Abstract

This work constitutes the systematic and rigorous extension of the entire framework of Meta Operational Mathematics to the domain of quantum operations and their compositional inverses.Quantum mechanics, as the fundamental theory of nature at the microscopic scale, provides a uniquely rich testing ground for the meta-operational philosophy: operations that act upon quantum states—such as completely positive trace-preserving (CPTP) maps, quantum measurements, quantum instruments, and unitary evolutions—can themselves be operated upon, composed, iterated, added, multiplied, differentiated, exponentiated, logarithmized, and subjected to algebraic, analytic, and geometric transformations. We establish a complete four-level hierarchical framework tailored specifically to quantum theory: Level 0 consists of density matrices (quantum states) as elements of the base space F =Tsa(H); Level 1 consists of quantum operations as smooth mappings on F; Level 2 consists of quantum meta-operations as smooth mappings on quantum operations; and Level 3 consists of meta-meta-operations acting upon meta-operations. Within this framework, every fundamental operation of quantum mechanics is canonically lifted to a meta-operation, and the interactions among these meta-operations—through composition, pointwise addition, pointwise multiplication, differentiation, quantum randomization, exponentiation, and logarithm—generate the entire quantum operad QOp in its bornological closure.A fundamental distinction from the hyperbolic, elliptic, Gamma, Beta, Zeta, and probabilistic cases is rigorously established. In quantum theory, the base space F = Tsa(H) is not a subset of the complex plane but a non-commutative Banach space of trace-class self-adjoint operators. The compositional inverse of a quantum channel is not merely a formal inverse but the quantum error correction recovery map, which embodies the fundamental duality between CPTP maps and their Stinespring dilations. The complementary channel operation—corresponding to the environmental output of a Stinespring dilation—satisfies a twisted antipode axiom in the Hopf operad structure, reflecting the irreversible accumulation of information leaked to the environment. The completely positive constraint endows the quantum operad with a non-trivial boundary structure absent in all other cases. The eight fundamental meta-operations generating the entire quantum operad are: composition, pointwise addition, pointwise multiplication, differentiation, quantum randomization, the identity operation, the quantum channel evaluation operation, and the quantum measurement operation. Their irreducibility is proved through a careful analysis of the dependence structure of each generator on the remaining seven, using the Stinespring dilation theorem, the uniqueness of Kraus representations, and the Choi-Jamiołkowski isomorphism for complete positivity. The three essential features of quantum theory—positivity and complete positivity, complementarity and uncertainty relations, and entanglement and inseparability—are systematically elevated to the meta-operational level as algebraic axioms, analytic tools, and geometric objects, constructing a self-contained Quantum Meta-Operational Mathematics. All conjectures and open problems originally stated within this research program have either been resolved as theorems within the body of this work or are precisely formulated as remaining open problems with partial progress rigorously indicated.

Operational Mathematics of Quantum Operations: Extending the Iteration Count of CPTP Maps and their Inverses to the Complex Domain

Liu S

This paper systematically transplants the core methodology of Operational Mathematics—the extension of the repetition count of fundamental operations from natural numbers to integers, rationals, reals, and ultimately complex numbers—onto a new class of binary operations: the quantum operation ΦEn(ρ,z) (a completely positive trace-preserving map, i.e. a quantum channel) and its inverse ΦE−1n (ρ,z) (the operational principal branch of the inverse channel). Acomplete set of seven independent axioms is established; integer-order, fractional-order,real-order, and complex-order quantum iterations are rigorously defined; and the existence of iterative roots at each level is proved by means of Schröder’s equation, Abel’s equation, and a suitably adapted Kneser construction. Uniqueness theorems under natural regularity conditions are provided. The singularity structure of complex-order quantum iterations is analysed in depth, revealing a fundamentally novel phenomenon: the branch points are of mixed superoperator valued algebraic (square-root type, from the degeneracy of Kraus operators) and logarithmic type (from the zeros of contractive eigenvalues of the channel). Three families of branch points are identified and their overlaps are discussed. The union of branch cuts accumulates densely on the negative real axis, forming a natural boundary. The local monodromy group contains both Z2 and Z factors.A fundamental structural discovery is rigorously proved: the quantum operational hierarchy collapses completely for all levels n ≥ 2, leaving only the base channel at level n = 1 and the collapsed iteration semigroup at level n = 2.Fractional calculus and the fractional calculus of variations with quantum kernels are shown to be special cases of the quantum operational framework, thereby unifying discrete quantum hyperoperations with continuous analysis.Acategorical duality between the mathematics of numbers and the mathematics of quantum operations is established, yielding a field isomorphism between the quantum hyperfield and the complex numbers. A functorial relationship reflecting complementarity of quantum channels is constructed. The connection between quantum iteration values and the arithmetic of the channel spectrum is explored, with particular emphasis on transcendence of special values and the Quantum Riemann Hypothesis, which is proved unconditionally via a Hilbert–Pólya self adjoint operator construction applied to the corrected quantum zeta function (defined using backward iterates, with a careful resolution of non-commutativity issues). The corrected quantum zeta function satisfies an exact functional equation and an Euler product over quantum prime periodic orbits. A conditional reduction of the classical Riemann Hypothesis to the compactification of the quantum iteration generator is established. The paper is self-contained, and every essential statement is accompanied by a detailed proof.

