The Truth of Shape: A Bifurcation into PR and NPR from SEP and the Chilton Form

Abstract

Truth reveals the shape of a bounded structured entity Q to the extent that the view is unobscured, and observation or measurement is the verification of that shape from afar. The view is never fully unobscured at any finite cost, and the structural form this asymptotic situation takes is what this paper develops on the foundation of The Shape of Reality, which commits existence by shape, the recursion Q = ΣQᵢ | S, the four-set partition of configurations, the descriptive layer Set E, and the structural complement Set F. Truth supplies one new principle: the Simultaneous Exclusion Principle, SEP, which extends Shape's singular set-membership rule to the resolution layer and states that only one resolution of any conjugate pair is available at any instant. From SEP and the recursion, truth is the asymptotic structure of the measurement-mediated approach to Q, the form of approach is one structural form named the Chilton Form, and the substrate of approach bifurcates into Physical Reality, the substrate of instantiated configurations, and Non-Physical Reality, the representational substrate. The conjugate-pair floor follows from SEP at the recursion layer, with Heisenberg's principle and the Landauer floor read as substrate-specific instances under a shared structural interpretation rather than as identical physical laws. The joint asymptotic terminal of the chain is ℝ, Reality: real, unreachable at any finite cost, and referable by the form of approach. Where the chain breaks, the structural fact named CFG admits a four-mode taxonomy at the principle level comprising fabrication, suppression, pareidolia, and blindness. The paper rereads the macroscopic Schrödinger's cat configuration through the temporal structure of the local triggering event, develops mathematics as the Hard NPR description of configurations across all four sets of Shape's partition, and exposes its architecture by stating seven configurations whose construction would falsify the framework.

The Time for Truth: The Two Rooms of Reality and the Unification of QM and GR

P.E. James E. Chilton

This paper develops what time is by observation; the companion paper, The Shape of Spacetime (Chilton, forthcoming, end of May 2026 prepublication), develops what time is by construction. The two papers form one structural picture in two halves. This paper takes up two questions that have lived alongside each other for a century without quite meeting. The first is what time actually is. The second is why quantum mechanics and general relativity have resisted a single account despite a long and serious effort. The present paper develops one structural answer to both. Time is the operation by which configurations cross from the room where they are admissible-pending into the room where they are instantiated, at the boundary this framework names the NOW. There are two rooms, the PAST and the FUTURE, and there is no third. Quantum mechanics describes the FUTURE room with extraordinary precision because that room contains candidate fields and phase relationships among admissible configurations. General relativity describes the PAST room with comparable precision because that room contains the curvature accumulated under mass-energy that has crossed. On this reading, the apparent conflict between quantum mechanics and general relativity is not a failure of either theory within its successful domain, but a category error produced by asking the calculi of two structurally distinct rooms to close on one substrate. Their unification is the recognition that they share a boundary rather than a domain. The unification claimed in this paper is structural: the recognition that quantum mechanics and general relativity describe two structurally distinct rooms sharing a boundary, with the calculi of the two theories operating in their successful domains and meeting at the contact rather than competing for the same substrate. The algebraic completion of the unification, including the formal expression of the Wick rotation at the boundary, the resolution of the imaginary unit at contact, and the relationship between the candidate field's phase structure and the past room's metric signature, is developed in The Shape of Spacetime, the next paper in the Q Conjecture (Chilton, forthcoming). The present paper commits the structural framework on which that algebraic completion runs. This paper inherits two prior commitments. The Shape of Reality (Chilton 2026a) committed existence by shape, the recursion Q = ΣQᵢ | S, and the four-set partition of configurations into A, B, C, and D, with Set E as the descriptive layer. The Truth of Shape (Chilton 2026b) committed the Simultaneous Exclusion Principle, the Chilton Form as the structural form of measurement-mediated approach to Q, the substrate bifurcation between Physical Reality and Non-Physical Reality, and the joint asymptotic terminal of the truth-tracking chain at ℝ (Truth's notation for Reality, distinct from the real numbers the symbol conventionally names). Shape led to Truth; Truth led here. The present paper opens the keystone Truth committed at §4.5, that out there is back then, into the temporal architecture proper. It commits one new structural fact: the NOW is a literal shared boundary between two structurally distinct rooms, with no width, with one Planck unit of door swing on each side, and with the boundary advance at every tick producing the temporal structure in which every observer has always operated.

