Quantum-Safe Federated Learning: Enhancing Data Privacy and Security

E. Kannan, Carmel Mary Belinda M J, S Ravikumar +3 more

Ensuring data security and privacy is highly pertinent in today’s era marked by the dominance of collaborative machine learning. This study presents a novel framework, named" Quantum-Resilient Privacy-Preserving Federated Learning for Enhanced Data Security," which leverages quantum computing to strengthen federated learning models against adversarial risks and enhance privacy safeguards. Our research investigates the incorporation of quantum key distribution and entanglement protocols into federated learning, therefore establishing a quantum- resilient methodology. The findings demonstrate the model’s ability to effectively resist advanced threats, hence assuring the maintenance of strong data security measures. The utilization of quantum technology in this context serves to strengthen the fundamental principles of cryptography, while simultaneously introducing a novel approach to enhancing privacy. Moreover, the study explores the potential of the framework to accommodate various datasets from different cooperating entities, while also resolving the difficulties presented by the diversity of the data. The framework’s success in accommodating multiple machine learning models and applications is demonstrated by evaluations of scalability and computing efficiency. In essence, the research paper titled" Quantum-Resilient Privacy-Preserving Federated Learning for Enhanced Data Security" represents a significant progression in the field of safeguarding collaborative machine learning. The quantum-resilient paradigm not only increases privacy but also offers a safe foundation for the future of collaborative machine learning. The issue at hand pertains to the growing apprehensions over the safeguarding of data privacy and security within the context of our technologically advanced day.

203Chapter 8 Quantum computing and blind computing for secure futuristic networks

Arnav Dua, Vinay Aseri, Khadija Slimani +2 more

Rapid technological evolution, coupled with ever-increasing dependency on digital infrastructure, has raised challenges for securing the future of networks that are unprecedented in their dimensions. While quantum computing quantum computing is lurking around the corner, traditional security mechanisms become increasingly vulnerable to sophisticated cyberattacks. Quantum computing is a two-edged sword; it could revolutionize computing by solving problems way beyond the capabilities of classical computers, but at the same time, it is threatening because it could break current cryptographic systems. In order to avoid this risk, quantum-safe cryptography cryptography and innovative paradigms like blind computing have emerged as promising solutions. Blind computing blind computing has been a key privacy privacy -preserving approach, whereby data content is not disclosed even while it is being processed; it keeps data confidential even across hostile environments. The integration of quantum computing and blind computing opens up new horizons in network network security through the secure transmission of data, protection of privacy, and building resilience against cyber threats in the future. The chapter will present the basic elements of quantum computing, blind computing, and their combinations, enabling the development of secure quantum-resistant networks and protocols in order to ensure information assurance in a quantum world. It identifies use cases and industrial applications of those current threats and associated countermeasures and gives pointers for future research on these problems with relation to the so-called post quantum post quantum scenario. By addressing these critical advancements, the chapter aims to provide insights into 204 how to create secure and privacy-focused networks that will stand tall against the challenges of the digital landscape of tomorrow.

79Chapter 4 Quantum secrets: safeguarding privacy in computational protocols

Parul Gandhi, Ms. Priyanka Sharma, Aastha Budhiraja +1 more

Quantum computing’s potential to upend established cryptographic systems as it develops seriously threatens data security and privacy. With an emphasis on creating cryptographic systems resistant to quantum adversaries, “Quantum secrets: Safeguarding privacy in computational protocols” investigates the relationship between safe computing and quantum physics. This study looks into privacy-preserving quantum algorithms that use concepts like superposition and entanglement to improve security and quantum-safe encryption methods like lattice-based cryptography and quantum key distribution. This research attempts to connect theoretical developments with real-world implementations to give a thorough picture of the developing field of quantum-secure technology. Although quantum computing has the potential to completely transform computing power, privacy and data security are also seriously threatened. Once thought to be impenetrable, classical cryptographic techniques are now susceptible to quantum algorithms like Shor’s and Grover’s, which calls for a paradigm change in how sensitive data is protected. We also discuss recent developments in quantum homomorphic encryption and how they affect safe multi-party computation. In order to ensure privacy and security in the age of quantum supremacy, this article presents a path for incorporating quantum resilience into computing protocols by addressing the theoretical and practical elements of these quantum technologies. In a quantum environment, this study explores quantum cryptographic approaches such secure multi-party computation, post-quantum cryptography, and quantum key distribution. Through establishing a connection between quantum theory and real-world privacy applications, this research attempts to offer a thorough summary of new approaches to protecting private data in the quantum age.
