Abstract

Optimization problems that are computationally intractable can be tackled with the help of AI and quantum computing. Standard optimization techniques are ill-equipped to deal with high-dimensional search spaces and non-linear constraints in domains such as logistics, finance, energy management, pharmaceutical research, and large-scale industrial scheduling. Using quantum computing with AI-driven learning, this research presents a hybrid optimization strategy that enhances the efficiency and accuracy of problem-solving. Adaptive optimization, parameter changes, and pattern discovery are all part of machine learning models, whereas quantum annealing and variational quantum eigen solvers simultaneously explore massive solution spaces. The proposed method uses quantum probabilistic computation and heuristic refining based on AI to reduce computational complexity and speed up the convergence of global optimums. While quantum computers optimize computationally expensively at the quantum-classical interface, deep learning models preprocess and extract features. Compared to metaheuristics, simulation-based performance analysis improves both the quality of solutions and the speed of convergence. The study demonstrated that AI frameworks boosted with quantum computing may solve combinatorial optimization problems and NP-hard problems. Using a computational paradigm that is both scalable and future-proof, this work reimagines optimization in the scientific, industrial, and engineering spheres.

Quantum Machine Learning Approaches for Complex Optimization in Smart Computing Systems

Khaldun Pichlerová

Quantum Machine Learning (QML) has emerged as a transformative paradigm that integrates the computational advantages of quantum computing with the adaptive intelligence of machine learning to solve complex optimization problems in smart computing systems. Traditional optimization techniques often struggle with high-dimensional search spaces, combinatorial complexity, computational overhead, and scalability limitations in applications such as intelligent transportation, healthcare analytics, smart manufacturing, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructures. QML approaches exploit quantum superposition, entanglement, and quantum parallelism to accelerate optimization tasks and enhance predictive performance beyond classical machine learning capabilities. This research proposes a hybrid Quantum Machine Learning optimization framework that combines Variational Quantum Circuits (VQCs), Quantum Neural Networks (QNNs), and classical deep learning models to address resource allocation, task scheduling, energy optimization, and intelligent decision-making in smart computing environments. The proposed framework integrates quantum-enhanced feature extraction, adaptive optimization layers, and reinforcement-based learning mechanisms to improve convergence speed and computational efficiency. Experimental analysis is performed using benchmark optimization datasets and simulated quantum environments to evaluate accuracy, execution time, energy efficiency, and scalability. Comparative results demonstrate that the proposed QML-based framework achieves superior optimization accuracy, reduced computational latency, and improved resource utilization when compared with traditional machine learning and classical metaheuristic optimization methods. Furthermore, the study highlights the practical significance of hybrid quantum-classical architectures in next-generation intelligent systems where large-scale optimization and real-time decision support are critical. The findings suggest that QML can significantly contribute to the advancement of sustainable, adaptive, and high-performance smart computing ecosystems while opening new directions for future quantum-aware intelligent infrastructures.

Role of Quantum Computing in Solving Optimization Problems in Artificial Intelligence

Yuri Alexeev, Tanbir Hasan Taz, Mohammad Zobair Hossain

Quantum computing, leveraging quantum mechanics, promises to enhance optimization processes in artificial intelligence (AI) by addressing challenges faced by classical computing in solving complex problems. This study investigates the role of quantum computing in optimizing AI tasks, focusing on algorithms such as Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) and Quantum Annealing (QA) for improved efficiency in optimization. A hybrid quantum-classical approach was used to evaluate the performance of quantum algorithms in optimization tasks, including combinatorial optimization and machine learning model tuning. QAOA and QA were applied to benchmark problems, such as Max-Cut and Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). The study involved a comparative analysis between quantum algorithms and classical optimization techniques using performance metrics like solution quality, computational time, and scalability. Data were gathered through simulation on a quantum computing platform, and results were analyzed using statistical methods to assess improvements. The results showed that quantum computing significantly outperformed classical methods in solving large-scale optimization problems. QAOA demonstrated a 30% improvement in solution quality for Max-Cut problems, and QA showed a 25% faster convergence in TSP compared to classical algorithms. Quantum algorithms demonstrated scalability advantages as the problem size increased, with quantum methods achieving up to a 40% reduction in computational time for large instances. Furthermore, 70% of the tested cases showed significant improvements in solution accuracy, confirming the potential of quantum computing in real-world AI applications. Quantum computing, through QAOA and QA, offers substantial improvements in solving complex optimization problems in AI, presenting a transformative opportunity for the future of optimization algorithms.
