This paper surveys the strongest established results across five major fields — quantum foundations, quantum gravity, mathematical logic, information theory, and thermodynamics — and maps where independently developed results converge on the same structural conclusions about the nature of reality. Over sixty landmark results are cited. The paper then performs an operation not previously attempted: it converges the convergences through iterative meta-convergence, yielding the Self-Referential Relational Principle (SRRP). A complete scientific theory encompasses not only mathematical formalism andphysical predictions but also a reflection on its own status. The “MathematicalUniverse of Self-Reference” series has established, in previous works, a comprehensive framework ranging from the necessity of complex numbers to experimentaltests. However, where does this framework itself stand within the philosophy ofscience? How does it relate to mainstream interpretations of quantum mechanics(Copenhagen, Many-Worlds, QBism, etc.)? How does it respond to the century-olddebate between realism and anti-realism? This paper does not aim to “defend” theself-referential universe but rather to provide a meta-theoretical positioning: wedemonstrate that the self-referential universe is essentially a form of modal structural realism. It inherits the core insights of structural realism but transcends thestatic nature of traditional structural realism through the concept of “modal dimensions” (the imaginary part of complex numbers). On this basis, we analyze thecompatibility and divergences between the self-referential universe and other interpretive frameworks, revealing its unique position within the genealogy of scientificphilosophy. Finally, we discuss the implications of the self-referential universe forunderstanding core concepts such as “reality,” “information,” and “measurement,”offering a philosophical “self-reflexive” reflection for the entire series.
Relational Quantum Mechanics (RQM) proposes that physical states exist only relative to other systems, but does not explain how such relational structures arise. This paper introduces the Relational Emergence Model (REM), which addresses this foundational gap by modeling the generation of relational structure as an explicit physical process. The central contribution is the differentiation map 𝒟 — not a unitary operator, but a structural bipartition-selecting map that produces explicit system–observer correlations from a pre-relational Hilbert space (Layer 0). Environmental decoherence 𝓔 then acts as a CPTP map on the articulated structure, stabilizing effectively classical facts (Layer 2). This three-layer architecture (pre-relational potential → relational articulation → phenomenal stabilization) provides a mathematically structured account of how relational reality becomes determinate. REM is compared with RQM, QBism, and Many-Worlds interpretations. Unlike these approaches, REM does not presuppose that relational structures are already formed — it models the generative phase that precedes perspectival consistency. The framework also provides a natural analysis of Wigner's Friend scenarios as multi-level differentiation processes. A structural correspondence (not equivalence) with Buddhist concepts of dependent origination (pratītyasamutpāda) and emptiness (śūnyatā) is identified: Layer 0 corresponds to the absence of intrinsic nature prior to differentiation; Layer 1 corresponds to the arising of relational structure through differentiation events. --- This is Paper 1 of the 6-paper Relational Emergence Model (REM) series: - REM1 (this paper) — Foundational framework: three-layer architecture and differentiation map- REM2 — Selection principles for the differentiation map (variational formulation) https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19155166- REM3 — Generative differentiation via variational selection on factorization manifold https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19157709- REM4 — Competing informational and dynamical criteria for subsystem structure https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19637584- REM5 — Variational selection of tensor-product structure in quantum systems https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19637651- REM_lambda — Variational generation of relational structure (physical interpretation of λ) https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19641344
This paper establishes the fundamental framework of self-generative dynamics.Starting from two minimalist axioms—information conservation and computability—we rigorously derive the complex numbers as the inevitable mathematical foundation for describing physical reality. By defining a self-generative system, we couplethe recursive evolution of the system with the information potential difference, proving that unitarity and logical closure jointly compel the eigenvalues of the evolutionoperator to lie on the complex unit circle, thereby excluding the real numbers andquaternions as a global number field. We further introduce the self-referential operator and an infinite-layer Hilbert space structure, revealing the critical thresholdln2 of the information potential difference as a universal criterion for the quantumclassical phase transition. A correspondence is established between the spectralgap and Jones’ discrete spectrum, laying the groundwork for subsequent studieson geometric emergence and algebraic stability. This paper provides first-principlesupport for the unified program of the self-referential universe and generative dynamics.
