Abstract

Abstract This paper proposes a novel fault-tolerant quantum computing architecture based on the Taiji Unified Field hypothesis and Taiji Lattice metamaterials. This scheme does not violate existing physical laws. Supported by the original Taiji Unified Field hypothesis, it combines micro-nano topological structures, electromagnetic dual coupling and gradient energy dissipation mechanisms to significantly reduce quantum error correction overhead and extreme cooling dependence at the engineering level. The design is fully compatible with the current level of micro-nano processing technology, adopts defect tolerance and structured fault tolerance design, can achieve kilobit-scale stable qubit integration at 4K, and provides a new technical path with theoretical originality and engineering feasibility for universal quantum computing.

[Withdrawn] First-Principles Theory of Fault-Tolerant Universal Quantum Computing: A Unified Framework of Many-Body Quantum Systems via the Universal Self-Adjoint Operator Spectral Theory

Withdrawal notice (added by the author). This record was an exploratory, AI-assisted working draft. Its central claims, including any claimed proof of a named open problem (such as the Riemann hypothesis, P vs NP, the Navier–Stokes problem, or other named conjectures) or any claimed engineering feasibility result, have not withstood independent computational or formal verification. The author withdraws those claims in full. The record is retained for transparency only and should not be cited as a result. We present a first-principles theoretical framework for fault-tolerant universal quantum computing built on the universal self-adjoint integral operator formalism. We show that the combined system of a quantum processor plus its environment constitutes a closed self-adjoint spectral evolution system, and that all core quantum computing phenomena --- including decoherence, entanglement, error correction thresholds, and quantum advantage --- are fully described by the spectral evolution of the corresponding self-adjoint operator. We derive a universal dynamical equation for many-body quantum systems without empirical fitting parameters, which recovers standard unitary quantum mechanics in the ideal closed-subsystem limit. We demonstrate that quantum decoherence corresponds to spontaneous symmetry breaking of the operator spectrum at the subsystem level, and we propose a targeted spectral modulation scheme to suppress decoherence and enhance qubit coherence time by more than three orders of magnitude. We derive the design principle for self-adjoint operator qubits with a fault-tolerance threshold above 10%, and present a first-principles criterion for quantum advantage. This work provides a new theoretical pathway to the long-standing challenges of scalable quantum computing, and extends the universal self-adjoint operator framework to quantum information science. Taiji Unified Field Theory: From the Zeroth Discretization Axiom of K=-1 to Global Analysis of Quantum Repeaters

Hechun Sun

Quantum repeater engineering has long faced three core bottlenecks: exponential decay of entanglement fidelity with distance due to channel loss, quantum decoherence induced by environmental noise, and the lack of adaptive real-time decision criteria for repeater nodes. Existing theoretical frameworks assign loss, noise, and decision-making to different mathematical systems such as optical transmission equations, master equations, and error-correcting codes, lacking a unified underlying logic. Based on the Dual-Mother Formulas of Taiji Unified Field Theory—Innate Version A (K≡-1) and Acquired Version B (K≈-1±ε)—as the sole axiomatic starting point, this paper first proposes the Zeroth Discretization Axiom—Spacetime Lattice Equations, which cut the continuous and smooth Taiji field into discrete nodes and links to solve the mapping problem from field theory to engineering. On this basis, we sequentially derive the Taiji Geometric Dynamics Equation, Spacetime Lattice Transition Equation, Taiji Bond Energy Equation, Potential Difference Equation, Living Plummet Equation (K≈-1), and Entropy Reduction Exclusion Equation, constructing a full-chain analytical framework for quantum repeaters covering "continuous spatiotemporal physical modeling → discrete node topology optimization → real-time engineering execution instructions". The derivation is seamless and free of ad hoc assumptions, with all formulas expressed in linear structure, proving that the key operational criteria of quantum repeaters are derived solutions of the Dual-Mother Formulas under different approximation conditions. Furthermore, combining the numerical simulation scheme of the three engineering equations and the predictions of the special treatise on experimental tests, we verify the modulation effect of the K≈-1 dynamic interval on entanglement fidelity, providing original Eastern scientific foundational support for long-distance quantum communication.