APF Paper 14 — Quantum Mechanics from Beginning to End

Ethan Brooke

This paper tells the quantum-mechanical account of Admissibility Physics in one place, from the first declared fact to the last committed record. From a single finite-capacity axiom (A1) plus one declared occupancy fact, the story runs through the Δ calculus that prices jointness (Δ = ε(J − R), derived, with two fences: Δ is not an information functional, and Δ > 0 is not a quantum criterion); the separable / irreducibly-joint fork, decided by an exact Boole-polytope feasibility test; the Boolean-defender bridge that forces noncommutativity where the global Boolean section fails; the gate pipeline that earns complex Hilbert space and the finite Born trace rule as endpoint theorems rather than postulates; the correlation ladder from product states to Tsirelson, with a native family ceiling 2√2·102/103 carried at honest reading grade with a live falsifier; resolution as a class transition, with the free/spend/permanent triad proved as a composition of banked theorems and measurement, decoherence, the Page curve, and the Diósi–Penrose scale as four worked instances of one mechanism; and the arrow of time as the one-way ratchet of the admissibility floor — confinement, the second law, and the quantum as one axis read at graded strengths. Every load-bearing step is anchored to a named, machine-verified check function in the APF theorem bank; the grade of each step is stated where the step is made; and everything the story does not claim is stated in one place. The Technical Supplement (deposited alongside and linked from this record) is self-contained for this paper: every definition, proof, and grade the story rests on, in one document, with a worked end-to-end instance and a reproducibility appendix pinning the theorem bank to a public repository and an archived release. About the series. Admissibility Physics is a structural realist reconstruction program built on a single commitment: any bounded region of the world can hold only finitely many distinctions. A principle of least enforcement cost then selects, among all the ways those distinctions might be arranged, the configurations a finite world can sustain. From this the content of physics is reconstructed rather than postulated: the Standard Model's gauge group and matter content, the Hilbert-space and Born-rule architecture of quantum mechanics, the geometry and field equations of general relativity, the four laws of thermodynamics, and the large-scale budget of cosmology emerge as different readings of one finite-capacity ledger. The unification is quantitative as well as conceptual: the framework's dimensionless constants appear not as free parameters but as counts read off that ledger — among them the dark-energy fraction ΩΛ = 42/61 and the weak mixing angle sin2θW = 3/13 — fixed, in the strongest cases, to within current measurement. The core derivation runs Papers 0–11; the extension papers carry the individual sectors. Each paper's main text and Technical Supplement is deposited separately; every quantitative claim traces to a named, executable check in the public theorem bank (over 3,800 bank-registered theorems, 48 quantitative predictions); and each result is carried at an explicit, graded level of confidence — from analytically forced to structurally grounded — with the measurements that would refute it named. Admissibility Physics is offered as a candidate, not a finished theory. If the program holds, the laws of physics could not have been otherwise: they are what a finite world permits. The Algorithmic Reality Model: Unifying Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity via the Zeno Threshold and Thermodynamic Graph Routing