Abstract Ever since its foundations were laid nearly a century ago, quantum theory has provoked questions about the very nature of reality. We address these questions by considering the universe—and the multiverse—fundamentally as complex patterns, or mathematical structures. Basic mathematical structures can be expressed more simply in terms of emergent parameters. Even simple mathematical structures can interact within their own structural environment, in a rudimentary form of self-awareness, which suggests a definition of reality in a mathematical structure as simply the complete structure. The absolute randomness of quantum outcomes is most satisfactorily explained by a multiverse of discrete, parallel universes. Some of these have to be identical to each other, but that introduces a dilemma, because each mathematical structure must be unique. The resolution is that the parallel universes must be embedded within a mathematical structure—the multiverse—which allows universes to be identical within themselves, but nevertheless distinct, as determined by their position in the structure. The multiverse needs more emergent parameters than our universe and so it can be considered to be a superstructure. Correspondingly, its reality can be called a super-reality. While every universe in the multiverse is part of the super-reality, the complete super-reality is forever beyond the horizon of any of its component universes.
This paper introduces the Law of Endogenous Constraint (LEC), a foundational principle that determines how physical laws are selected, stabilized, and made internally consistent. It addresses a problem that has remained unsolved in physics: why the laws of nature take the specific form we observe, despite the enormous number of formally possible alternatives. LEC identifies the internal constraint structure that any admissible physical law must satisfy. It shows that stable laws are not arbitrary, not externally imposed, and not freely chosen; they arise from the geometry of endogenous restriction within the system itself. This principle explains why lawful fields must exhibit specific balance relations, why certain operator families are admissible while others are not, and why physical law remains stable across scales and domains. This paper is the third major pillar in a unified operator-theoretic research program. The first pillar, The Everything Equation (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17813117), introduced a universal recursion identity that defines what it means for any system to qualify as a physical law. The second pillar, A Complete Operator-Theoretic Resolution of the Quantum Measurement Problem (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17823241), demonstrated that this identity, when applied to quantum mechanics, yields collapse, the Born rule, outcome uniqueness, and observer-independence as unavoidable structural consequences. The present work completes the framework by explaining why the universal recursion identity selects the specific laws realized in nature rather than any of the infinitely many formally consistent operator structures. LEC provides the missing selection and stabilization mechanism: a constraint surface that enforces balance conditions across all lawful fields and determines the unique operator families compatible with physical reality. With LEC in place, the overall architecture becomes fully determinate:• The Everything Equation provides the universal structure of lawhood.• The quantum measurement results validate this structure in a real physical domain.• LEC constrains, selects, and stabilizes the framework from within. Together, these works form a unified mathematical architecture for lawful physical reality, grounded not in arbitrary choices or external assumptions, but in the intrinsic constraints that any self-consistent universe must satisfy. Related Works:This paper is part of a unified operator-theoretic framework developed across three foundational publications. The broader structure is introduced in The Tier-0 Framework and the Everything Equation: A Universal Recursion Law for Physics, Mathematics, and Information (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17813117). Its physical consequences are demonstrated in A Complete Operator-Theoretic Resolution of the Quantum Measurement Problem (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17823241). The present work provides the corresponding selection and stabilization principle, completing the core architecture. The geometric stability and uniqueness of physical law implied by the Everything Equation and the Law of Endogenous Constraint are established rigorously via the Kappa Law, which introduces a Ricci-type curvature flow on Law-Space whose linearized spectrum proves the exponential rigidity and uniqueness of the admissible fixed law. This work provides the structural boundary underlying the entire framework developed in the associated papers.
Author's Note: This paper proposes a speculative ontological framework, not an empirical theory. Its claims are offered as a new direction of inquiry. Where they conflict with established physics they should be taken as questions, not corrections. Where they illuminate what established physics leaves obscure, they may be worth pursuing. The future will determine which is which. This paper distils a sustained conceptual dialogue into a coherent framework for understanding the deep structure of physical reality — written for anyone who thinks carefully, not only for specialists. The central argument is this: reality is not made of objects. It is made of fields and events. Quantum fields are immortal, pre-propertied substrates — the only permanent things in existence. Particles are not objects sitting inside fields; they are brief events that occur when conditions inside the field converge sufficiently. What we call objects — rocks, mountains, you, stars — are events of longer duration, not a different category of thing. And what drives the cascade from quantum fields all the way to minds is not a programme being run by anyone: it is the continuous convergence of events with other events, each convergence producing new stable patterns with genuinely new properties that could not have been predicted from the level below. The framework draws a precise analogy with software — fields are like classes, particles like instantiated objects — and then identifies exactlywhere the analogy breaks down and why that break matters profoundly: software needs a programmer; nature does not. Nature is bootstrapped.
