Abstract

Text and images data generation, transmission, and storage have seen an exponential growth with the advancement of digital platforms which poses serious security issues for the next generation communication systems.Traditional cryptographic methods (archive) have long-standing challenges from the point of view of scalability, key management overhead and complexity, computational demands but more importantly their sustainability against the future quantum computing threats.Quantum primitives that rely on mathematical hard problems are doomed to be broken by quantum adversaries with μ= Shor's and Grover's algorithms. Also, the integration of heterogeneous data types such as unstructured text and highdimensional images under a unified framework is still an open research problem. To solve these problems, this paper presents a multi-modal quantum cryptography system for secure message and image encryption/decryption and transmission. The framework is based on the basic concepts of quantum mechanics, such as superposition, entanglement and the nocloning theorem, concentrating mainly on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and cryptographic techniques resilient to quantum attacks. The proposed approach combines quantumsecure key establishment with modality-aware encoding and encryption, specifically designed for textual and image data transport, supporting confidentiality, integrity, and secure transit of the data while maintaining high level of fidelity to the original data after decryption.Comprehensive experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed framework in all aspects over the existing work based PLS, PRS, and ACI schemes in terms of anti-self-interference ability, computational complexity or memory requirement, and resistance to cryptanalysis from both classical attacker (AA) and quantum adversary. Our findings indicate is that quantum-assisted encryption is resilient to the most aggressive threats and at the same time provides performance that is strong enough to be used on a large scale.By addressing some of the most pressing issues in the field, such as the threat of quantum attacks, the management of multi-modal data, and scalability, this research provides a foundation for a future-proof security framework that is applicable in the present as well. The new framework has a number of applications in the present, including secure medical imaging, digital forensics, and secure document transfer.

Tasmin Karim, Md. Shazzad Hossain Shaon, Md. Fahim Sultan +1 more

Quantum security improves cryptographic protocols by applying quantum mechanics principles, assuring resistance to both quantum and conventional computer attacks. This work addresses these issues by integrating Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) utilizing the E91 method with Multi-Layer Chaotic Encryption, which employs a variety of patterns to detect eavesdropping, resulting in a highly secure image-transmission architecture. The method leverages entropy calculations to determine the unpredictability and integrity of encrypted and decrypted pictures, guaranteeing strong security. Extensive statistical scenarios illustrate the framework's effectiveness in image encryption while preserving high entropy and sensitivity to the original visuals. The findings indicate significant improvement in encryption and decryption performance, demonstrating the framework's potential as a robust response to weaknesses introduced by advances in quantum computing. Several metrics, such as Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity Index (SSIM), Normalized Cross-Correlation (NCC), Bit Error Rate (BER), entropy values for original, encrypted, and decrypted images, and the correlation between original and decrypted images, validate the framework's effectiveness. The combination of QKD with Multi-Layer Chaotic Encryption provides a scalable and resilient technique to secure image communication. As quantum computing advances, this framework offers a future-proof approach for defining secure communication protocols in crucial sectors such as medical treatment, forensic computing, and national security, where information confidentiality is valuable.

S Hemajothi, Keerthana B, Janani R +1 more

The Hybrid approach in Quantum Cryptography creates adaptable security model which provides the safest Communication in the emerging quantum era. The development of quantum computing raise questions about the long-term security. Traditional algorithms, such as RSA, ECC, and Diffie-Hellman, which is seemed computationally secure but it can be effectively solved by quantum algorithms such as Shor's and Grover's. This problem leads to the origination of two key trends in current studies, namely Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), designing mathematical approaches to encryption resistant to quantum attacks; Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) using the principles of quantum mechanics to assure security in communications. Accordingly, this research proposes a hybrid security framework including reliable data encryption and authentication using PQC, combined with the safe key- exchange method of QKD. The model is implemented in Python, Qiskit, and PQClean's Kyber and Dilithium algorithms to show how these two paradigms can cooperate toward quantum- resilient communication. To present the system performance, key exchange efficiency, computational overhead, and security strength have been considered. According to the results, this hybrid approach gives superior defense against quantum threats while maintaining practical effectiveness for real-world applications such as cloud security, 6G networks, and the Internet of Things.