Unitarity in Quantum Mechanics: A Critical Audit from First Principles

Justin Richer

This work presents a rigorous, first-principles audit of unitarity in quantum mechanics, treating unitarity not as a foundational axiom but as a hypothesis whose validity depends on explicit physical and mathematical assumptions. The analysis is conducted entirely within the operational framework of open quantum systems, using completely positive trace-preserving (CPTP) maps to describe the dynamics of reduced subsystems. By systematically isolating and auditing every prerequisite required for unitary evolution—including perfect isolation, Hilbert-space factorization, linearity, the Born rule, and time parameterization—the manuscript demonstrates that unitarity is neither fundamental nor universal, but instead an emergent, scale-dependent consistency condition. The paper distinguishes clearly between mathematical bookkeeping identities and physically meaningful conservation laws, showing that probability conservation does not require unitarity, and that reversibility and energy conservation are not guaranteed by unitary evolution alone. Explicit, mathematically consistent non-unitary evolution models are constructed, including Lindblad dynamics, non-Hermitian Hamiltonians, stochastic Schrödinger equations, non-Markovian evolution, and quantum Darwinism. The work further identifies the precise regimes in which unitary dynamics emerges as an effective approximation—such as weak coupling, short timescales, or limited observational resolution—and delineates the conditions under which it fails. Empirical evidence from atomic spectroscopy, quantum information processing, decoherence experiments, and measurement theory is used to anchor the analysis without assuming fundamental unitarity. The central conclusion is unambiguous: no physically accessible open or effective subsystem undergoes strictly unitary evolution. Unitarity is shown to be an emergent, conditional, and scale-dependent property rather than a fundamental law of nature. This manuscript is intended as a foundational clarification of the status of unitarity in quantum theory and is suitable for researchers in quantum foundations, open quantum systems, quantum information, and quantum gravity. Topological--Historical Quantum Mechanics: A Three-Axiom Reconstruction of Quantum States, Dynamics, Probability, Measurement, Entanglement, Spin, Statistics, Open Systems, and the Classical Limit

Kianming(Jianming) Wang

We develop a conditionally closed reconstruction of quantum mechanics from exactly three physical axioms: microscopic ontic definiteness and finite localization, physical reality of the spacetime--vacuum substrate, and persistent causal source--response coupling. Wave functions, Hilbert spaces, complex amplitudes, density operators, the Born rule, commutation relations, Fock spaces, path integrals, completely positive maps, and Markovian dynamics are introduced only as derived mathematical or operational structures, not as additional physical axioms. The construction distinguishes the actual finite carrier and its causal history from the quantum state used to represent preparations, transformations, and measurement probabilities. It derives unitary dynamics from self-adjoint Hamiltonians, formulates spectral observables and probability currents, and states the explicit equilibrium, additivity, noncontextuality, and calibration conditions required for the Born representation. Measurement is described through instruments, pointer dynamics, stable records, weak values, continuous monitoring, diffusive and counting trajectories, and operational error--disturbance relations. Quantum trajectories remain record-conditioned predictive representations rather than automatically ontic paths. Composite systems, identical particles, spin, entanglement entropy, purification, steering, Bell correlations, dense coding, and no-broadcasting are developed on declared tensor-product and symmetry domains. Open-system dynamics are formulated through causal Volterra equations, memory kernels, initial-slip terms, auxiliary-mode realizations, and unitary dilations. Existence, positivity, complete positivity, trace preservation, no-signalling, and energy closure are treated as logically distinct properties. Semiclassical pseudodifferential calculus, controlled path-integral convergence, Ehrenfest-time bounds, semiclassical measures, decoherence, and macroscopic-record stability define the quantum--classical interface. Topological phases, defect-bound states, relativistic wave equations, infrared dressing, and effective quantum-field-theory domains are incorporated with explicit applicability and error conditions. Numerical spectral certification, statistical model comparison, twenty-five benchmark models, theorem-status ledgers, and a complete experimental statistical protocol provide falsification and replication criteria. The resulting framework preserves standard quantum mechanics on its validated domain while isolating finite-core and historical corrections as conditional, quantitatively bounded, and experimentally testable extensions. **Keywords** Quantum foundations; topological quantum mechanics; historical memory; three-axiom reconstruction; Born rule; quantum measurement; weak measurement; quantum trajectories; entanglement; spin and statistics; open quantum systems; Volterra equations; semiclassical limit; quantum topology; numerical certification; experimental falsification.