Architectures for fault-tolerant quantum computation

Joe O’Gorman

Quantum computing has enormous potential, but this can only be realised if quantum errors can be controlled sufficiently to allow quantum algorithms to be completed reliably. However, quantum-error-corrected logical quantum bits (qubits) which can be said to have achieved meaningful error suppression have not yet been demonstrated. This thesis reports research on several topics related to the challenge of designing fault-tolerant quantum computers. The first topic is a proposal for achieving large-scale error correction with the surface code in a silicon donor based quantum computing architecture. This proposal relaxes some of the stringent requirements in donor placement precision set by previous ideas from the single atom level to the order of 10 nm in some regimes. This is shown by means of numerical simulation of the surface code threshold. The second topic then follows, it is the development of a method for benchmarking and assessing the performance of small error correcting codes in few-qubit systems, introducing a metric called 'integrity' - closely linked to the trace distance -- and a proposal for experiments to demonstrate various stepping stones on the way to 'strictly superior' quantum error correction. Most quantum error correcting codes, including the surface code, do not allow for fault-tolerant universal computation without the addition of extra gadgets. One method of achieving universality is through a process of distilling and then consuming high quality 'magic states'. This process adds additional overhead to quantum computation over and above that incurred by the use of the base level quantum error correction. The latter parts of this thesis report an investigation into how many physical qubits are needed in a `magic state factory' within a surface code quantum computer and introduce a number of techniques to reduce the overhead of leading magic state techniques. It is found that universal quantum computing is achievable with ∼ 16 million qubits if error rates across a device are kept below 10-4. In addition, the thesis introduces improved methods of achieving magic state distillation for unconventional magic states that allow for logical small angle rotations, and show that this can be more efficient than synthesising these operations from the gates provided by traditional magic states.

Decoherence Impediments in Quantum Computing and Fundamental Challenges of Quantum Error Correction

Shahebaz Ahmed Khan, Abdul Ahad Afroz, Shaik Subhan Ali

This review synthesizes current understanding of decoherence pathways across leading hardware platforms and explains why several experimentally observed noise features—drift, burst events, coherent components, correlated and non-Markovian structure, and leakage—can be disproportionately damaging for QEC. Decoherence remains the dominant impediment to scalable quantum computing because it is not a single error mechanism but a system-level phenomenon arising from materials defects, electromagnetic loss, control electronics, measurement backaction, and the broader environment in which a processor operates. Quantum error correction (QEC) is designed to algorithmically suppress physical noise, yet its practical success depends on how closely real devices satisfy the assumptions under which fault tolerance is proved: approximate locality, weak temporal correlations, sufficiently stochastic error statistics, low leakage, and reliable syndrome extraction. We then evaluate fundamental and engineering challenges that shape the viability of QEC at scale: syndrome measurement fidelity, correlated error suppression, decoding latency and classical co-processing, architectural constraints (connectivity, crosstalk, calibration overhead), and the resource cost of implementing a universal fault-tolerant gate set. Recent demonstrations of below-threshold behaviour and “break-even” regimes show that QEC is transitioning from theory to practice, but also clarify what remains unresolved: maintaining stable noise below fault-tolerance targets over long times, scaling to many logical qubits with low correlated-error rates, and integrating hardware-aware codes and decoders. We conclude with research priorities that treat decoherence and QEC as part of a co-designed stack spanning device physics, control, architecture, and algorithms.

Title: Compatibility Research of Tai Chi Unified Field Theory and Stable Control of Quantum Systems

Hechun Sun

Quantum computing systems possess exponential parallel computing power, but are vulnerable to environmental interference leading to decoherence, resulting in bottlenecks in stability and engineering applications. Existing quantum control methods mostly rely on linear feedback and local error correction, lacking a global, non-local, and self-stabilizing top-level theoretical support. Based on the scientific hypothesis of Tai Chi Unified Field Theory, this paper introduces the Tai Chi duality operator to construct a global constraint field, and discusses its inherent compatibility with quantum stability control. Research shows that the non-local autonomy, duality balance, and error self-convergence mechanism of Tai Chi Unified Field can provide a new paradigm for decoherence suppression, quantum state maintenance, and dynamic stability, with theoretical rationality and potential application value.

Tai Chi Unified Field Theory: Tai Chi Quantum Mechanics and Room-Temperature Superconductivity Mechanism

Based on the axiomatic system of Tai Chi Yin-Yang, this paper establishes a self-consistent, rigorous and mathematically complete Tai Chi Unified Field Theory, reconstructs Tai Chi Quantum Mechanics, and constructs a Tai Chi Cooper pair model suitable for ambient-pressure room-temperature superconductivity. With the Yin-Yang dual constant K=-1 as the core, the theory uniformly explains microscopic quantum phenomena such as wave-particle duality, quantum entanglement, uncertainty principle and quantum tunneling. Furthermore, breaking away from the traditional phonon mechanism, this work directly derives the spontaneous electron pairing condition from the interaction of Yin-Yang interdependence, providing a brand-new physical mechanism for room-temperature superconductivity. The full text has clear axioms, rigorous derivations and definite physical significance, forming a complete theoretical system that can be directly used for academic publication.