Rajkumar Kuppuswami, Rajanikanth Sanku, Dr.Suresh. A +2 more

In recent times, secure data transmission become crucial requirement because of increasing growth of threats and emergence of quantum computing technologies. However, existing Quantum Key Distribution-Advanced Encryption Standard-Least Significant Bit (QKD-AES-LSB) struggled with two main limitations such as restricted resistance to future quantum attacks because of dependence on classical encryption and vulnerability of static LSB steganography for improved Machine Learning (ML) approaches. To address these challenges, Quantum Key Distribution-Post-Quantum Cryptography-Adaptive Steganographic Encryption framework (QKD-PQC-ASE) is proposed. Primarily, secret data and cover images are gathered then quantum key is generated using E91 protocol. Next, post-quantum cryptographic key encapsulation is applied to strengthened the generated kay and ensure long-term quantum resistance. Further, secret data is encrypted employing quantum-resilient encryption mechanism and combined using cryptographic hashing. Furthermore, encrypted data is embedded in to cover image through quantum-randomness-guided adaptive steganography for resisting improved steganalysis attacks. Finally, proposed QKD-PQC-ASE framework obtains improved resistance against future quantum attacks and enhanced steganalysis by maintaining low computational overhead. Therefore, proposed QKD-PQC-ASE framework achieved greater results in terms of NPCR of 99.84 % and a UACI of$\mathbf{5 7. 9 2 \%}$which demonstrates efficiency of framework for secure and future-ready data encryption in quantum-aware communication environments.

Quantum Safe Cryptography using Modern Hybrid Cryptography Techniques to Secure Data

Gurjit Singh Bhathal, Udaibir Singh Bhathal

Cryptography, the practice of concealing messages for private exchange, has evolved significantly to address the challenges posed by new communication methods. In today`s digital world, cryptography has become the cornerstone of cybersecurity, using advanced mathematics like number theory and computational complexity to protect digital information through algorithms. The upcoming arrival of quantum computers poses a serious threat to traditional cryptographic methods, especially those based on asymmetric key cryptography. Quantum Safe Cryptography (QSC) represents the next step in information security, designed to develop cryptographic systems that can withstand attacks from both quantum and classical computers. As quantum computing moves from theory to reality, it`s becoming clear that current cryptographic methods based on integer factorization and discrete logarithm problems are vulnerable to quantum algorithms like Shor`s algorithm. This study highlights the security risks that quantum computing poses to existing encryption methods and proposes a comprehensive approach to quantum-safe cryptography. The transition to quantum-resistant algorithms involves replacing vulnerable cryptographic systems with alternatives that can resist quantum computational attacks. Current analysis shows that while asymmetric key cryptography faces immediate vulnerability, symmetric key algorithms and hash functions remain relatively secure in the near term with appropriate adjustments. Quantum cryptography, which directly uses quantum mechanical principles, offers highly secure encryption mechanisms, notably Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). This research aims to enhance the security of digital infrastructure against quantum threats by evaluating hybrid cryptographic implementations that combine classical and quantum-resistant approaches for optimal security.

Timur A. Khudaybergenov, Худайберганов Темур Рустамович, Temur Takhirovich Turdiyev +1 more

The rapid development of quantum computing presents a substantial threat to traditional cryptographic algorithms, particularly those relying on mathematical problems such as integer factorization and elliptic curve operations. As a response, the cryptographic community has accelerated the design of post-quantum cryptographic schemes that can withstand attacks from both classical and quantum computers. However, many of these new schemes exhibit inherent trade-offs between performance, key sizes, and implementation complexity. To address this, we propose a novel hybrid cryptographic framework tailored for secure and efficient data transmission in future quantum-aware environments. The proposed system combines three algorithmic paradigms: a lattice-based encryption method for fast and lightweight data protection, a hash-based signature mechanism for authenticity, and a code-based key exchange method to ensure session confidentiality. This layered integration is designed to capitalize on each algorithm’s strengths while mitigating individual limitations. The system is implemented using modular components in a testbed simulating real-world deployments, and its performance is benchmarked across multiple metrics including encryption latency, signature generation time, key sizes, and throughput. Comparative results indicate that the hybrid approach outperforms monolithic schemes in critical areas such as execution time and cryptographic strength under quantum adversary models. The findings support the practicality of using multiple post-quantum primitives in tandem to build robust communication systems. This research contributes a realistic implementation and evaluation of post-quantum security models and highlights key directions for future research and standardization efforts as the global transition to quantum-safe infrastructure begins.