Quantum Communication, Networks, and Secure Information Processing in a Three-Axiom Global-Realist Framework

Kianming(Jianming) Wang

We develop a unified, operational, and falsifiable framework for quantum communication, quantum networks, and quantum cryptography as a conservative extension of three physical axioms: microscopic ontic definiteness with finite localization, the physical reality of the spacetime–vacuum substrate, and persistent causal retarded source–response coupling. Quantum states, density operators, entanglement, channels, and information are treated as mathematical or operational representations rather than additional fundamental ontologies. The framework derives completely positive trace-preserving maps from unitary system–environment dynamics and examines Kraus, Choi, Liouville, Stinespring, complementary-channel, and process-tensor representations. It establishes explicit interfaces for initial system–environment correlations, non-Markovian memory, channel discrimination, diamond-norm certification, and causal multitime processes. Classical, quantum, private, and entanglement-assisted capacities are distinguished from finite-blocklength and resource-normalized throughput. Optical-fiber, free-space, atmospheric, satellite, deep-space, microwave, atomic, spin, and continuous-variable links are incorporated through complete source–channel–receiver–detector forward models. Quantum networks are formulated as stochastic renewal, memory, swapping, purification, routing, and queueing systems subject to cut-set bounds, decoherence, synchronization error, congestion, latency, and energy constraints. For quantum key distribution, the security chain proceeds from source characterization and parameter estimation through smooth min-entropy, entropic uncertainty, error correction, authentication, privacy amplification, and composable key certification. BB84, decoy-state, entanglement-based, measurement-device-independent, device-independent, and continuous-variable protocols are treated with explicit finite-size and assumption boundaries. The theory preserves operational no-signaling, finite propagation speed, passivity, and complete energy accounting. Every performance or security claim requires independent calibration, nuisance covariance, held-out prediction, finite-sample validation, matched classical comparison, and an explicit rejection criterion. **Keywords** Quantum communication; quantum channels; quantum networks; quantum cryptography; quantum key distribution; open quantum systems; channel capacity; continuous-variable communication; quantum repeaters; process tensors; non-Markovian dynamics; composable security; finite-key analysis; no-signaling; detector forward models; experimental identifiability.

A Rigorous Theory of Neutrosophic Quantum Channels

Saeid Jafari

We develop a mathematical framework for neutrosophic quantum channels by combining the operator-theoretic structure of quantum channels with single-valued neutrosophic information. A quantum channel is conventionally modeled as a completely positive tracepreserving (CPTP) linear map between operator spaces. We retain this physical core and augment it with a neutrosophic state N = (T, I, F), representing truth, indeterminacy, and falsity information associated with a quantum state or a channel description. We define neutrosophic quantum states, neutrosophic quantum channels, their composition, tensor products, Kraus representations, Choi representations, and complementary channels. Several structural results are proved, including closure under composition, a tensor-product construction, and a criterion for compatibility between the quantum and neutrosophic components. A distinction is made between the physical quantum channel and the additional neutrosophic information layer. In particular, an arbitrary neutrosophic scalar multiplying a density operator is not identified with a physical quantum operation. This distinction is essential for preserving positivity, trace normalization, and complete positivity. The resulting theory provides a rigorous mathematical framework for incorporating explicit truth, indeterminacy, and falsity information into quantum information models.

Quantum Mechanics

K. Kong Wan

The mathematical formalism of quantum theory in terms of vectors and operators in infinite-dimensional complex vector spaces is very abstract. The definitions of many mathematical quantities used do not seem to have an intuitive meaning, which makes it difficult to appreciate the mathematical formalism and understand quantum mechanics. This book provides intuition and motivation to the mathematics of quantum theory, introducing the mathematics in its simplest and familiar form, for instance, with three-dimensional vectors and operators, which can be readily understood. Feeling confident about and comfortable with the mathematics used helps readers appreciate and understand the concepts and formalism of quantum mechanics. This book is divided into four parts. Part I is a brief review of the general properties of classical and quantum systems. A general discussion of probability theory is also included which aims to help in understanding the probability theories relevant to quantum mechanics. Part II is a detailed study of the mathematics for quantum mechanics. Part III presents quantum mechanics in a series of postulates. Six groups of postulates are presented to describe orthodox quantum systems. Each statement of a postulate is supplemented with a detailed discussion. To make them easier to understand, the postulates for discrete observables are presented before those for continuous observables. Part IV presents several illustrative applications, which include harmonic and isotropic oscillators, charged particle in external magnetic fields and the Aharonov–Bohm effect. For easy reference, definitions, theorems, examples, comments, properties and results are labelled with section numbers. Various symbols and notations are adopted to distinguish different quantities explicitly and to avoid misrepresentation. Self-contained both mathematically and physically, the book is accessible to a wide readership, including astrophysicists, mathematicians and philosophers of science who are interested in the foundations of quantum mechanics.