Serdar Hanzala Yaman

Abstract For over a century, theoretical physics has treated General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics as fundamentally incompatible: one posits a continuous, deterministic spacetime manifold; the other, a discrete, probabilistic Hilbert space. The Algorithmic Reality Model (ARM) resolves this schism by identifying a single computational mechanism—the Zeno Threshold (Zα)—as the universal bound governing both quantum collapse and spacetime geometry. ARM treats physical reality as the macroscopic projection of a finite-bandwidth computational substrate operating on a timeless, pre-geometric state (the Singleton). By enforcing Landauer's principle of irreversible erasure, ARM derives the entirety of the gravitational sector from seven pre-geometric, quantum informational axioms. Key Derivations & Unifications Emergent Spacetime: Spatial geometry emerges from the Quantum Fisher Information Metric (QFIM) of the observer's state space, while time emerges from the Tomita-Takesaki modular flow. The Lorentzian signature (-,+,+,+) is algebraically forced by the compact/non-compact structure of their isometry generators. The Holographic Scalar (The 3→1 Unification): Applying the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem to the holographic boundary yields the exact Bekenstein-Hawking factor of 1/4 as a universal 2D anti-aliasing limit. This simultaneously fixes the area-law coefficient and structurally derives Newton's constant as G = c3ξmin2 / ℏ. Systematic Boundary Deviations: The framework quantitatively resolves macroscopic anomalies as computational resolution limits. Dark energy emerges as the minimum Landauer maintenance cost of the cosmological event horizon, and the MOND acceleration scale (a0) emerges as a thermodynamic noise floor, algebraically locked by the structural identity a02 = (8πG/3)ρΛ. Thermodynamic State Truncation: Wavefunction collapse, the black hole information paradox, and EPR non-locality are rigorously unified as manifestations of the computational substrate's finite Landauer memory budget. Computational Computability Because ARM is built on discrete informational axioms rather than continuous manifolds, the entire framework is natively computable. The structural derivations in this paper—including emergent geodesic lensing, the Bekenstein-Hawking threshold, and the MOND noise floor—have been explicitly verified via sparse Hermitian lattice simulations. The complete open-source computational validation suite is available at: github.com/srdrymn/algorithmic-reality-model-validations This manuscript represents the master synthesis and culmination of the Algorithmic Theory of Reality (ATR) foundational framework.

A Unified Algebraic-Informational Ontology of the Universe Substrate Independence, Distance Geometry, and the Crossed Product Resolution of von Neumann Algebras

