Abstract

ABSTRACT Ground‐state cooling of mechanical resonators in cavity magnomechanical (CMM) systems is critical for quantum technologies, but is fundamentally limited by intrinsically weak magnon–phonon coupling. Conventional strong‐driving‐based coupling amplification introduces excess quantum noise, while pioneering squeezing‐assisted CMM cooling schemes rely on strong driving, using squeezing to suppress heating noise, leaving the weak‐coupling bottleneck unaddressed. Here, we propose a scheme using magnon squeezing as the core mechanism to enhance effective magnon–phonon coupling via tuning squeezing strength and phase, eliminating the need for intrinsic coupling enhancement or excessively strong driving beyond the linearization regime. Theoretical analysis shows that a red‐detuned squeezed magnon mode markedly boosts the net cooling rate, enabling ground‐state cooling at higher bath temperatures, with performance further optimized by reducing magnon dissipation. This approach amplifies magnomechanical coupling while avoiding detrimental strong‐driving effects, providing a practical, low‐noise route to efficient quantum cooling in CMM systems.

Squeezed States of Magnons and Phonons in a Cavity Magnomechanical System with a Microwave Parametric Amplifier

Sumei Huang, Li Deng, Aixi Chen

Abstract The cavity magnomechanical system has become a promising platform for preparing macroscopic quantum states. In this work, a scheme for generating the steady‐state quadrature squeezing of the magnon and phonon modes in a cavity magnomechanical system is presented. This scheme uses a degenerate microwave parametric amplifier (PA) inside the microwave cavity. It is found that the squeezing of the cavity mode produced by the PA can be transferred to the magnon mode due to the cavity‐magnon beamsplitter‐like interaction, and the squeezing of the magnon mode can be further transferred to the phonon mode due to the magnon‐phonon beamsplitter‐like interaction induced by driving the magnon mode with a red‐detuned microwave field. The effects of the parametric gain and phase of the PA, the magnon‐cavity coupling strength, the power of the magnon drive, and the temperature of the environment on the squeezing of the magnon and phonon modes have been evaluated. The results show that the squeezing of the magnon and phonon modes is robust against the temperature of the environment.

Magnon-Squeezing-Induced Nonreciprocal Quantum Coherence in a Cavity Magnomechanical System

Abdelkader Hidki, Amjad Sohail, Tesfay Gebremariam Tesfahannes +2 more

We investigate quantum coherence in a hybrid cavity magnomechanical system incorporating a squeezed-magnon drive. By analyzing the Gaussian quantum coherence of the cavity, magnonic, and mechanical subsystems, as well as the total system coherence, we identify the critical roles of phase control, coupling strength, drive power, and thermal noise. We show that the squeezing amplitude and phase precisely modulate the effective magnon frequency and damping, enabling phase-dependent enhancement and nonreciprocal transfer of coherence. Our systematic parameter analysis indicates that increasing driving power and photon-magnon coupling enhances quantum coherence, while thermal decoherence leads to its degradation. However, this effect is partially suppressed by the presence of magnon squeezing. The results show that squeezed magnons are a robust and tunable resource for controlling, stabilizing, and optimizing quantum coherence in cavity magnomechanical platforms, offering potential applications in hybrid magnonic systems and coherent quantum information processing.

Preparation of Squeezing and Quantum Correlations in Cavity Magnomechanics

Jin‐Song Liu, Yu Sun, Nan Wang +3 more

Abstract A scheme is proposed for generating controllable quantum correlations in a cavity‐magnomechanical system comprising a microwave cavity and two yttrium iron garnet (YIG) spheres. A single‐mode squeezed vacuum field drives the cavity, while a red‐detuned field excites the magnon modes within the YIG spheres. Activating the magnetostrictive effect in the spheres introduces phonon modes through geometric deformation. By linearizing the system dynamics and introducing slowly moving operators to neglect high‐frequency oscillatory terms, the correlated noise from the single‐mode squeezed vacuum field can be effectively transferred between the two magnon modes and the phonon modes. Control of the cavity‐magnon coupling rate breaks the system's symmetry, enabling the generation of tunable quantum squeezing, entanglement, and one‐way quantum steering. This tunability facilitates the development of quantum information processing platforms, offering a promising framework for advancing quantum information technologies.

Generating Squeezing and Enhancing Entanglement Based on Magnon‐Induced Brillouin Light Scattering via Pump Modulation

A‐Peng Liu, Cheng‐Hua Bai, Qi Guo

ABSTRACT We study a dissipative opto‐magnomechanical system implemented using a yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere, which supports a magnon mode and two optical whispering‐gallery modes coupled via magnon‐induced Brillouin scattering. Besides, another mechanical mode is considered, which interacts with the optical and magnon modes through radiation pressure and magnetostriction, respectively. This hybrid system is under combined optical driving for the optical modes and microwave driving for the magnon mode and the amplitude of the microwave field is periodically modulated. We apply different parametric approximations by strongly driving one of the optical modes for preparing squeezing and entangled states, respectively. When the classical driving fields are red‐detuned, strong mechanical squeezing beyond the 3‐dB limit is achieved, along with simultaneous squeezing of all three modes. In addition, when the microwave field is red‐detuned and the optical laser is blue‐detuned, significant bipartite and tripartite entanglement is generated. These quantum entanglements are markedly enhanced by periodic modulation compared to the non‐modulated case. The proposed configurations exhibit strong robustness against system dissipation and environmental temperature, suggesting their potential as quantum resources for metrology and information processing applications.

Achieving Strong Magnon Blockade through Magnon Squeezing in a Cavity Magnetomechanical System

Mohamed Amazioug, Denys Dutykh, Berihu Teklu +1 more

Abstract A scheme that harnesses magnon squeezing under weak pump driving within a cavity magnomechanical system to achieve a robust magnon (photon) blockade is proposed. Through meticulous analytical calculations of optimal parametric gain and detuning values, the objective is to enhance the second‐order correlation function. The findings demonstrate a substantial magnon blockade effect under ideal conditions, accompanied by a simultaneous photon blockade effect. Impressively, both numerical and analytical results are found to be in complete accord, providing robust validation for the consistency of the findings. It is anticipated that the proposed scheme will serve as a pioneering approach toward the practical realization of magnon (photon) blockade in experimental cavity magnomechanical systems.

Amplifying Two-Mode Squeezing in Nanomechanical Resonators

Muhdin Abdo Wodedo, Tesfay Gebremariam Tesfahannes, Tewodros Yirgashewa Darge +2 more

Quantum squeezing plays a crucial role in enhancing the precision of quantum metrology and improving the efficiency of quantum information processing protocols. We thus propose a scheme to amplify two-mode squeezing in nanomechanical resonators, harnessing parametric amplification and two-tone laser controls. The red-detuned laser drives facilitate the cooling of the nanomechanical resonators down to their ground state and allow optimal quantum state transfer in the weak-coupling, resolved sideband regime. In particular, the competing blue-detuned lasers in the driving pairs induce displacement squeezing in mechanical resonators. Thus, the quantum state transfer of the squeezing in nanomechanical resonators and the intracavity correlated photons of the parametric amplifier significantly enhance the two-mode mechanical squeezing. Notably, increasing the coupling strength of the red detuned laser and the ratio of blue-to-red detuned laser dramatically amplifies the two-mode mechanical squeezing under realistic experiment parameters of a typical optomechanical system. Our findings reveal that the proposed cooperative mechanism effectively enhances the level of two-mode mechanical squeezing with a considerable improvement and demonstrates exceptional resilience to thermal noise.
