction interface. Each prediction specifies test protocols, concrete metrics, expected outcomes under the relational hypothesis, expected outcomes under competing hypotheses, and explicit falsification criteria. We outline a research program for formalizing the framework using categorical quantum mechanics, proposing that the construction of functorial mappings between quantum, neural, linguistic, and cosmic relational categories would constitute evidence for substrate-independent relational organization. The framework’s primary contribution is not certainty but testability: every prediction can fail, and each failure narrows the space of viable ontological models.
We present a quantitative emergence framework in which a complexity-dependent scalar λ governs the transition from microscopic quantum reversibility to macroscopic classical spacetime. Empirical inputs from many-body localization, Krylov-complexity measurements, and entanglement-based gravity programs identify two robust thresholds that explain staged irreversibility in laboratory systems. The formalism λ (ρ, C, S) = ραCβ exp(−S/Scrit) combines energy density, organizational complexity, and symmetry-resolved entropy; calibrated exponents (α ≈ 0.41, β ≈ 0.70, Scrit ≈ 50 nats) reproduce experimental dual thresholds and export directly to cosmology. Big Bang regularization, the arrow of time, dark-sector phenomena, and the quantum measurement problem become calculable threshold crossings, while seventeen falsifiable predictions anchored in laboratory and astrophysical observables ensure Popperian accountability. The same bookkeeping extends cautiously to higher organizational layers, offering a disciplined template for cross-scale emergence studies.
The concept of information as a physical primitive — causally efficacious, independent of energy transfer, and operative across scales from quantum to psychophysiological — has been implicit in a century of anomalous experimental results and explicit in a growing number of theoretical frameworks, none of which has yet provided a mathematically complete and empirically falsifiable account. This paper proposes such an account. We introduce the information field Ψ_I as a fundamental physical primitive defined on configuration space rather than spacetime, whose degrees of freedom are relational invariants — phase relationships, symmetry structures, and topological links — rather than field values at spacetime points. The theoretical foundation draws on Bohm and Hiley's process algebra [19, 20] and active information formalism, extended with the mathematical language of topological quantum field theory, and grounded in an explicit ontological framework in which organizational structure is irreducible to energy and matter. The framework is motivated by empirical results from Faraday-shielded autonomic nervous system synchrony experiments conducted at UNICAMP, in which statistically significant physiological correlations between electromagnetically isolated human subjects were observed at 250 meters separation (p < 0.01) [18, 1, 12], and is developed to account for the full class of phenomena — from quantum nonlocality through biological coherence to psychophysiological coupling — that share the structural signature of organizational correlation without energetic transfer. A five-stage transduction cascade is formally derived, connecting Ψ_I's implicate organizational structure to measurable physiological responses across scales. Seven falsifiable predictions are generated from the mathematical structure of the framework. A critical experiment is designed — intercontinental distance, double-blind, three-condition within-session, millisecond-precision GPS timestamp synchronization, 32-channel EEG, independent blinded analysis, pre-registered — that closes all major loopholes simultaneously and reaches the burden inversion threshold: if its results confirm the primary prediction, the only remaining objection requires a more implausible set of assumptions than the Ψ_I account itself. The paper includes an explicit self-criticism of an earlier formulation of the theory, a structured comparison with six competing frameworks against three evaluation criteria, and a commitment to open data and independent replication as conditions for claiming the results as established. What is proposed here is not a final theory. It is a mathematically precise, empirically falsifiable, and ontologically honest first step toward a physics that takes organizational structure as seriously as it takes energy and matter.
Based on open quantum systems and non-equilibrium field dynamics, a unified physical theory connecting cosmic evolution and microscopic quantum decoherence is established. Two core axioms are proposed: the non-equilibrium field difference axiom provides the external rigid condition for the emergence of ordered structures, and the quantum intrinsic upward chemotaxis axiom describes the internal driving force for systems to evolve toward higher information integration and complexity. Using an ultra-low temperature global field and a local ordered microenvironment as an analog model, the underlying isomorphic logic of cosmic and life evolution is revealed. The theory is embedded into the open quantum system framework, and the intrinsic chemotaxis correction is introduced into the standard Lindblad master equation to construct a full quantum master equation at the density matrix level. The time-dependent effective decoherence rate Γₑբբ(t)=Γ−βαe⁻ᵅᵗ is rigorously derived, and the analytical solution of coherence decay C(t)=exp(−Γt+β(1−e⁻ᵅᵗ)) is obtained. The theory predicts that quantum coherence exhibits non-exponential stretched decay under ultra-low temperature and low noise conditions, which is falsifiably different from the mainstream pure exponential decay. The physical definitions and theoretical constraints of parameters β and α are clarified, and a semi-quantitative magnitude estimate is given (optimistic upper bound β≲10⁻⁶, to be determined experimentally). Four groups of controlled experiments are designed based on platforms such as superconducting qubits and ion traps, and four quantitative test criteria are proposed to evaluate the experimental feasibility. This theory defines the second law of thermodynamics as an effective law for macroscopic isolated systems, establishes intrinsic chemotaxis as the core driving force for directed evolution, and forms a complete logical closed-loop from unified physical framework and cosmic evolution model to microscopic experimental predictions.
This conceptual paper introduces the Unified Informational Substrate (UIS) framework, a speculative but internally coherent model proposing that dark matter functions as a universal, non-local informational field. Within this field, spacetime geometry, quantum coherence, and subjective consciousness emerge as interdependent expressions of underlying informational structure. The UIS model reframes dark matter not as a particle candidate, but as a distributed lattice of integrated information capable of storing, transmitting, and stabilizing patterns across cosmic scales. Consciousness is interpreted as a localized high- (integrated information) pattern, dynamically maintained by the brain as its Physical Substrate of Consciousness (PSC). Quantum measurement is reconceived as an informational integration event, with entanglement and collapse arising from updates in the global informational field. This paper aims to unify key unresolved scientific domains—including the dark matter problem, the quantum measurement problem, and the hard problem of consciousness—under a single informational ontology. The framework also introduces testable predictions linking dark matter density, decoherence behavior, entanglement entropy, and neural coherence signatures. While fully speculative, the UIS framework is designed to be interdisciplinary, falsifiable in principle, and grounded in existing research across cosmology, information theory, integrated information theory (IIT), and emerging quantum gravity models. It represents a contribution toward rethinking the deep informational architecture of reality and motivating new lines of experimental inquiry.