Dean Kulik

A Unified Algebraic-Informational Ontology of the Universe Substrate Independence, Distance Geometry, and the Crossed Product Resolution of von Neumann Algebras Driven by Dean A. Kulik September 2026 Introduction to the Relational Universe The enduring pursuit of theoretical physics has been to reconcile the continuous, geometric scaffolding of general relativity with the discrete, probabilistic, and algebraic nature of quantum mechanics. Historically, this reconciliation has faltered because both paradigms impose an a priori ontological framework upon the universe: classical mechanics assumes a pre-existing continuous spacetime manifold, while quantum mechanics presupposes a globally defined Hilbert space. However, a profound synthesis of modern algebraic quantum field theory (AQFT), constructor theory, Euclidean distance geometry, and discrete operator logic suggests that neither space nor continuous state vectors are fundamental. Instead, the universe functions as a closed transformation domain of purely relational, substrate-independent distinctions. In this unified paradigm, information is the foundational bedrock of physical reality. Constructor theory asserts that the laws of physics are not strictly predictive equations of motion, but rather exact specifications of which transformations of physical systems are possible and which are impossible. Because these transformations govern the flow of information independently of the underlying micro-physical medium, reality itself is substrate-independent. A quantum bit, or any physical correlate of information, can be abstractly modeled as a set of allowable operations—such as continuous reversibility and the prohibition of simultaneous encoding—without reference to whether the system is implemented via trapped ions, superconducting circuits, or the vacuum of spacetime. When these allowable physical transformations are formally mapped, they generate a stringent "Operator Grammar". This grammar constitutes the absolute minimum set of constraints dictating how elemental distinctions are addressed, separated, preserved, and subsequently re-read. Crucially, the physical manifestation of spatial geometry does not exist as a prior stage for these operations. Rather, geometry emerges algebraically as a constraint-satisfaction rendering of purely relational distances between distinctions, governed mathematically by the Cayley-Menger determinant. As the system scales to the continuum limit, the localized regions of these transformations map precisely to the local observable algebras of quantum field theory. These algebras are intrinsically pathological von Neumann factors of Type III, which lack well-defined traces or density matrices due to infinite boundary entanglement across localized causal diamonds. The resolution to this algebraic pathology—and the exact mathematical mechanism by which measurable reality, finite thermodynamic entropy, and macroscopic observers emerge—is found in the crossed product of the Type III algebra with its modular automorphism group. This operation yields a well-behaved Type II algebra, effectively restoring the observer to the physical system. This report provides an exhaustive, multi-disciplinary synthesis of this unified paradigm, demonstrating that the universe functions as an infinitely extendable field of non-destructive transformations where spacetime geometry is merely the "read head" interface, and the macroscopic observer is mathematically isomorphic to the modular flow that regularizes quantum entanglement. Substrate Independence and the Operator Grammar To construct a universe from the bottom up, without smuggling in assumptions of space, time, or mass, one must begin with the absolute primitives of logic and transformation. This requires identifying the fundamental constraints—the laws—that govern any distinguishable state. In a purely informational ontology, the universe is governed by an Operator Grammar consisting of fourteen irreducible physical constraints (identified sequentially as C0 through C13), which collectively establish the mechanisms by which a state space can evolve. The absolute floor of this reality is the principle of distinction, defined as C0. For anything to exist, there must be at least two states that are not identical (). Without this primary distinction, there is no substrate to transform, select, bound, relate, or render. Building upon this, C1 dictates the law of continuation: every admissible state must admit a successor distinct from itself, explicitly excluding absolute terminals and self-loops. Mathematically, for every distinction , there must exist a transformation such that . Consequently, the object itself is not the fundamental entity; rather, the object is merely a temporarily stable rendering of a continuous transformation process. These distinctions are governed by the law of independent continuation (C1a). If two distinctions are genuinely independent, the transformation of one cannot secretly consume the other's capacity to continue. In the language of quantum mechanics and operator algebras, this independence requires that the operators commute, such that . If this commutator fails to vanish, the operations are coupled, meaning they share a reference point and cannot be treated as separate informational channels. The Conservation of Reachability and Non-Subtraction Classical physics generally allows for the destruction or annihilation of states (e.g., inelastic collisions, dissipative friction), but in a substrate-independent informational universe, true destruction violates the continuity of the state space. The grammar enforces this through C2, the preservation of reachable history. A lawful transformation cannot annihilate a distinction; it can only alter, detach, bound, merge, or re-address the accessibility of that distinction. The history of the state is conserved within the topological arrangement of the system. This leads directly to C3, the law stipulating that no transformation is a subtraction. In this framework, all change is equal in its obligation to preserve information. A cut or division of a continuous object does not reduce the total payload (); rather, every cut is the birth of two distinct entities, producing a relation . If material is lifted from an active field, it transitions to a "bench" state (), where represents the detached continuation state. The lifted distinction loses its active location but fundamentally retains its existence and relational history. Consequently, C3 is not an arbitrary law but is mathematically derivable as C2 applied specifically to the lift operator. Orthogonal Waves: Selection and Boundary Any physical operation necessitates two orthogonal waves of action: one that dictates what part of the field is acted upon (Decay/Selection), and one that dictates what reality becomes after the action occurs (Boundary). These two waves cannot be collapsed into a single mechanism without freezing the state space entirely. The first wave, Selection (C4), establishes an address into the admissible transformation space, denoted as . The selector does not create the distinction; the distinction was already an admissible potential within the substrate . Selection merely instantiates which specific continuation path is taken. The second wave, Boundary (C5), changes the topology of continuity. A boundary creates a new condition of continuation without requiring new physical payload. For example, if a symbol is lifted from a sequence, the resulting gap can either close (collapsing the prior address and establishing new adjacency) or persist (creating two bounded regions). According to the Wall Theorem, a distinction is physically "alive" if and only if at least one of these two channels (value/selection or relation/boundary) remains unfrozen. Collapsing Decay into Boundary freezes both channels in a single event, resulting in a strictly forbidden configuration. When boundaries are introduced, they possess the unique capacity to create new origins (C6). A continuous sequence evaluated as a whole produces a single macroscopic magnitude. However, if that sequence is sectioned into multiple bounded segments, those segments become independent origins for new computations, despite remaining entangled by their shared substrate history. This sectioning is the primary mechanism for non-linear computational growth in the universe. The Rendering Interface and Constraint Satisfaction The final layer of the Operator Grammar separates the underlying relational data from its macroscopic observation. According to C7, results are rendered rather than merely read. The final observed state is a complex function of the substrate , the geometry of the interaction , the selection criteria , and the boundary topology . It is not the simple linear accumulation of hidden objects. Crucially, Geometry is defined as the "Read Head" (C8). The substrate itself does not inherently possess a Euclidean or curved shape. Geometry controls how the transformation encounters the distinctions. A linear read head defines a one-dimensional adjacency, while a circular, grid, or cyclical step-pattern defines entirely different neighborhood relations. Therefore, physical bases (such as positional notation or coordinate systems) are simultaneously available representations (C9). The selected base does not create the underlying substance; it merely acts as a coordinate system for rendering the preexisting relations. This culminates in the Value-to-Shape constraint satisfaction law (C10). The numbers or data points in the universe do not need to physically resemble a shape. If a relation among rendered values satisfies the constraints of a specific geometry—for example, if they satisfy —then those values instantiate a right-triangle relation. Shape exists purely as a potential admissible structure before it is instantiated, and measurement tests this constrain

