Enhanced tripartite magnon-phonon entanglement via orbital angular momentum exchange

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a scheme to prepare macroscopic tripartite magnon-phonon entanglement via orbital angular momentum (OAM) exchange. By placing two magnons into a cascade rotational cavity optomechanical system, we explore that the optimal tripartite magnon-phonon entanglement is achievable when one magnon mode is tuned to be resonant with the red sideband while the other one with the blue sideband in cavity-magnon dispersive regimes. On the other hand, it is found that the scheme for generating bipartite magnon-magnon entanglement is distinct from tripartite entanglement, wherein the entanglement is initially prepared between the cavity modes and then transferred to magnon modes when cavity-magnon resonant conditions are satisfied. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the tripartite and bipartite entanglements are optimal by taking moderate coupling strengths. The present scheme provides a method to obtain genuine multipartite entanglement, which may find potential applications for constructing a macroscopic quantum network.

Generation of multipartite entanglement in a cavity-magnomechanical system

Zhen Yang, Biao Xiong, Cheng-song Zhao +1 more

Generating multipartite entanglement is always a popular research field in quantum information processing and quantum optics. In this paper, we propose a scheme to realize all bipartite entanglements and the genuine tripartite entanglement among photon, magnon, and phonon modes in a cavity-magnomechanical system. The center-of-mass motion of a yttrium iron garnet sphere couples to the magnon and constitutes photon-magnon-phonon tripartite interaction. By modulating the detuning between the cavity (magnon) mode and the driven field, we can obtain the optimal photon-phonon entanglement or magnon-phonon entanglement. The genuine tripartite entanglement can be prepared through a suitable detuning. We compare the different entanglement cases with and without effective direct cavity-magnon coupling. The results indicate that the photon-magnon entanglement can be enhanced by the effective cavity-magnon coupling strength, and all bipartite entanglements show greater robustness against the thermal phonon number. This investigation should be useful for phonon-involved multipartite quantum information processing and quantum precision measurement.

Tripartite entanglement in a Laguerre–Gaussian rotational-cavity system with an yttrium iron garnet sphere

Hao-Jie Cheng, Shu-Jie Zhou, Jia‐Xin Peng +4 more

We propose a scheme that can realize the tripartite entanglement between the Laguerre–Gaussian (L–G) cavity mode, magnon mode, and phonon (rotating) mode in a hybrid rotating cavity optomechanical system with an yttrium iron garnet sphere inside the cavity. The excited magnon mode and the L–G cavity mode are related through the magnetic dipole interaction, and the L–G cavity mode can exchange orbital angular momentum (OAM) with the rotating mirror. In this way, the magnon mode and the rotating mirror are connected through the L–G cavity mode. Our results show that physical parameters such as OAM of the L–G cavity mode, detuning of the magnon mode, and effective detuning of the cavity mode play different roles in establishing entanglements.

Nonreciprocal bipartite and tripartite entanglement in cavity-magnon optomechanics via the Barnett effect

Ping-Chi Ge, Yikyung Yu, Hao Wu +3 more

We theoretically propose a scheme for generating nonreciprocal macroscopic bipartite and tripartite entanglement using the Barnett effect in cavity-magnon optomechanics. The system consists of an optomechanical cavity and a rotatable yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere. Our results indicate that under appropriate parameter conditions, both bipartite entanglement and genuine tripartite entanglement can be generated between the cavity mode, mechanical mode, and magnon mode. Moreover, when the YIG sphere rotates, adjusting the magnetic field direction can induce a positive or negative Barnett shift, which leads to the nonreciprocity of entanglement, where entanglement exists in one chosen magnetic field direction and disappears in the other. Meanwhile, the macroscopic tripartite entanglement in the system is robust against thermal noise. Our work provides a possible avenue for quantum information processing, quantum chiral device integration, and multi-node quantum networks construction.

Entanglement and quantum coherence of two YIG spheres in a hybrid Laguerre–Gaussian cavity optomechanics

Abdelkader Hidki, Jia‐Xin Peng, S. K. Singh +2 more

We theoretically investigate continuous variable entanglement and macroscopic quantum coherence in the hybrid L-G rotational cavity optomechanical system containing two YIG spheres. In this system, a single L-G cavity mode and both magnon modes (which are due to the collective excitation of spins in two YIG spheres) are coupled through the magnetic dipole interaction whereas the L-G cavity mode can also exchange orbital angular momentum (OAM) with the rotating mirror (RM). We study in detail the effects of various physical parameters like cavity and both magnon detunings, environment temperature, optorotational and magnon coupling strengths on the bipartite entanglement and the macroscopic quantum coherence as well. We also explore parameter regimes to achieve maximum values for both of these quantum correlations. We also observed that the parameters regime for achieving maximum bipartite entanglement is completely different from macroscopic quantum coherence. So, our present study shall provide a method to control various nonclassical quantum correlations of macroscopic objects in the hybrid L-G rotational cavity optomechanical system and have potential applications in quantum sensing, quantum meteorology, and quantum information science.

Magnon-Photon-Phonon Entanglement in Cavity Magnomechanics

Jie Li, Shi‐Yao Zhu, G. S. Agarwal

We show how to generate tripartite entanglement in a cavity magnomechanical system which consists of magnons, cavity microwave photons, and phonons. The magnons are embodied by a collective motion of a large number of spins in a macroscopic ferrimagnet, and are driven directly by an electromagnetic field. The cavity photons and magnons are coupled via magnetic dipole interaction, and the magnons and phonons are coupled via magnetostrictive (radiation pressurelike) interaction. We show optimal parameter regimes for achieving the tripartite entanglement where magnons, cavity photons, and phonons are entangled with each other, and we further prove that the steady state of the system is a genuinely tripartite entangled state. The entanglement is robust against temperature. Our results indicate that cavity magnomechanical systems could provide a promising platform for the study of macroscopic quantum phenomena.

Nonreciprocal macroscopic tripartite entanglement in atom-optomagnomechanical system

Qianjun Zheng, Wenxue Zhong, Guangling Cheng +1 more

Abstract We investigate how to generate the nonreciprocal macroscopic tripartite entanglement among the atomic ensemble, ferrimagnetic magnon and mechanical oscillator in a hybrid atom-optomagnomechanical system, where an ensemble of two-level atoms and a yttrium iron garnet micro-bridge supporting the magnon and mechanical modes are placed in a spinning optical resonator driven by a laser field. The phonon being the quantum of the mechanical mode interacts with the magnon and the optical photon via magnetostriction and radiation pressure, respectively, and meanwhile the photon couples to the atomic ensemble. The results show that not only all bipartite entanglements but also the genuine tripartite entanglement among the atomic ensemble, magnon and phonon could be generated at the steady state. Moreover, the nonreciprocity of atom-magnon-phonon entanglement can be obtained with the aid of the optical Sagnac effect by spinning the resonator, in which the entanglement is present in a chosen driving direction but disappears in the other direction. The nonreciprocal macroscopic tripartite entanglement is robust against temperature and could be flexibly controlled by choosing the system parameters. Our work enriches the study of macroscopic multipartite quantum states, which may have potential applications in the development of quantum information storage and the construction of multi-node chiral quantum network.
