Quantum Information Processing Algorithms with Emphasis on Machine Learning

Glen S. Uehara, Andreas Spanias, William Clark

Quantum Computing (QC) promises to elevate computing speed by an estimated 100 million times. Several applications, including signal processing, machine learning, big data, communication, and cryptography, will benefit from quantum computing. This paper provides a brief survey of quantum information processing algorithms with an emphasis on machine learning. We begin first, covering with an introduction to quantum systems. Then we describe briefly the fundamental blocks and principles of quantum mechanics, and we present several related QC concepts such as qubits, correlation, and entanglement. We also present simulations and tools for the quantum implementation of select algorithms. We cover specifically Quantum Machine Learning (QML) and demonstrate simple implementations. The paper also describes current research and provides an extensive bibliography for further reading.

215Quantum-enhanced cyber threat detection with mini-batch optimization

Sarvapriya M. Tripathi, Himanshu Upadhyay, Jayesh Soni

Quantum computing is a rapidly emerging field that leverages quantum properties, such as superposition and entanglement, for information processing, leading to the development of quantum information processing (QIP). Extending QIP into the domains of artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) has given rise to quantum ML (QML quantum machine learning (QML) ). While classical ML algorithms excel at identifying patterns in datasets, QML quantum machine learning (QML) aims to integrate classical data processing capabilities with quantum-specific algorithms, utilizing quantum computing to address computationally intensive problems more efficiently. In this study, we implement QML quantum machine learning (QML) algorithms within the cybersecurity domain, focusing on their potential for advanced threat detection threat detection . We further investigate the performance variations of QML quantum machine learning (QML) models across different batch sizes to identify the optimal configuration for achieving the highest accuracy with a specified number of qubits. Additionally, we present a sophisticated approach to attack vector recognition by employing virtual machine memory introspection combined with quantum neural networks. By analyzing the relationship between batch sizes and the efficiency of QML quantum machine learning (QML) models, this research provides valuable insights into optimizing QML for cybersecurity applications.

Classification with Quantum Machine Learning: A Survey

Zainab Abohashima, Mohamed Elhoseny, Essam Halim Houssein +1 more

Due to the superiority and noteworthy progress of Quantum Computing (QC) in a lot of applications such as cryptography, chemistry, Big data, machine learning, optimization, Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, communication, and many more. Fully towards to combine classical machine learning (ML) with Quantum Information Processing (QIP) to build a new field in the quantum world is called Quantum Machine Learning (QML) to solve and improve problems that displayed in classical machine learning (e.g. time and energy consumption, kernel estimation). The aim of this paper presents and summarizes a comprehensive survey of the state-of-the-art advances in Quantum Machine Learning (QML). Especially, recent QML classification works. Also, we cover about 30 publications that are published lately in Quantum Machine Learning (QML). we propose a classification scheme in the quantum world and discuss encoding methods for mapping classical data to quantum data. Then, we provide quantum subroutines and some methods of Quantum Computing (QC) in improving performance and speed up of classical Machine Learning (ML). And also some of QML applications in various fields, challenges, and future vision will be presented.