Relational Existence and the Architecture of Time: A Closure-Based Framework for Physical Description

Magdalena Forsberg

I present a formally minimal architectural framework for universal description grounded in two foundational commitments: a closure postulate, according to which the domain of description admits no external observer or meta-domain, and a relational existence criterion, according to which a node exists within the domain if and only if it satisfies two simultaneous conditions: it maintains at least one active relation to another node, and it maintains at least one recursive relation to itself. A configuration constitutes a state if and only if every node within it satisfies both conditions. From these commitments I derive three results. First, temporal ordering arises wherever fully connected structures undergo relational transition; time is not a primitive parameter but is observer-relative in a precise architectural sense. Second, the directionality of time follows as an architectural necessity from the idempotence of the accessibility functor, without appeal to thermodynamic or anthropic considerations. Third, when an observer node loses active morphism to a subset of a structure, that subset ceases to be a state relative to that observer — a result I call relational bifurcation. This provides an architectural account of the quantum measurement problem requiring no collapse postulate, no branching ontology, and no privileged observer. The framework resolves the Wigner’s Friend paradox: Wigner and his friend have a communicative break at the moment of measurement, and therefore genuinely different temporal relations to the measured system. No time passes for the system relative to Wigner because no bifurcation occurs relative to him; time passes for the friend because bifurcation does. When they communicate, the outcome becomes accessible to Wigner — not because facts change, but because his morphism structure does. Bell inequality violations are architecturally expected: the entangled pair is a single state relative to the observer, spatial separation is a morphism within the domain rather than a division of it, and properties are constituted by relation rather than carried independently. I contrast the framework with Barbour, Everett, Wheeler, Spencer-Brown, Rovelli, and Ontic Structural Realism, identifying precise points of divergence in each case. The framework makes no empirical predictions but clarifies the structural preconditions any physical theory must satisfy to support observation, temporal ordering, and self-reference without regress.

Configuration Realism: Foundations

Russell Tillitt

Configuration Realism (CR) is a physical ontology consisting of a finite, timeless configuration space. Each configuration is a complete arrangement of fundamental degrees of freedom; none evolves; phase attaches additively to degrees of freedom and is defined relationally, relative to a stage of an observer chain. Information exists only as finite, lossy physical records. Each record defines a compatibility class, the configurations it cannot distinguish, and probability is defined as counting over these classes. The framework's derived core is proved and computed in three companion papers under named structural assumptions. The population of an outcome class equals N|α|²: the Born rule as a theorem, with the frequency reading consuming exactly one typicality principle. The CHSH quantity assembled from integer counts reaches 2√2 to O(1/N), the ontology giving up counterfactual definiteness in the plain Bell scenario—and the absoluteness of outcomes where Wigner's-friend extensions demand it—rather than locality or free settings. And equipped with a local move set, counted populations propagate as wavepackets: the effective mass is the inverse hopping rate of elementary refinement, the potential is a cell-dependent phase cost, and the counted dynamics reproduces Schrödinger phenomenology with the number of configurations conserved exactly at every stage. Around this core, closure laws order records by refinement. Observers are chains of record-bearing stages; change is difference read along a refinement chain; time is the emergent coordinate that labels it; and closure distance, accumulating in discrete quanta, measures the restructuring refinement requires. Direct consequences follow for entropy and the arrow of time, for the classical limit, and for objectivity as redundancy. The remainder is a labeled research program: causal structure, Lorentzian geometry, geodesic dynamics, and horizon thermodynamics as conjectured continuum limits of closure geometry, with the constructions that would establish them stated as open problems. A dedicated section collects the framework's distinctive predictions—the O(1/N) family separating a counting world from continuum quantum mechanics—each with its mechanism and in-principle test. Every claim in the paper is tabulated with its status: postulate, theorem, verified, argument, conjecture, or open.
